I was very surprised on how detailed this set is. I also did not know of all the mechanics that operate on the rover. Was a lot of fun to put together and looks fantastic! Definitely recommend adding the BrickBling lighting kit for it!
Mon fils de 11 ans a ador construire ce lego. a lui a pris 5/6h mais il est ravi !
Le rendu est super et va bien avec la dco sur le thme Espace de sa chambre.
Beaucoup plus imposant que je pensais par contre
Our nephew couldn’t wait to dive into the building experience. The instruction manual was thorough, making the assembly process engaging yet not overly complicated for a 10-year-old. The integration of the AR App took the experience to a whole new level, blending physical building with digital exploration seamlessly.
This set is indeed a spectacular gift for any young LEGO enthusiast with a thirst for space adventures, and the value it provides extends far beyond the building experience. Best present ever!
I loved building this set and it’s a great replica of the Mars rover. Complicated enough to keep me interested and not difficult enough to make me give up haha (I’m a 45 year old adult)
Very impressed with the whole thing
I ordered this for the summer, thankfully the exceptional rainy british summer time meant we had plenty time to start and finish the brilliant LEGO set.
Me and my son built the set together in 3 days. My son also downloaded the LEGO AR app which added another level of fun allowing us to control the mars rover as we move it across the living room floor. The AR app really adds more fun to the device, in someway it allows my son think about what it was like to drive the mars rover, but without the challenge of waiting 10 minutes for commands to arrive.
Recommended because it also makes a really cool ornament.
We are massive LEGO fans but have never had a technic set so what better place to start than with the Rover. A great, well designed replica and certainly keeps you entertained as you build it. Pieces as always are well made and the step by step instructions were fairly clear, though we did go wrong occasionally when pieces that looked similar but were different colours were involved. Our set was missing 2 pieces but that was easily and quickly rectified with the LEGO missing pieces site that sent us them reasonably fast. Liked the app that can bring the rover to life which is a pretty neat addition. Overall enjoyed this set and will be looking at more technic pieces in the future.
This set belongs to the Lego Technic series. My son is having fun with it, enjoy to build it from the beginning. The instruction booklet is clearly illustrated. I can also use the lego app to look into more details in 3D format. There are lots of joints in this set and a lot of mechanical movement involved. He loves it very much.
I enjoy any lego build but particularly the technics sets as they crossover somewhat into the engineering side with moving parts and articulation.
I would say this is a moderately difficult build though you only go wrong when you get a bit carried away and don’t follow the instructions properly.
As ever the instructions are clear and concise and walk you through every step.
The rover itself when complete is superb, the suspension works great and is useful in teaching how these sort of things work though I just do it for my own enjoyment I can see these being useful from an educational point of view.
There’s a reason Lego is so enduring, they are great at what they do and always try to give you something new but familiar.
My 11 year old son enjoyed building this. He loves the mechanisms to move the arm and control the wheels. It’s hard to believe that Lego can keep improving on previous models, but with Perseverance it has. The set comes with an AR experience on a dedicated app where you can explore more details about the MARS rover and it’s mission.
For budding Mark Rober’s out there. This is the Lego Technic Mars Rover set. There’s not that many bags but there are a lot of parts and did take a few days of on/off building to put together but it’s pretty impressive when it is.
You get the drone and the rover and some nice stickers. The drone is easy to put together and the rover not so easy. That said, my 6yr old is fantastic at building Lego and managed to put this together himself after I organised all the parts by colour and type! With working gears and interesting moving parts (the arm is cool), my little one was very impressed with himself and the model.
Overall a pretty cool set. Not too big, not too small and will keep the builder occupied for a good amount of time.
This is the Nasa Mars Rover – this a technic set a bit more complex than actual lego pieces. I got this for my nephew, he was literally over the moon. He has started building but it is time consuming and you have to know what your doing. It does come with instructions but just bare in mind this set has over a 1000 pieces. We have watched on YouTube so we know the Rover can drive but we haven’t got to that stage yet. There is also a AR app which can be downloaded to enhance play. Another good set from Lego and I would recommend.
This is such a brilliant set – it’s huge and difficult but not impossible to build. It’s challenging and time consuming as well as being educational and interesting. The VR content is an added bonus that makes this that bit more special. This generated a lot of excitement- about the model itself but also the challenge of building it!
This is a great Lego set that will give hours of enjoyment! You get a book which takes you step by step through building it with each section having separate bags to make the parts easy to access. You don’t have to be a child to enjoy this one as it is great for older children as well as adults. With the Lego brand you know you are getting a quality item and they have great help online for missing parts or help in general. It’s perfect for anyone who loves building stuff and is good for learning to follow instructions.
I love lego sets that are based in space.
I find the design of this really cool and interesting, and looks brilliant next to my other astronomy sets.
Fun to build with no repetitive sections to deal with either.
Box looks great but I wished lego reduced the size of them as there’s so much air inside.
Anyway highly recommended.
This is definately one for older kids an adults. Lots of little pieces and the instructions are harder That said if you read over everything first and follow the instructions properly it isn’t to hard to assemble. More challenging for older minds and a great way and more grown up way to entertain older children. Brilliant se
This Lego set is aimed for ages ten plus. Nice little challenge for my ten year old grandson.
The parts are divided into separate bags.
Instructions are easy to follow.
What you get when built is excellent. It’s very detailed and if you download the app you get a lot more out if it.
Great quality as always. My nephew loves anything to do with space so he was very happy to receive this. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. It took a while to build but the overall product looks amazing. Much bigger than expected too.
That doesn’t take it away from the excellent quality of this set and more a case of whoever is building must have some kind of interest in the theme. Also, the book with instructions seems to be less detailed than others she has done and don’t have the full colour description which I feel she works better with.
It has not been full built yet, but she is going back and forth with it, so not giving up but I would say perhaps more leaning towards boys than girls and definitely for older children with so many small parts and less description and ‘play factor’.
All the bags are numbered, and the instruction booklet is full of details.
There are so many moving part and interactive play, and the details are superb, just a little bit over her head this one, somewhat too technical and with other sets she never asked for help, this one is more a case of ‘can someone please help me’ so just not one for her but such a brilliant set for the space enthusiasts out there that love LEGO building.
This is a great Lego set to add to anyone’s collection and it comes with the added AR experience giving this a lot of engagement I would definitely recommend it
It makes a perfect present for all ages
This was a fun build and provided hours of entertainment. I used the app for the first time to build this kit Andrea’s of the almost 300 page instructions and found it really easy to use. Allowing turning the objects on the screen for better angles to follow the build. Loads of moving parts like the wheels, steering even locking wheels for rotation then there’s the arm which can be moved up, down left or right. Looks fantastic and a great tribute to the Mars rover. Great value for money and great quality. Very happy with this.
The new LEGO Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance Space Set is a great new play set from LEGO and my kids absolutely love it. The set includes plenty of LEGO pieces and come in great sizes and sizes. It also comes with a great manual that helps kids to create the standard model or use their own imagination to create various variations and use their creativity. The quality of the whole product is top notch and the tone and style really fits into the LEGO family branding. Kids are loving it and enjoying a lot, it could be challenging sometimes to keep them away, it’s has a great appeal to it to get hooked easily. The Underwater Ocean theme is also well received by my 13 year old one who also plays with my 9 & 6 years old under her supervision and all three of them absolutely loves the whole set, everything included and they all seem to be enjoying it immensely.
This is actually bigger than many other LEGO sets that my kids have played with and is aimed at 10+ and the price does feel a bit high however the attention to detail is brilliant and after starting to use it, the price point starts feeling right.
Overall a great new LEGO and hope that this will keep the kids going for a while. Thumbs Up!
Fans of space and NASA will love this Mars Rover Perseverance vehicle and the ingenuity drone that has been sent to Mars to investigate the planets surface, analyse particles, take pictures, survey and study the planet as well as mapping and so on. This has been replicated through the popular building blocks from Lego in the form of the technic range that Lego are famous for.
This set comprises of 1132 parts all divided into separate bags to make the build easier and for cross referencing with the detailed build manual. This will keep the builder occupied for many hours and also provide a better understanding of this amazing piece of kit that has travelled all the way to the Mars surface and remains to this day, relying on solar power to charge it up whilst beaming back data from the Mars surface. Truly amazing stuff.
Any Lego fan will surely love the build on this as it’s so intricate and finely detailed with moving parts and produces a decent sized model to admire when finished. Definitely worth the money at just over 82 at time of review.
As you’d expect as always with Lego products they are always of high quality and rarely have any issues.
This set is aged for 10yrs and upwards and would make a great gift idea for any Lego fan especially those who like getting their teeth into the technic range or have a love for anything space orientated.
The set arrives beautifully packaged as usual and tempts the recipient to start building almost immediately.
I’ve always loved Lego and am particularly fond of the technic range which follows on from the simpler Lego building skills.
Lego also utilise app/website and AR support with a lot of their products nowadays too and this set can be used for educational purposes as well as fun building it with AR a part of the build giving you lots of useful information about this amazing piece of technical space equipment.
This is another fine example of the technic range of Lego that provides many many hours of interesting and fun building that once built gives the builder a sense of completion and admiration for their finished product.
One that surely needs to be displayed rather than broken up and put back in the box. Superb quality as always from Lego and worth the money.
Technic lego is a little more difficult than ‘normal’ lego. Advertised at 10+ but I’d say 8+ will be ok if they have had practice following regular lego instructions. My daughter (6) can follow the instructions ok by herself but as Technic lego is a little more fiddly she hasn’t quite got the hang/strength to put together some of the more difficult pieces.
We like building lego together though and she normally goes through regular lego sets very quickly by herself. This has been a good set for us to do together, I think another year or so and she’d be perfectly fine to do it by herself.
As with any lego set, you are not just paying for the name but also the quality. Several years of doing lego sets together and never had one with a piece missing or deformed etc. This set was no different, great quality.
My little girl is loving building this lego set. She’s completed stage one so far and is working on stage two. The lego set is the usual brilliant quality that you’d expect from lego and the instructions are very easy to follow. My daughters only 9 and I’ve not had to help her at all so far. The design is going to be a good size when completed and my daughter said it’s the best lego set she’s ever done (she’s done loads of them). I think she’s got a good few hours of building left before it’s completed. I know its expensive but the quality is great and it does take quite a while to finish building it. I’d definitely recommend it for any lego fan.
Hats off to LEGO once again for a well thought and brilliant piece of kit in the Technic Lego Range. My son and grandson have both grown up with LEGO and I even bought Technic Lego for my son’s 40th Birthday at his request. This is a brilliant piece of kit that is suitable for older children and adults alike.
The instructions in the set as always are concise and clear and the pieces are all in little individual bags making it much easier when constructing. My Grandson is 14 and this NASA Perseverance Set made him very happy and my son very envious. Five stars but as always LEGO deserves ten! Highly recommended.
My fourteen year old son couldn’t wait to open up this Lego set. As usual we have the Lego quality in a great product.
great fun product
great for people that have an interest in space and technology
very clear instructions
lots of parts to assemble
contains 1132 pieces
360 steering, movable arms and fully articulated suspension
you can explore the AR app to learn more about the rover and its missio
At the time of this review you can buy this Lego kit for 85.
This is not a cheap Lego kit and because of that you get lots of Lego to assemble and you get a detailed book of instructions.
Initially it looks a bit daunting but actually the instruction book is very well printed and clearly illustrated without words ; it breaks the total assembly down small part by small part, it’s actually quite amazing the detail Lego have provided, very professional.
This kit is a project for someone with attention deficit disorder he loves Lego and this challenge will be great.
I think the attention to detail and illustration are excellent and I appreciate the value of the effort.
I think it’s worth the expense, this kit is north cheap but so much effort has gone into the production and publication
In addition you can scan in with a smart phone for an augmented reality experience with your space craf
great lego set. it arrived today, very quickly. my nephew who is 8 was around and we started building it together. he got tired and bored as to expect to his age but it would be a great Lego to build for a slightly older child
The box is bigger than I expected, and many more lego parts although my husband finds it incredible! He has just started building it with our 6 year old who’s also into lego! It’s taking some time (with younger help) but it’s a great project to do on your own or as a family! The kids love getting stuck in and reading the instructions which are easy enough to follow (with guidance) she’s doing pretty well. Product looks brilliant so far we can’t wait to see it finished with the added app you can download to bring it to life! It’s a brilliant product from lego yet again, well worth the extra for the better quality products 10/10!!
This Lego Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance Space Set with AR App Experience is an absolute wonderful set, which has really opened my eyes as to what modern day Lego Technic sets are all about.
I was actually really impressed by what the LEGO Augmented Reality app actually adds to the experience. It’s absolutely not just an after thought but really adds to the experiences, while still not breaking the curiosity or imagination of Lego.
It’s what I’d class as a complex build for a 8 year old or over, with the instruction booklet alone being over 250 pages and the pieces coming in multiple packets.
