We have a few NINJAGO lego sets and this official 71790 model (the ‘Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound Set’), is a brilliant edition with an extra three little figures too! Really fun set and brilliant quality as expected and a great price on Amazon so would recommend fully to any Lego fans.

It took my 10-year old just under an hour to complete this. I think she slipped up at just one point near the beginning but otherwise it was a straightforward build for her. And it is still set up in the window – which makes a nice change as usually the sets get disassembled into other things. (She says that the instructions told you to open Bag 2 before Bag 1, and that’s why she went wrong, as you need to start with Bag 1. However, I think she got confused in that the first instructions are telling you which bags the minifigures are in, and which part of the hound each bag builds. It just meant instead of having one Bag open she had 2, and therefore more pieces to go through).

As well as the Hound, you also get minifigures of Lloyd and Jay and an Imperial Claw General.

There are 198 pieces in the box, so taking the value for money equation of 10p per brick, the current price of under 19.00 seems about right.

Overall – very pleased with this set – great for Lego Ninjago fans.

This is a really fun to build set, and my 6 year-old needed very little help.

The dragon hound looks awesome as well as the ninja mini figures.

The instructions were excellent and easy for the little man to follow.

This is the second Lego Ninjago set I’ve ordered and in this set you get the usual bags of bricks and an easy to build manual so you can put together a Dragon Hunter Hound which comes with 3 mini figures and a few accessories. A nice feature of the hound is that once built the head, legs and tail can all be moved around in to different positions for creating different poses during play.

This set is a great addition to the other set we already have and whilst a relatively small set it takes a while to build and provides hours of fun afterwards. The price at the time of review is 18.99 which isn’t too bad for a Lego set of this size. Highly recommended.

This is a good set, my 9 year old loves Lego ninjago. The instructions are clear and easy to follow which is good. The set comes with 3 mini figurines as well. The main Lego set you can adjust the legs, mouth, head and tail.

My 3 and 6 year old like playing with this set.

It’s advertised for age 6 and over which is about right.

My seven year old built this easily following the clear instruction booklet.

I think its good value and comes with
    three figures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun ninja lego set.

Another great set from Lego, this one is the Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound from the Ninjago series. In the box you get 198 pieces which make up the Hunter Hound and 3 mini-figures. The set is aimed at the 6 years and upwards age group, the instructions are very good but I still think that new or inexperienced builders at the lower end of the age group will need a bit of help from Mum or Dad. The Hunter Hound is great fun to build, and when finished it looks great – the head, legs and tail can all be moved so its poses can be changed, so it’ll also look good when on display. The figures are all pretty cool, you get Lloyd, Jay and the Imperium Claw General – so some exciting battles can be waged.

I do like this set, the Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound is one of the best looking Ninjago beasts that I’ve seen – happy to recommend.

This is one of the new additions to the ‘Ninjago — Dragon Rising’ series for 2023. It is high quality as you would expect from LEGO and seems great value for money.

There is the LEGO builder app which gives you the option for simplified step-by-step 3D pictures for building. This is good for younger children. As a ‘medium’ sized set of 198 pieces there is enough ‘challenge’ for our visiting friend’s older daughter. The app instructions helped her younger brother choose the right part and then know where to place it.

Once the children had made the hound and the 3 characters they played for ages making up their own stories. The website on the side of the box gives lots of information about this series.

Like any Lego series this is a nice addition to other pieces or as a standalone set. 5 Stars!

This set of Ninjago Lego is, as always, of high quality. The bricks nicely click together and the instructions are well designed. It felt like a bigger build than what it was, I’m not sure why but it did. The only downside is that I feel like the hound could have benefit from being just a tiny bit bigger as at this scale it looks a bit too goofy.
Other than that, great value set at 19 4/5

This is the first Lego set I have gotten in the Ninjago range, which has been around for quite a while now, even spawning a movie a few years back.

As is typical of Lego, the quality is excellent, with the characters and design complimenting the rest of the range perfectly. As is typical with the Lego themed ranges, most of the parts are designed for the model itself and not great for the casual designers amongst us – a definite change to the Lego sets I used to play with 40 years ago as a child. It does mean needing to follow the instructions, which thankfully are typical Lego excellent and walk you through the step-by-step build process.

    Definitely a thumbs up.

Another great kit from the Ninjago range – probably my favourite range Lego do anyway as the designs are much more interesting and unique in comparison. Very easy to follow and good quality all around – as expected from Lego. Very happy with the final outcome, looks great on display!

I’ve got a 6 year old that’s a huge fan of Ninjago – he’s got the LEGO mini figures, the books, the comics, the bed sheets – you know how it works.

This is a completely NEW set, that was just released and my son was mega thrilled to have received it. As always, the quality from LEGO is excellent and I would say that for the price this is a very good set – it’s medium-sized and it definitely is worth the price. Great product!

A lovely new Ninjago set to accompany the new series.
The dragon looks really impressive, plus the inclusion of 3 mini figs makes this a great value set.
As with all Lego, nice easy to follow instructions and good quality build pieces.
My son is very happy with it.

The LEGO NINJAGO Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound Set brought joy to my granddaughter and me. We had an absolute blast building it together and playing with it afterwards. This set is great value for money and guarantees hours of fun playtime. The highlight of this set is the Photac beast mythical creature toy, which amazed us with its ability to move its head, tail, and legs. It even comes with a saddle for a minifigure to ride on, adding an extra layer of excitement to adventures. The inclusion Lloyd and Jay, both equipped with two katanas each, heightens the imaginative play experience. Additionally, the Imperium Claw General, armed with a large sword, added a thrilling villainous element to battles. Overall, the LEGO NINJAGO Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound Set provided us with endless entertainment. It’s great value for money. With its movable mythical creature, great detail, impressive minifigures, and exciting accessories, this set is an absolute must-have for any LEGO NINJAGO enthusiast.

This is a fantastic Ninjago Lego set with 198 pieces to build with.

The fighting Dragon once build looks fantastic and the attention to detail to move its head, tail and legs are great as it makes much more fun to play with.

    Highly recommended.

Although this Ninjago Lego is meant for 6+ years, my young twins love it. Of course, they needed their older brother to build it for them which took him around 20mins to put together. Once done, they had a lot of role-playing fun by using the little ninja characters to try and fight the mighty dragon creature and its accomplice.

This is a nice little set that would be sure to bring a smile to the faces of any little Ninjago fan. 5/5

The instructions were super easy to follow, meaning it didn’t take long to complete, more importantly, this continues to give enjoyment after being built.
This one was definitely interactive and fun. Would recommend.

This 198-piece Lego Ninjago playset is a brilliant addition to any Lego and Ninjago fan’s collection. Part of a brand-new range of LEGO celebrating the Ninjago series, this is a set that brings the iconic battle of Jay and Lloyd with the Imperial Claw General to life. The price is reasonable for this set, which considering the brand is almost expected. For the price, you do get a very impressive LEGO play area which is very straightforward to build thanks to the always excellent pictorial instructions so builders of any age can get stuck in. Building the whole set is fun for kids as well as adults. The set is quite bright and beautiful when completed and also has plenty of character mini figures such as Jay, Lloyd and the Imperial Claw General to enhance their play experience. My kids were really very excited about the fact that the Photac beast mythical creature can move its head, tail, legs and has a saddle for a minifigure. Each of the mini-figures are very well made and are quite detailed too. Another fantastic set from LEGO, can be put together in a few hours so will make that perfect weekend project. My kids had lots of fun making this set and also playing with it.

Overall, I highly recommend this set for any Ninjago/dragon or LEGO fan. It’s a great addition to any collection and provides hours of fun and imaginative play. The attention to detail, realistic design, and excellent minifigures make it a must-have for any fan. Also a cool set to collect if you are collecting mini-figures.

Hope you find this review helpful.

Lego set 71790 imperium dragon hunter hound. Another great ninjago play set, that any fan will love. The set comes in a colourful box, showing you a picture of the completed model on the front and back. You get to make the generals mythical hound creature with he can ride into battle. The set includes 3 mini figures, Jay and Lloyd- the good guys and imperium claw general the villain. Great attention to detail with the hlund being posable, moving its head, tail and legs and a saddle on top to be ridden. Inside everything is contained in bags, you can locate each piece easily and follow each part in the correct order. The instructions has clear images that are easy to understand and follow, with each piece being recognisable. The set contains a 198 pieces. So a fairly straight forward make and then hours of play after. A fun set to battle and fight against the evil villain. Theres nothing to dislike about the set. Perfect addition for the ninjago fan. Brilliant quality as expected.

Our son (5) really enjoyed this set from Lego Ninjago, you get three Ninjas, two goodies and a baddie. Interestingly the colour of the Ninjas was swapped in the bags to the instructions (this was a three bag build) and you get the mini figures spread throughout the build of the hound, so one in each bag. The baddie looks pretty cool and the main Ninjas seem to have updated face coverings to previous sets we have built. The Hound build was possibly a little complicated for his building skills although he did build it all I had to help with positioning of some the blocks as the orientation of the small components confused him a little and he struggled with the ball joints. But he enjoyed it all although he only wanted to play with the Ninjas once he finally got the baddie built and it took some convincing to finish the hound. Good set well priced in lego terms and a good foe for the Ninjago team to find ever more imaginative ways to smash and dismember… and me to work out how it goes back together again…

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little set which our son has really enjoyed.

This Imperium Dragon Hunter Hound playset gives kids everything they need to enjoy endless fun-filled hours as they play out daring battles from the NINJAGO Dragons Rising TV series. The instructions make it easier to put it together. It is a really neat toy for young kids who like to build Lego sets.

The set features a buildable monster with a posable head, tail and legs, as well as impressive claws and spikes. This LEGO NINJAGO playset comes with 3 minifigures which are armed with 2 katanas each, and the Imperium Claw General, who has a large sword and can ride on the back of the beast using a saddle.

My 8-year-old was able to follow the instructions and complete the set by himself. The set has lots of great detail and extra pieces. My son loves Ninjago so naturally this set was a perfect fit and he has been playing with it non-stop and intermingling it with his other Legos now.

The construction is easy and intuitive, also thanks to the app.

This Lego set is great value, with a price tag of 20, three Lego figures, and a big wolf/hound figure to build. I love that, for the price, I am getting so much.

My son loves this set and had plenty of fun putting it together. He is 9 and needed a little bit of help with the more technical parts, but generally, he accepted the challenge and put it together himself, having lots of fun and learning more about Lego construction.

The colours are vivid and match perfectly to the Ninjago story. The playability of this set is brilliant. There plenty to do with the set and it is awaking many creative play ideas for my child. He absolutely loves it.

The monster wolf has a lot of moving parts, that are staying attached even when changing their position, a lot.

My son and I are highly recommending this set.

    Things I liked:
    – posable dragon
    – great articulation on joints
    – love the mini figures

Overall, this makes a great addition to anyone’s existing Ninjago set. My son and I have made a start and so far really enjoying this lego set. I will update review once the lego set build is completed.
