A perfect birthday present for my niece. I’ve always been a little bit of a sucker for Lego, I like the whole imagination thing, and even though this kit is more of a modern build it by the numbers style of kit, a lot of thought has gone into the design so it does end up being good fun for the builder.

The finished stag is very impressive, with a number of parts that you can move, and it will take a couple of hours to build it. We never tried the wolf design, but maybe my niece can give it a shot in the future if she gets bored. Admittedly it helps that she is a bit of a Harry Potter fan, but I do wonder if the Harry Potter thing will peter out a bit as this generation gets older.

Anyway, fun kit and a good way for a Lego or Harry Potter fan to spend a few hours.

One of the standout features of this set is the ability to build, rebuild, and display the models. The set includes all the necessary LEGO pieces and instructions to construct both the stag and wolf figures. The building process is enjoyable and engaging, providing a satisfying experience for LEGO enthusiasts of all ages. Once completed, the models can be proudly displayed as a testament to the builder’s skill and love for Harry Potter.
The attention to detail in this LEGO set is remarkable. The stag and wolf animal figures are intricately designed and accurately represent the magical creatures from the Harry Potter universe. The colors and features of the animals are true to the source material, allowing fans to recreate memorable scenes and unleash their creativity while playing or displaying the models.

I remember the first time I laid my hands on the bricks — there was magic. Now, building the stag or the wolf, the magic persists. The translucent blue elements gave a ghostly appearance, beautifully crafted. And as for the figures, the spell-casting effect was just too good. My room now has a bit more of the Wizarding World, a bit more of the magic.

This is another example of the genius designers at LEGO who have once again taken a much loved brand in Harry Potter and created a incredible set for fans. The unique feature of this set is that you actually have a choice in which of the two possible builds, you can make. The Patronus is one of the most popular and most difficult defensive charms in the Harry Potter universe. The spell is cast when a person says, “Expecto Patronum,” and for the witches and wizards who can cast it, a silvery-white guardian spews out of the wand taking the form of an animal, and his set allows you to build either the Patronus for series hero Harry Potter or the wolf Patronus of character Remus Lupin.

The set is very easy and fun to build thanks to the always brilliant LEGO pictorial instructions, and the blue of the plastic really brings the translucent spirit visual style of the Patronus spirit to life and truly stand out in any display. The fact you have the option to take apart and rebuild it into the other Patronus is a very nice touch indeed. Very much recommend for any die hard Harry Potter Fans and this is definitely a stand out in the LEGO range.

This Lego set allows you to build a Patronus (a stag or a wolf). We chose the stag as it looks so regal. The model is enjoyable to build and it’s a decent challenge for an older child. It looks amazing and will make a great display piece.

I ordered this set for my wife who is a big HP fan. She was absolutely delighted by this set and could not wait to start building it. She opted for the Stag build and really enjoyed the build process.

Personally, I’m not a HP fan, so we have two very differing reviews of this set. My wife feels like it’s a nice understated set for HP fans that they can display proudly. In a similar regard, I feel it’s a generic build and by being franchised as a HP set, it just costs a lot more. It also has no playability and is for display only. I personally also think it looks pretty boring and despite LEGO doing a great job in adding different finishes to it, it’s just a sea of blue pieces. I think a light brick could really have added something to this set. I appreciate them including 2 minifigs, but they don’t add anything to this particular set since there’s no playability.

We both agree that the real pull with this set is the fact that it can be rebuilt as a Wolf. At 62.99 for 754 pieces, I’m struggling to see the value. It’s definitely only for adult HP fans so I’ve let my wife take the lead and give it 4 stars on the basis that it’s a subtle display piece. I don’t imagine any other LEGO fans will be interested in this set, but for HP fans it’s a nice build for the shelf.

This is a stunning set for Harry Potter fans, offering the chance for avid followers to build their favourite, either Harry’s stag or Lupin’s Patronus Wolf. As a gift to my sister, she leapt at the chance of building the Wolf from our favourite film in the series- Prisoner of Azkaban. The set includes Harry himself and Professor Lupin adjoined to their Patronums. The mini-figures, the Patronum size and the recasted vivid sky-blue colour make this a memorable set.

As a set of 754 pieces, this Lego set comfortably takes the middle spot in terms of build time. The number of parts offers teens and adults like me enough time to savour and build away to something more detailed than a mere kids set. Yet, this set avoids the grand complexity of other larger sets making this approachable and in a way more relaxed. Uniquely, as much emphasised, this set can be built in two ways, by Harry’s stag or Lupin’s wolf. A detailed instruction guide is included and took a matter of a few hours to piece together.

The final set is one for the fans! I love the presence of Harry and Lupin, each holding their wands and casting a spell, standing below the grander presence of Lupin’s Wolf. The Expecto Patronum spell sign embellishes the front to add a standing, stage presence that brings some life to a shelf or desk. When considering the price, I will admit there could have been a little more detail or a possible light feature. On the other hand, there appear enough Harry Potter references to make this a lovable, fan expression of the Hogwarts universe.

This is a really fun set to build. I really like the more sculptural pieces that Lego have been releasing and this one is definitely one of my favourites.

There are a lot of fiddly little pieces used to create this figure but it is more than worth persevering with as the finished piece is so impressive. Definitely one that needs to be in a display cabinet – dusting it would be a real pain as every time you would need to reassemble those antlers.

The figure is static once built so no movement like the bird scupltures that have been previously available. I did think about taking it all back down and rebuilding as the wolf but the stag is so majestic I didn’t have the heart to do so.

There are even a few irridescent tiles secreted away in the figure to emulate the ghostly look of the Patronus in the films.

As with any LEGO set, the building experience is exceptional. The pieces are of high quality and fit together seamlessly, ensuring a satisfying and enjoyable building process. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, allowing you to bring the magical creatures to life step by step. Once completed, the stag and wolf figures are impressive display models. They capture the essence of the characters from the Harry Potter series, and the attention to detail is commendable. Whether you choose to showcase them individually or together, they are sure to be eye-catching additions to any LEGO or Harry Potter collection.

This set is not only designed for children but also appeals to teenage girls, boys, women, and men who are fans of the Harry Potter franchise. It offers a great opportunity for creative play and imaginative storytelling. Whether you’re reenacting scenes from the movies or inventing your own magical adventures, this set provides endless entertainment.
LEGO sets are known for their quality and durability, ensuring that your creations can be enjoyed for years to come. The Expecto Patronum set is no exception, with sturdy construction that allows for easy handling and display.

If you enjoy building lego, this is a great set.

It didn’t take too long to build and was quite an enjoyable experience using the app to guide you. The finished model looked very good and is great if you are a harry potter fan.

One of the best features is the fact that once you have built it, you can take it apart and build a second animal using the same pieces which I think is a great idea and an excellent way to make sure you get the most out of your money.

Overall, if you enjoy lego and harry potter or know someone who does, this would make a great gift.

This took a while to arrive, but it was worth the wait. It’s a beautiful set, even by Lego’s standards – and I particularly like the fact that it can be made up in two different ways, so there’s LOTS to keep youngster (and the not-so-young!) quietly occupied on a rainy day – or those dead days between Christmas and New Year.

For Lego – it’s reasonably priced. And you always know you’re getting quality.

This is the LEGO 76414 Harry Potter Expecto Patronum 2-in-1 Set. It is a medium-sized LEGO set that is made of 754 pieces. This is one of the smallest LEGO sets that I worked on and it was still a fun and joyful experience to build it.

The building time didn’t take me much, probably around an hour. I built this on the weekend next to TV and it was easy to build it. I am sure you can spend way less time to build it, or way more depending on the purpose. For me, I enjoy the building process so I always take my time.

The LEGO set is as usual and as expected from LEGO. It is well-built, with each pieces having very accurate cuts and angles. The building process is quite straightforward, and the instructions are very clear to follow. The pieces do feel sturdy and well-manufactured, and the colours are very vivid and matching.

All in all, a fun experience.

My son’s eyes lit up when he saw this, he loves Lego and he loves Harry Potter, perfect.

This is an intricate Lego set which is designed to be able to build the stag and the wolf. The colour of the pieces add to the final finished model and anyone who knows Harry Potter would recognise them once finished.

It’s marketed as 14+, my 11 year old has a lot of experience with Lego so was able to do it but it is also challenging enough for adults.

Lego is the leading brand and over the years with our children and ourselves we’ve bought a lot of Lego and you know that you’re getting an excellent quality product. This does not disappoint.

It comes with clear instructions but I like that there is the app now which is a helpful addition

I hope you found this review helpful.

An amazing Lego set for Harry Potter fans. The colours are perfect for a display of either the Patronus Stag or Patronus Wolf. The light blue together with the translucent elements. And what an excellent idea to have 2in1 builds! An excellent use of Lego. With 754 pieces, this is one of the larger sets and aimed at 14+, however, I know my six-year-old will give this a good go, having experienced lots of Lego sets and always playing and using his imagination to play. I love the interaction Lego brings to the household, so always appreciate a good set when we get one. This one is exceptional and looks great. Well done Lego.

So, to get it out of the way, is Lego overpriced for a bunch of plastic bricks? Almost certainly, yes. But we all know it’s expensive and still love it!

This hits all the usual high standards. It comes in a nice big box which looks cool even before you open it!
I have gifted this one to my partner for she is a bigger HP fan than I am. She’s been building it for a few hours and appears about halfway done so it’s quite an involved kit!

There’s a bit of added value to this one as, when on display, you can change it between the stag and the wolf.

A fun set to build, bit more technical than most sets we have but that just means we get longer out of it. We have a few Harry Potter sets and this is a great addition. Pretty sturdy once built but it’s not really something to play with, it’s more of a shelf decoration. At least that’s what it’s going to be in our house. Very nice kit and I’d happily recommend.

My daughters are huge fans of Harry Potter, and this set exceeded our expectations. They had a tough time choosing between the stag and the wolf, but ultimately went with the Stag. The instructions were easy to follow, just like classic LEGO style, and the accompanying app was a helpful and addition. The set looks absolutely amazing, with impressive detail, and the stand is a standout feature. It’s larger than I anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. It looks fantastic on display in my daughters’ bedroom. The included mini figures add to the fun and look great in front of the stag. Overall, it’s a versatile set that can be redesigned later if desired.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLego is always brilliant and this Harry Potter set is so impressive! It’s a 2 for 1 set !
Great instructions always come with lego sets and you can always try the app for a 3d building guide.
2 different patronus can be built and you can build either Harry Potters patronus of the stag or professor lupins wolf!
The colour is like a translucent blue which is a fab effect!

This is going to be a gift for my son .. I know he will love being able to build and rebuild these 2 patronus’… now the question is which one to build first?!

Cool 2 in 1 Harry Potter Lego set. This is a substantial figure, and really cool that it can make two completely different figures. This is great fun, and is taking us ages to build which is good for us as it is something we can work on in our spare time and it’s quite satisfying to see it coming to life.

As ever with Leg, this is a set that is brilliantly well designed and beautifully constructed. The thought process behind the range of “toys” (I hesitate to call them toys since they are such outsanding examples of engineering!) is simply mind boggling.

The pieces went together exactly as they should and provided hours of entertainment. For the first time, we tried this one using the app and it was a definite aid in ensuring that we were using the right pieces and had things the right way around (traditionally, we have one or two pieces left over at the end which we conveniently “lose” beneath the sofa…).

the only slight cloud on the horizon for this set, and the reason for marking down by one star, was the fact that the box had suffered a hard life en route to us, and as such rendered it unsuitable for using as a gift. Small disappointment, but brilliant set.

4.0 out of 5 stars Usual Lego excellence and a really good model. We did the stag, and it's very impressive

This Lego set is from the new range of Harry Potter Lego sets. This one is a 2 in 1 set that allows you to build out two different Patronus, either the Wolf of the Stag.

The set comes nice packaged in a sensibly sized box with nice artwork, capturing the ethereal feel of the Patronus.

There are two manuals; the first is for the stag with the usual numbered bags and instructions; the second is for the wolf, this one does not step you through the different bags, so you need to empty all of them and work from a big pile (a bigger challenge but one that may well be welcomed by the more experienced builder. The wolf uses less pieces than the Stag.

There are also two mini figures, Harry and Ron.

I chose to build the Stag and have been working through the set over a few nights in short bursts. It order to look ghostly and ethereal it uses a lot of similarly coloured pieces, but I have not found this too made it less enjoyable, the build is well thought out and varied and makes for a very relaxing build experience.

The Stag itself looks fantastic. It’s different to anything else that I have built in Lego and really stands out.

This has a decent part count for the price, only has two mini-figs but has the added bonus of the two builds in one and thus feels like good value for money.

Overall a really nice set. Very enjoyable and looks great. I will be rebuilding it for the wolf at some point after the Stag has been on display for a good while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Patronus from Harry Potter in one set! A good value set.

Wow. This set was a lot bigger than I was expecting. That’s not a bad thing, but it will definitely keep me busy. Lego pieces are always quality and can withstand anything. This is a gorgeous set, and whilst I’m still working my way through it, I know it’ll look amazing when complete.

Wow, Lego pretty much sells itself doesn’t it? Either way, if you’re a Potter fan you seriously need this set!
In true Lego tradition the instructions are easy to follow, or indeed use the app to get a 3D building guide as you go, and the results build on the excitement as you progress with it (we’re still in the process of building this and I got too excited so had to post this review to take a break!)… Someone just commented that the partially complete wolf looks like an AT-AT from another franchise! Heathen. lol
It’s Lego, it’s Harry Potter, and it looks fabulous!
I’ll leave the kids to finish it, I need a cuppa!
If you like Lego and Potter you need this in your collection!
