I Disagree with most of the review here and youtube, 299 are well spent, the device has a beautiful sleek design, fantastic screen, excellent battery life, but the coolest thing is you can play steam games, PC games, Xbox games, Xbox cloud games, PS5 games, Retro Games, and android Games. If you are passionate of videogames this device is going to be the best gadget in your household for generations, obviously you need a good 5ghz wifi to get the best streaming quality.
Great for Xbox streaming from the cloud. Also good for emulation up to PS1. Battery life is excellent. Could do with a silicone skin as cam be slippy with sweaty palms when playing.
If you have a gaming PC, or a console already and have a good enough internet speed, you wont regret it. You will be playing all games on ultra settings and 1080P even with ray tracing with 5 to 0 ms latency. Use moonlight app on g cloud and sunshine on your pc. Plus you can use whole android apps and games too. Any other handheld cant beat battery life of this device, its average 12 hours. It doesnt have any fan noise, also never gets hot, %25 less weight than standart handheld too. Technical specs(Snapdragon 720G and 4 gb ram!?) and display refresh rate (60hz) are only things I would complain about for the price.
Ok so heres some background. I’m a mid 40’s Dad, I am an OG gamer from way back. I have 3 kids, a dog and a wife. I have virtually no time to game, and when I do late at night, well I just fall asleep.
So this little machine has been brilliant, I can play in short bursts on the sofa if the kids or Mrs are watching something.
You do need good internet, but the cloud streaming from gamepass is brilliant, the screen and resolution/fps are perfect for handheld. And remote streaming is pretty decent too, I’ve played hours now on Far Cry 6, and it’s never disconnected at all. So many AAA titles now in handheld.
I do own a switch oled, but that’s going to get sold now as this device is so good.
I cannot tell you what it’s like outside the home tethered, as I haven’t tried this, and well it’s not what I brought it for. But it’s an android tablet, so I’ve just put Football Manager on it for if I’m ever away from home. As you can store android games on it. But everything else needs internet.
If you situation is the same as mine then I can totally recommended it, it’s a bit pricey, but I’ve sold my switch, so my net cost was low.
Oh and so so comfortable to hold too, much better than switch.
Lightweight and ergonomics blow you away.
I’m of the age where life has taken over and having a handheld is perfect for family life and relaxing in the garden.
As a stream device it’s impressive I’ve played Diablo 4 the most from my Xbox series X but I’ve also tried from my PS4 and Pc. Stunning device
The Logitech G cloud does exactly what I wanted it for. Works flawlessly just to sit back in bed, boot up and play my AAA PS5 or Xbox games on a handheld. I now very rarely turn on my actual consoles.
I have very good WiFi so experience no hiccups while playing. Battery life very good. Some people may say it’s a negative because it can’t be used away from WiFi but my sole purpose for buying was just to use around the house, so not a negative for me.
I purchased this so I can stream my PS5, XBox Series X and Steam PC Games, directly to the Logitech G Cloud while in my home. This frees up the TV and allows for playing in locations other than the living room.
For this, it works perfectly. If you want to stream games from a home console to this portable hand held console while at home, this is AMAZING!
Streaming games while away from home, either directly from one of my consoles, or via XBox Cloud gaming, is a bit hit or miss. Super responsive twitch style games will be disappointing when your 4G/5G signal is patchy. With a good 4G/5G signal or from someone else’s (good) WiFi, this can work really well. It could be a great option if you are away from home, but have access to a good WiFi connection.
When away from home with poor internet, I just switch to playing emulated games. This is something it can do without a internet connection, loading emulators and games directly from an SD card (1TB max).
Build quality is excellent, I’m really impressed with the screen quality and the feel of the controls. It feels like a high quality controller with a screen.
Battery life is beyond good. They aren’t exaggerating when they say it has a 12 hour battery life.
Honestly, the only “disappointing” thing about the Logitech G Cloud Handheld, is the price. It ain’t cheap at 329!
Sturdy build and a quality screen. Clear and vibrant colours and cloud runs really well if you have a decent WiFi connection. You can also play loads of retro games via emulators in the Google Play store as well as some great games on Android.
It is expensive though so waiting for a lower price may be an idea.
Overall though it is superb!
Very happy with this device, i was waiting for steam decks to come back in stock but saw this just release in uk this month (june 2023) and took the leap. Iwatched countless youtube reviews gameplay videos etc yeah people moan about the price and low specs but for what its designed to do it performs brilliantly in my opinion havent had any issues when streaming at home or playing native android games
Definitely worth a purchase for those who dont always have access to their main setup when at home or away from home.
ive found i make use of the games i have alot more at home now and also have the ability to play anywhere (obviously away from home you will require a fairly decent internet connection for the g cloud to connect to inorder to stream from you main setup at home). Even if you have no internet you can play offline android games, sideload other games or use it for media consumption by pre downloading netflix or amazon prime content and other content.
The big screen is bright and sharp, large battery allows for long gaming sessions over a couple of days without charge for me.
The joysticks, dpad, buttons and triggers have been comfortable and a joy to use over multiple hours of constant use over the 4 days ive had it so far.
Performance has been great with applications, native android games and xbox remote play.
Ive been playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, lego 2k drive, assasins creed Valhalla etc theough xbox remote play from a xbox series x, the latency has been near perfect with my setup.
Native android games ive tried including diablo imortal, dungeon hunter 5 etc all run fine and have been enjoyable to play on this device
Yet to try steam link pc streaming due to playing through jedi survivor on xbox sx but when i do try pc game streaming ill probably use parsec as far superior in terms of latency in my opinion.
Interested to see other peoples opinions.
