Have to say this has exceeded expectations. Yes, it’s not cheap, but it’s not your common or garden plastic version either. First – it’s HEAVY to lift, but doesn’t feel so in use. Second – the metal body suggests it will last. Third – the handle and controls are very solid. And finally, if you have any other Makita LXT tools, it’s a highly proven highly regarded battery system. So, in use, it’s a dream. First cut of the season was heavy one but it coped with one and a half sets of batteries (3x6Ah) batteries. Subsequent cuts have been half a set (1x6Ah). Lawn size is roughly 150sqm. Also, the collector box is bigger than my old petrol mower, and the height adjustment really easy to change. All in all, a joy to use, thoroughly recommended.
Overall pleased with the mower, the battery runtimes are far less than stated, I use 2 x Makita 6ah and 2 x 5 ah. If you use the self propelled mode please note run time is half of what they state. The first cut of the year will be with my petrol MTD while the rest will be the Makita on Mulsh. Can I recommend the Mower yes and no. It’s not for the professional as you would be for ever charging batteries, however for the home user the mower is acceptable but with limitations especially in longer wet grass. I was intending to give my old petrol MTD mower to my daughter but have decided to keep it for the first cut each year.
