Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this game, my sister & I are obsessed. Weirdly the game doesn’t come with any updates like new boards (which is essential), mini games, or characters, as it seems to be designed with this in mind? With that being said, this factor does push you away from playing it multiple times as my boyfriend got bored of it quickly playing each board a couple of times. So the lack of updates will push you away if you’re in need of fresh playthroughs. Rated it 5 stars because I do enjoy it still, but am waiting patiently for the next instalment which I’m hoping will fix these problems.

This game is fun to play especially with friends (if i had any) but one downside is that the online is quite dead only one map out of the 5 online rounds ive played and they’re all very high level players who have hours of experience with each minigame but we all get bette

Mario Party Superstars for Nintendo Switch is an absolute blast! It brings back classic mini-games and boards from the franchise’s best entries. The multiplayer experience is a blast, with seamless online and local play. The graphics are vibrant, and the controls are intuitive. A must-have for Mario Party fans.

Though states it is ok for three year olds, your child will need to read well. It is a bit complicated at parts and for younger children will need adult supervision to play properly. The game itself is fun well detailed and great escapism.

This was the best game I purchased for my son, aged 6 at the time, and it’s been wonderful!
The rest of the family thoroughly enjoyed playing too.
I found it to be good for a young child, to problem solve and find the secret passages.

My cousins have this game and it was so fun we couldn’t put it down so I bought a copy for me and my siblings to play. The design of the five boards are perfection my favourite is tropical island. Love that I can play online and locally, this game is a must have for nintendo switch owners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the mario party series

Bought this game for my 8 and 6 y olds, and its an easy game to understand, so even adults can play 4 player (doesnt involve long tutorials and the mini games are really simple).

Great family game for 4 players in the same room. Lots of replayability and can kill a few hours with all the mini games. May have online play, but never tried it. Lots of fun for young and older kids, and even for parents who don’t know how to play video games!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA fun mario party game, definitely better for people like myself who prefers a traditional controller over motion sensor stuff. (I find motion sensor stuff too temperamental).
Has a good selection of mini games and the players move alot quicker around the board in this game keeping the fun rolling along.
There over 100 mini games, but I personally wish there was more because I still find it not enough.

Cons – only 5 boards and currently no DLC now or In the near future.
The game has a shop but all the in game currency purchases in stickers, music and lackluster things which I personally thought the could have had more fun things to unlock like characters or game boards, which would give players more incentive to keep paying. It seems unlockables have become I thing of the past.

It’s still the best mario party they have done in a long time, the last good one was probably on the gamecube.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy wife and I have a long history with Mario Party games, and together we have played and enjoyed most of the titles in the series. When we heard about Superstars, we jumped at the chance to replay some old favourites on the Switch, especially after being a little disappointed by the previous game (Super Mario Party).

They definitely selected some of the best minigames from the series, and I was happy to see some of my favourites return. With that said, some of the choices seemed like a mistake for the Switch, particularly the minigames requiring you to spin the joystick, a risky choice given the Switch’s notorious Joy-Con drift issues. I also had issues with a handful of minigames where poor joycon sensitivity made it much harder to play – Sneak ‘n’ Snore where you need to sneak along in a barrel and stop quickly at a moment’s notice just doesn’t work on the Switch like it did on the Nintendo 64, as the joy-con seems way less sensitive to stopping than the Nintendo 64 was. Either way though, the vast majority of the minigames were a lot of fun and the returning maps were a nice nostalgia hit.

With all that said, the game does sometimes feel a little empty. Looking at Nintendo’s other big party game series of Mario Kart, the 5 maps available just pale in comparison to the 48 tracks on the switch – and that was before Mario Kart got a DLC for 16+ extra tracks. The number of maps isn’t exactly bad compared to the norm for Mario Party, normally 6, but it just feels like a missed opportunity for Nintendo not to have released DLC with additional maps and minigames.

As it is, it’s still a great Mario Party as long and if you enjoyed the previous games, this is definitely one of the best.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis game is an excellent addition to the Switch platform, returning classic Mario party mini games from previous releases.

Given that the previous Mario Party for Switch release (Super Mario Party, 2018) required a lot of physical movement (showcasing the then new JonCon’s)- this one goes in the opposite direction enabling ease of play in the standard controller setup (or at least, controller setup that’s preferred by the user rather than forcing JonCon mode like the 2018 release did). This, I imagine, would be a much better purchase for users of the Switch Lite where the JonCons aren’t detachable.

The games are as fun as ever, with older popular games being re-released in the library with better graphics and more logical game play (on occasions).

Overall this is my preferred Mario Party for Switch out of the two, however both have merit on different grounds.

Great (and easier) for younger kids too.
