Really really thin story line that is an excuse for Marvels terrific special effects team to spend 2 hours playing with their toys. It’s OK but it adds nothing to the MCU.
Was expecting a politically correct female based extension of the original black panther. (The same direction as the latest Thor movie.)
Thank you Marvel for not going down that path. Very enjoyable.
Liked the design on the movie but did not like the way the guy just shoved the envelope through my letterbox with the movies in the envelope got a bit damaged.
This movie proves Marvel studios is more than capable of making an epic sequel even if the lead actor from the previous film passes away. My son thinks this movie was just as good, if not better than the first Black Panther movie.
Good film , not MCU best but a solid 7-8.
But the water scenes are way too dark, like you can’t see.
Better picture on 4k but blu ray is brighter just like Eternals was.
A lot of reviewers seem to take this film to task over the pacing and plot, the scriptwriters were faced with a gargantuan problem, the unfortunate death of the lead actor forced a situation rarely seen in the film industry, do you replace the lead or kill off the character? They took the latter path as I think any actor taking on this role would be damned and praised in equal measure. having decided on this, it appears the original plot was kept and adapted into the screenplay. making his sister into the new black panther has to take it’s time, that is why the film seems to dawdle along in-between the action sequences, she has to go through the hero’s journey of self discovery or the plot would look too rushed, a lot of additional footage was added to pay homage to Mr Boseman who made the role his own. what people must understand is, in the Marvel universe each film is a set up for the next one in a series, thus a great deal of plot issues have to resolved before you can move on. having said all that, my wife and I watched this together and found it fascinating and sad, the actors portraying their roles seem genuinely committed and find it difficult to sustain themselves during a very strained shooting schedule, by the end though everyone concerned appeared to get the story in gear in order to make their own mark. I did not expect anything too amazing, but the film was pretty much as I expected it to be, all in all a courageous effort trying to keep all the scenes stitched together and meaningful, as usual, my answer is, if you can do better under the circumstances, write your own plot, plenty of people will pick holes in it. Anyway, the CGI and mechanical effects are up to the usual standard, water is the most difficult, but they seemed to get this more or less right, watch out for Wakanda technology, it’s very close to Federation standards, warp drive next?
Although I thought this movie wasn’t as good as the first one (felt there was something off the entire time. More than one thing if I’m honest) it’s still is worth watching as there are some beautiful moments to be found.
It’s rare that I cry while watching a film (Logan with Hugh Jackman was the last), but this one made me cry THREE TIMES.
Maybe this film will grow on me or maybe not, we will see on repeat viewing.
Rest In Power, Chadwick Boseman.
I enjoyed the movie as a bittersweet experience originally, but when I ordered a Blu-ray copy to add to my collection I didn’t expect to receive it in a used, damaged condition, re-wrapped in cellophane to conceal its previous history.
I contacted Amazon Customer Service, who immediately approved a full refund.
The underlying theme was a tribute to T’Challa / Black Panther: played by the late Chadwick Boseman .
With superb action sequences coupled with a great use of c.g.i the movie, second in the seies stars Letitia Wright as Shuri / Black Panther who comes up against Namor:(Tenoch Huerta ) King of an ancient tribe The Talokan, who live in an underwater city….Namor wats the Wakanda to join him to overthrow civilization and rule….However, Black Panther will not fall nin line, a battle will be fought.
Shuri / Black Panther:has many allies incxluding the charasmatic leader of the mountain tribe the Jabari.
My feelings were that the film was a little overloing which in my view did lead to some slow moments, however, certainly worth a viewing
The 4k was impressive
This is a good film, with some beautiful moments of tribute to the late chadwick boseman, it must have been terribly difficult to film for all of the cast and crew without him. However if I were to be brutally honest with you, the effects in places aren’t the best and I got a little bit bored in others ( I feel awful for admitting that) overall I enjoyed it, well worth a watch. Wakanda forever.
