I bought these sandals 2 weeks ago. Customer service was very good.
I took them to walk the South West Coastal Path so was immediately walking about 14 miles a day in them across all terrains. I did this for 3 days out of the 5 I walked.
The positives are that the sandal is comfortable and gripped pretty well across stone, grass, mud, sand and usual paved surfaces.
The sole is not quite as thick as I expected, but flexes well so you can walk through your foot, almost as if barefoot.
On the not-so-good, they are only adjustable on the first strap across the top of your foot, not behind your ankle or across the widest part of your foot at the base of your toes. I am narrow around the ankle so found they slipped slightly there, and I’m wide across the other part of my foot.
I discovered that they blister if you get them wet too. I had to walk across a rivulet and soon had a big blister on my bunion bone. Because the strap couldn’t be loosened there I then couldn’t wear them the next day which was frustrating. Previously I had much cheaper sandals with 3 adjustable straps that never blistered wet or dry.
All in all, a comfortable sandal that coped well with long walks in the dry, but the lack of adjustability was frustrating and I would be wary of wearing them in the wet again – if it looks like rain take plenty of good quality blister plasters!
I had the first pair for over 10 years, bought them on sale at tkmax because they were going cheap (best buy ever) and when they eventually gave up the ghost (and after few months of trying to mend them with superglue) I had to buy another pair.
The only pair of shoes that I could wear without an excruciating pain at night after doing 3000, 5000, 10000 and subsequently 20000 steps a day. They are Rolls Roys of walking sandals.
Have worn this sandal for years.
Good support around the foot in the right places
Used for hiking trails and street sandal. Hard wearing soles and feels bouncy without a bounce. Adjustable uppers, I have slim narrow feet but these can adjust to slightly winder.
Good price, can pay 90 so this a good deal.
Written by my wife: I’ve worn these every summer/nice day for the last 3 years. I cover many miles a day averaging around 20000 steps daily. They are super comfy, keeping my feet cool and giving me great support. I wouldn’t hesitate in buying another pair when I need to.
Good quality, very comfortable.
I’d say the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever owned.
I’ve worn them on a few short walks already and I wasn’t disappointed.
Time will tell if they wear well, but at the moment I have no reason to doubt they will.
Bought these walking sandals several times as they are so comfortable. This time I decided to buy my normal size 5 rather than 5.5 or 6 and I have to admit the shoes feel even better at the normal size. This brand of walking sandals are by far the best for comfort and durability in my opinion.
Amazon tells me that I bought my last pair of these in 2011. In the intervening time, these have been my go-to sandal for every summer and every holiday; supremely comfortable as a walking shoe, and good-looking enough that I don’t mind wearing them with a sun dress. Can’t really grumble about the price per wear over 12 years; repurchasing, because the sole has finally started to crumble. The sandal itself is still fine.
This was my first pair of sandals, bought them becouse of good reviews, the ones that came were size 7 but felt small so went to the shop and exchanged for size bigger. It was a great help to walk my Portuguese pilgrims walk, used them for 20 and 27km stretches and they were great uphill/downhill no blisters or whatsoever. Defo taking them on next pilgimidge/hike.
My last babies lasted over 5 years years. They travelled continents, went through water-ways, up mountains, up slippery terrain & were on my feet for about 8 months a year. They fitted well from the start, the Velcro straps never lost their ‘Velcro-ness’. I never had a blister or a sore patch. Importantly for me, my feet always felt ‘secure & supported’. They dried out quickly and didn’t go smelly. Their demise was down to my new pup, who found them irresistible; my fault completely. I’ve researched alternatives & read mixed reviews, so decided to go back to what I trust. No fashion icon! But I have cheaper sandals for that…. these are the ‘work-horses’ of the outdoor walking sandal – and my feet are glad to be back in them 🙂
I must be one of the most difficult people to shoe! Since a child I have liked having my feet bare whenever possible. I struggled with fashionable shoes and sore feet when I was young. I am now seventy so don’t care! Fit Flops are fine and I have about eight pairs. After a very nasty fall entirely due to standing in a deep pothole after getting out of the car when everyone blamed my “silly” Fit Flops and not the pothole, plus touring holidays where the ground is uneven, cobbled, rough etc. I decided to invest in sandals from a well known reputable source catering for older ladies. The sandals were not cheap. They had, like all the sandals I tried, suede inner soles. After trying them on a holiday and getting friction burn and threatening blisters on the balls of my feet….(This was after one short hilly walk) I decided that suede inners were far too painful. I tried other makes, it is surprising how many sandals do have suede inners, so no luck. Then my sister arrived wearing the above sandals in a larger size than mine. She has quite a narrow foot unlike me. I tried them on and oh boy did they feel good. So I sent for a smaller size with fingers crossed. There is plenty of adjustment on the sandal. The inner sole does not rub. The reason is simple, aside from not being suede the sandal is designed to hold your foot, firmly but comfortably so it doesn’t move around or backwards and forwards up and down hills. It is like having your feet hugged securely and safely. So, if you are still, reading this you will have gathered that one fussy, hard to suit customer is pleased! You may be too.
