Looks good. Frosted glass is nice. Problem though was the bottom screw and thread to secure the main body to the plate not up to the job. Fortunately I was screwing it onto wood so just used a decking screw. If attaching to brick it would be a problem and probably a retu

Instructions as to removing cover not given clearly. However good quality for price and relatively easy to fit.
Would recommend using wire detector as fixing screw positions could be close to electric supply.
Replaced lights on balcony that had their covers pecked away by nesting birds nearby; Glass fitments should prevent this happening!!

Great value, well packed and easy to fit – a larger cable grommet would be even better, but for 15 I really cant complain, once fitted it looks like it cost a lot more !

Bought this to replace my exsisting IR Sensor Light.

I needed to get rid of my old light as it was falling apart, wanted a light that didn’t have a motion sensor as I have a Ring doorbell, so I would put a smart bulb in this fitting and get the RING doorbell to control the light via Alexa.

Build quality is very good with glass panels and a well moulded metal casing(Not too tinny either) the back plate is very sturdy and does not bend easily.

Would recommend if you want a plain old light fitting for outside your house)

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought 3 of these to match existing lights on our new house. Impressed with the build quality, especially as they were so cheap. Had them up in no time and they look great.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWanted to replace the ordinary filament bulb in a wall light by the front door porch with an LED bulb. The trouble is that most LED bulbs when inverted, with the fitting at the bottom, shine most of their light upward and don’t illuminate the floor, or ground, very well.

As my current wall light is tapered, being wider at the top, I couldn’t turn it up-side-down, so the LED bulb would shine down to the ground.

Hence decided to buy these lights, as they were not too expensive and being parallel can be used up-side-down, so the LED bulb could then be used its normal way up, with the fitting at the top, so as to cast its light downward.

I decided to buy one to see if it would be suitable and it soon arrived, but with one of the three glass panels broken. The single ply cardboard box, without any other padding, had be poked in the side by another parcel.

So I contacted the supplier, The Light Factory, and they duly send another, in the same packaging, although with a fragile labelled tape around it, only this time it arrived with two of the three glass panels broken, perhaps where it had been dropped or thrown.

So I contacted them again and agreed that if they sent me just the replacement glass panels, I would be happy to fit them, but when they arrived they were the wrong size, the wrong tapered shape and wrong 4mm thick clear glass. So contacted them again and have now received the correct replacement glass panels.

There is really nothing wrong with this lamp. It is not the most robust, but has a die-cast aluminium housing and is quite adequate for its intended purpose.

However the glass panels are quite thin, just 2.5mm thick, and are only held in by a metal clip at each end. This is quite sufficient once installed, but seemingly not sufficiently robust for transit and bumping about in just a single ply cardboard box by a typical carrier.

I have suggested to the company that this light needs better protective packaging, to prevent such problems, so I hope they take heed.

I would have preferred it with clear glass, but those available with that are a lot more expensive. Presumably the frosted glass is intended to produce a more uniform light distribution from the rather directional LED bulb.

Anyway if it is not too expensive I may even consider getting some pieces of clear glass from a local store.

However many normal LED bulb are so long that they are nearly at the other of the window panels, so even inverting the light, so the bulb is pointing down, much of the light is still be obstructed by the housing. However one bulb that is reasonably short is the “MiniSun 11w LED ES E27 SMD GLS” Long Life Bulb. For an extra 5 you can also buy this lamp complete with a 7.5W SMD MiniSun LED Bulb.

An alternative bulb I obtained was claimed to be a 12W LED corn bulb. These corn bulbs are much better at shining their light out sideway. It would however seem they are not yet available with a true 12W rating. So far they are seemingly only 6W, with a 12 VA (Volt Amp) rating, not the 12W power rating claimed. I trust this “mistake” is not deliberately intended to mislead.

Anyway this is a good lamp and good value, if you don’t mind the frosted glass and the supplier can deliver it to you without damage to the glass panels.
