I’m not that technically minded but this was a doddle to connect and read (on Renault Modus). It gave the fault reference which I looked up online and then wiped the fault symbol from the dash. I was then able to tell the garage what to fix and saved myself a 100 diagnostic fee!
As a single lady I’m fed up with going to the garage for any little issue and being charged 50 for diagnostic.
I brought this to use myself and it was easy to use and understand.
I have erased the fault, started the car and the fault light was gone so far so good.
Good value for money.
Easy to use accurate saves you money when the engine management light comes on, and you don’t want to spend 25 just for a garage to tell you what the EMU says, even before they try to fix it.!!
Great Tool.
I previously had fault on a front side light bulb that went and for some reason even putting a new bulb in didn’t solve it. Then I found out from my mate who had an ODB reader and was very up on their use that I need to clear the code first.
I’m also aware you can get lots of information regarding how to clear codes should it be necessary on the the internet. So could prove useful in the future.
He did it for me and after that I was on the look-out for a reader for myself in case it happened again.
So I saw this was available and requested it.
I liked the fact that this one is “hard wired” I’d previously tried a Bluetooth OBD reader but it didn’t work at all!
This one arrived in a decently presented box complete with a protective bag very decent instruction manual to get me started.
I tried it in 2 vehicles my Ford Transit Motorhome and Citroen C3 Picasso. Plugging it in it worked straight out of the box.
I was able to read all the various pages and it worked without issue and it read all the data and I was able to read any stored errors, fortunately either were not any! . Plus the live view running the vehicle was useful.
The functions are very straight forward with basically up/down arrows to page through the various categories . OK to select and Esc to go back.
The readout screen is very clear and information was easy to read. It also returned the Vin number correctly on the Ford.
I tried it on my Citroen. At first it kept saying error, in the end I found out it really needed pushing in hard into ODB output . Once done it read all the functions fine .The only thing it wouldn’t do was get the Vin number though.
All in all no complaints it worked a treat .Its a winner for me.
I also think it is a reasonable price ( 29.99 at the time of the review) and will be a very useful item to have should any more faults occur in the future.
“Long Story Short”
Dont expect this device to show you all errors, its designed to show main and common faults.
If you like to see more detailed faults: it isnt professional tool.
Great built and functionality.
Works as designed and whats in sellers listing.
Value for money 10 out of 10
Identifying my car codes is not a problem now with this handy ODB scanner.
With this scanner, I can decipher the cause of the engine light, interpret codes, get speed data, data flow, engine coolant temperature, etc.
Moreover, the scanner is battery-free and powered by the car via a cable.
The LCD is large and clear and the device connects flawlessly with my car.
Once it displays a fault code, I can easily check and interpret it.
Additionally, the instructions are clear and comprehensible and it supports 6 different languages.
Has certainly saved me some trips to the garage.
Satisfied
I got this car scanner code reader because every now and then I keep getting errors on my car and I don’t know what they mean.
I have had to take my car twice to the garage in the last month due to errors on it and had to pay 15 each time just to have it diagnosed.
But this priced at 29.99 will work out a lot cheaper in the long run.
Its really easy to use.
