Could have been better, i struggled with my internet connection to get it set, but it worked fine for what i needed it after all.
Great little tool.
I may have purchased accidentally some of the extra functions while scrolling down.
Excellent obd2 scanner had tried a cheaper generic scanner that wouldn’t read the dtc codes on my Nissan Navara. Bought this it was simple to use tests all systems and easily found the faults on my car.
I must say I haven’t had to use it as yet but my mate borrowed it as he was unable to diagnose a problem with his car brought it back and said it was amazing it had found the fault he was able to repair the car and said it had saved him a costly trip to the garage. Hope I never need it but by the sounds of it a worthwhile piece of kit.
This is nifty device which comes in a nice carry case and looks well made however not so user friendly with additional cost incurred to unlock the full capabilities for this device which is a shame as it is a useful device and a great concep
I’ve previously used cheap OBD readers in the past – they are flimsy and sometimes awkward to use, if they work at all. This one is a higher end product, it comes with a hard fabric case, is made of a higher density plastic than others and just feels ‘better’.
I tried it with several cars, the app needs the serial number and ID, and you need to register with the site.
The app connects via bluetooth to the reader once plugged in and you have several choices.
There are basic OBD functions to read engine information, errors codes plus full diagnostic scans.
I was quite surprised to find it covered a lot of tests on a 2015 B Class, a whole page of abnormal readings from the car’s ECU, most of which looked like I could ignore. The test took a little while to load, but looked very comprehensive, perhaps not dissimilar to the diagnostics at the garage.
It didn’t fare so well with my JDM import Subaru Impreza, just about able to figure out which OBD protocol it spoke and could read OBD error codes – nothing else. On further inspection it looked like it only supported cars from around 2010, so no good for my 18 year old jalopy.
The software seems quite polished, there are a lot of features that a garage would normally perform, usually resetting car electronics systems, like injectors, tyre pressure monitoring, parking brakes, emissions related settings (DPF, EGR), etc which all cost extra – but I don’t have a car with these features covered by the ECU, so not really an issue for me, but would be costly if you intend to do these regularly.
It’s one of the better OBD readers, just not for old cars – I’ll have to stick with my ECUTEK software for my Subaru.
This reader from mucar is made from a hard, durable black plastic and simply inserts into the port of your car. As we all these types of readers, you do need to download an App to access and read the data. This one does come with a handy storage case.
I will say that I am not a Pro when it comes to using these and this one is one of the more complicated, I have come across. This is down to the App itself and the amount of downloadable car brand and model specific add-ons that can be built onto the basic App — in my case a VW Golf. As such, it is more suited to a professional or highly experienced DIYer, than someone like me. It does not mean it cannot be used by a novice, but it is most probably going to be underutilised.
To access a lot of the add-on stuff, there is a fee to do so.
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.
Quite expensive in comparison to many other OBD readers but it seems like a well made thingy, i like the storage box it comes in, a cardboard box would easily be lost or damaged.
It connects to my Samsung phone no problem and once the app is installed it gives me many many readings i dont understand lol.
For me as a home user it is fine, i would be quite fed up if i wanted to use it for several vehicles and had to pay for additional subscriptions
This product is not one of the best tools but is good for diagnosing the car with complete systems, for all EPB, BCM engines … It can be used efficiently with all vehicles to quickly scan the vehicle. The system is made in such a way that after a later upgrade it will be possible to continue using this product, so having a free upgrade for life, I think it is a good investment. Given that for other systems it was necessary to pay annually. The scanner is portable, easy to carry and use when needed.
This is a simple well made plug and play OBD2 fault scanner reader for cars, it connect your phone via the Bluetooth and app.
It can read fault codes on all vehicle makes and models and relay the information back to the app via the bluetooth connection, the app is very intuitive and easy to use for most users.
So far I have managed to check many sensors in my car via this device, such as 02 sensors, live feeds, throttle position, and more.
It comes with a protective carry pouch for the device, the only issue.
My major gripe with this OBD2 is the pay to play function on certain features, I do not like the idea of paying more for additional features when other OBD2 scan reading devices already includes these feature for free.
This item can save your money and also cost you money all depend on how you use it, for example if you have an issue with your car you can easily plug this into the car and it will tell you the problem before you go to the mechanic! so your one step ahead.
Cost your money when you need to unlock some of its features to use.
Compared to other professional OBD2 readers this one is simple, easy, compact and fits into your pocket.
Next to previous OBD2 readers I had contact with this is very similar yet above mentioned a lot smaller, allowing you to use it through bluetooth connection with your phone and app that is downloaded into your phone.
It comes in a nice little protection case which does its job just as it should and everything looks nice and neat.
Connection with the phone was super simple and quick in under 2 minutes. It seems that attention to the details and software was done by the company and everything runs nice and smooth.
Pay to play comes in place when you require additional “special” functions to run through you app. When everything is summed up this device will cost you over 35 which should be taken into consideration.
If you use OBD2 daily and it makes you a living the case of paying more for additional features is worth it but I could not say that if you are personal user only.
Always handy to have one of these around in case an error appears on your dashboard. The device offers a very comprehensive reading however unfortunately some of the more premium features you have to pay for in the App. Reduced to 34.99 at the time of review I think this is a lot more reasonable than the original 59.99 and makes it a lot more appealing for having around in those times of need.
Overall, this is a really good scanner and does all of the different modules you could potentially want, including ones that a mechanic needs such a steering angle sensor. It connects to the phone effortlessly and provides valuable insight like graphs, various displays of live data feeds such as oxygen sensors, Maf, throttle position basically any sensor in your vehicle it will display. The biggest downside is that they charge you for extra features and I don’t like that. If you don’t mind paying 20 use for each extra feature per year go for it. But if going to use it like once a year I would look for something else with free features.
This bluetooth code reader is a tiny device and much more compact and convenient than my old manual code reader. It is easy to connect and use and has some treat features.
The device performs well to read the codes but unfortunately only oil and SAS resets are free. The rest you have to pay extra for which I think will work out very expensive especially considering the device is already almost 60.
Overall this is a very intelligent and efficient code reader but I’m not sure it is competitively priced considering there are so many cheaper options on the market.
I hope you find this review helpful.
The device is good and recognises a lot if the codes when plugged in to car but to be able to do things you want you will need to pay for the extras on the app which in other terms means you will have to pay for it after you purchase this lol. I hope my review was helpful
The built quality of the OBD2 reader is simply great. It is compact in size, came with a casing, and is easy to carry around. It worked well from the functionality point of view and was easy to connect in my car and use. The app was easy to understand and connect. The Bluetooth connection was stable and I did not experience any interruptions. It was able to correctly scan my car.
I have used a couple of other OBD2 readers as well in the past. I can say that this one is premium and I can’t fault it.
However, I am a bit disappointed in terms of cost. It can be good for mechanics but not for individual home users. The device is very expensive already so the app and all functionalities within the app should have been for free but it is not. Paying extra within the application for some other features does not make any sense. There are alternative options in the market in the same price range which does not charge extra.
Rest, it arrived well-packaged as shown in the attached photos.
Overall, it is a perfect device for cars to read and reset fault codes and save money on the mechanics bills.

This is a well built piece of kit but it isn’t a one time purchase. There are Lots of extra costs, designed for mechanics and not homeowners. MUCAR should allow users to access all features on one vehicle only. if they want to use it on a second vehicle they would need to upgrade to access those features on it. I think this is slightly unfair.
These scanners are more used by home owners so I think it’s unfair to limit them to stop mechanics from over using them. Despite this It is a good scanner and does all of the different modules you could potentially want, including ones that a mechanic needs exclusively such as a steering angle sensor relearn.
It seems to instantly connect with my phone and tablets. It does provide valuable insight into the workings of my car offering information you wouldn’t expect. It offers graphs, various displays of live data feeds such as oxygen sensors, maf, throttle position, basically any sensor in your vehicle it will display.
As mentioned, for me, The biggest downside is that they charge you for the extra feature. If you are someone who doesn’t mind paying extra a month for individual features that’s fine but I thought it would be a one time purchase thing.
mucar BT200 OBD2 Code Reader Bluetooth
After owning a professional OBD2 Code Reader, along with a few cheaper handheld versions, I have to say that I was a little disappointed in what you receive for the money. You are supplied with an OBD2 reader that plugs into your cars OBD2 port, this in turn communicates via bluetooth with an app installed on your android or iphone.
The reader is supplied nicely presented in a tough looking box with a slide out drawer, also provided is a semi-rigid zipup storage case. I have had cheaper versions that look similar but I found those to be a little hit & miss in operation. I have to say this appears to be a much higher quality device, hence the rather high asking price. The reader is made from tough looking stiff plastic and appears to be quite durable.
I found the reader was quickly recognised by my phone and up and running within seconds. I do feel for myself and other home users, this may not be suitable as many of the features will cost you extra cash. My existing professional OBD2 Code Reader provides many of those features free of charge, but not so with this device as over time it will continue to cost money.
This appears to be a decent quality OBD2 reader that has everything that you will need in a device like this. Sadly though, many of those features you have to pay for. I’m sure this is aimed more towards garage use rather than for home mechanics.
