The product itself is great and exactly as described. My only negative would be that the packaging was damaged, and the item’s packaging was not made discreet, I.e., the box had photos of the product all over it. So if the item is left on the doorstep (like mine was) anyone walking by could see exactly what you’ve ordered. Other than this, all good.

Needed to use this for our dogs not children so this may not be the best idea to read if you need this for babes but anyway! This was great to use and worked so well! Very sturdy and looks quite smart and the dogs have never got through (so far!). Recommended fully!

It is really easy to install, a great quality product and does exactly what it is intended to do, I no longer need to worry about my little one going up the stairs

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid safety gate and great for the price too!

It does not shut after you, unless you slam it. Easy to open, one handed unlike the other Lindam gate, that you need to manually open and shut. This is so much better. Slam to shut, or shut manually.

we have bought a few stair gates and have found this to be one of the best, some just make the opening to much of a mission while this one provides security with ease of opening for a adult, we would whole heartedly recomend this product.

I purchased this stair gate along with the 7cm extension bracket to put at the bottom of our stair landing. We have two dogs and whilst the older dog knows not to go upstairs the new puppy doesn’t understand this yet. This stair gate is great quality, it has a lift and open mechanism with a locking latch. You can also open the gate both ways so it’s ideal for tighter spaces.

Great product does the job well – nice and secure fittings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stair Gate

I loved this as it was easy to install and stopped my doggies from running upstairs to get up to mischief!!!
You do NOT need to scre it into a wall etc. It uses pressure instead and comes with all tools (spanner) to help make the perfect fit. This has been totally worth the money for my oeace of mind.
By the way, the lock on the gate part looks like it’s out of alignment, but you have to tighten up the gate when installing it and the gate section moves towards the lock. I would totally recommend this purchase.

This gate is one of the easiest baby gates I’ve used. Previously I’ve used the ones where you have the squeeze and pull the handle up to open the gate. As I have rubbish pinch strength, I found it harder to open when holding baby. Also closing you need to make sure the gate is fully lined up before you pull down the handle. With this one you just swing it shut to close. To open simply squeeze the top and bottom. Though the squeeze part is similar to the other gate type, the two parts you need to squeeze on this gate are wider apart, so its easier to open.

Now the gate is secure its great and it’s sturdy! However, this was an absolute nightmare to install. The instructions are complete rubbish and don’t help in any way what so ever. It’s just really confusing complicated pictures which offer no help whatsoever.

The gate fell off in the middle of the night as perhaps it being fitted between the wall and an end bannister allowed for too much flex which allowed it to fall off? I moved it to the bannister one from the end which doesn’t move as much and so far so good. Only downside is it moves the lower bar into the middle of the step which adds a risk for stepping over. Will be keeping an eye on it and seeing if there’s a workaround but in principle quality good, just maybe not 100% suitable to my stairs.

Bought the gate with 2 additional extensions.
The assembly was easy enough, even with the two extensions.

The gate comes with stickers and little plastic shoes that are taped to the wall with the stickers. They stay there to make sure the gate stays in the original position and offer additional push/pull resistance: before the first install, you mark on the walls the position of the four round ends of the gate, and this is where you will put the plastic shoes, where the round ends will fit.

To open the door, you need a thumb-like motion (like using a lighter) to unlock the gate, then you need to lift the gate to move it open. A slanted edge moves the door back into closed position, and the speed at which it happens is enough to lock it back. If you want to keep it open while you’re moving stuff around, you’ll need an object to keep the door put.

Our 1 year old has shaken the door a few times in frustration, and it held.

    I’m happy with this purchase.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHad this gate for quite a few months now.
I have it at the top of the stairs but not directly and off to the side.

Baby has no chance at getting through and won’t beable to open it till she can squeeze the buttons in togeather.

There’s two stoppers on the bottom which I only use so the door will open one way.

While overall I’m happy with it there’s a couple of things I’m not to happy about.

There’s supposed to plastic/foam things to go between the wall and the metel bits that are tightened to secure it in.
Despit measuring I couldn’t fit it in with them on aswell.
Not like my landing is anything special, needs decorating anyway so I’m not botherd about the walls.

But the thing that makes me worry the most about it is the locking mechanism.
When I push the buttons in to open the get they get stuck in.
Sometimes I have to keep pushing them and eventually they’ll spring back out so I can lock the gate.
Now my natural response is to rattle it as I’m going to make sure it’s locked.

Some oil may work, but their shouldn’t be a problem like this on a baby gate to begin with.

But once it’s locked, it’s locked well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needs improvement, but does a great job

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersImportant: This gate is not supposed to be used at the top of the stairs.

This gate allows us to leave the door to our living (play) room open while preventing our baby from exiting. The gate was easy to install and the mechanisms works well. Our 3-year-old cannot open (yet) either. Although it doesn’t require screws, it has these sticky pads which it instructs you to stick to the wall. We live in a rented house, thus I just stuck the pad to the plastic side and left the paper on the side that contact the wall. By tightening the screws (with the included little spanner), the gate is a snug fit in the door and no one has escaped yet. The door can also still close with the gate intact

I wouldn’t trust it at the top of the stairs and neither do the manufacturers. There are multiple pictures everywhere that warn not to use at the top of the stairs. It’s too bad because the gate works well and it would be very useful if it could be reliably used at the top of the stairs. It can be used at the bottom of the stairs safely.

I also thought when I bought it that we could use one gate and move it around. For this gate, that would be quite annoying because you’d have to get the spanner out each time. Thus, we have decided to leave in place and order another gate if we need it elsewhere. Or perhaps find another model that is more easily transported.

Also, I bought these “wall protectors” to use with the gate. However, they are enormous and cannot be used in the door frame. Hopefully the thin foam pads will protect the door frame from the pressure of the plastic and metal parts.

Overall I thought this was a good gate when I’d fitted it. It took only 5-10 mins to understand, fit, and more importantly test & fine tune the pressure pads. Despite the description mentioning this is pressure fit, they recommended you screw & glue (!) the 4 cups to the wall if using this gate on stairs (which 99% of people probably will). In which case why not just buy a screw-attached gate, not a pressure fit, because surely you wanted to avoid redecorating after?? However, I found that at the bottom of the stairs (gap 79cm) it was so solid, it didn’t justify the cups (I pulled & pushed really hard and it didn’t move at all, so I doubt a 1-4 year old could move it!). The gap at the top of our stairs is 82cm (the quoted maximum for this gate, without extensions), and the screw rods tilt a bit at full stretch, so I will look to fit the wall cups there (which give you an extra 3-5mm on each side), and if it’s still not solid enough for me I’ll look at the extensions or a wooden baton for the wall. Even so I would struggle to pull/push it over as it stands now. We bought 2 gates, on 1 of them the handle has immediately become stiffer within a day, as others have found. It looks to be because the rod it’s attached to can flex and put pressure on the inside of the plastic handle. I’m going to try some grease & a bit of jiggling of the rod to see if it helps (shouldn’t have to I know, but otherwise I really like these gates).
