I like this unit because it has a very clear display and seems accurate and responsive to temperature changes. Nice touches also such as the memory of the lowest and highest temperature. This is useful for seeing overnight lows and daytime highs if you’ve been out. 100% recommend, just buy it.
I’ve got two of these units though for some reason the latter one I purchased seems to be stuck with its date in stupid American format (MM/DD). So far I’ve not seen any way to adjust that. This may be a stock distribution issue across regions. I’ve got two of these things and the one I bought first time is in sensible DD/MM format, so perhaps those of us getting MM/DD units later on are being supplied with unsold stock intended for USA.
Another minor issue are the battery requirements: They don’t seem to last long. I was using good Eneloop Ni-MH ULSD (rechargeable) cells, which are nominal at 1.2 volts, however I suspect this device expects traditional alkaline cells at 1.5 volts. The low battery warning comes on, and LCD dims, even when the Ni-MH cells are very nearly at max charge within a week of charging them. The alkaline cells that came with it lasted about 2 months, which is expected for the rubbish usually provided as standard, though having to use good non-rechargeable 1.5 volt cells will accumulate another cost.
Oh also it doesn’t self adjust for when daylight savings starts/ends. No big whoop, but what digital clock from the past two decades doesn’t have this automatic feature?
Otherwise I’m rather satisfied with this product. It’s pretty OK.
I’m very happy with this device. The moment by moment readings seem to be spot on. I’ve been using it in various rooms and in the garage to get a sense of humidity levels in particular.
The only small gripe I have about it concern the minimum and maximum values – a very useful feature. I had hoped that there would be a reset button that I could press every time I put it in a new location. Apparently not. I have to remove the batteries and then reinsert them. That means that I have to update the date and time on each occasion. A minor irritation with an otherwise excellent product.
Great display – temperature, humidity, date and time, all in one little device. Appears to be accurate, though if moved does take a while to update.
Very easy to set up.
All in all, a great little device that does what it says on the box.
I give only 4 for accuracy, because I don’t have nothing calibrated to compare against, but I have a dehumidifier and the humidity is not matching. Otherwise I think I’m gonna buy one more for another room and maybe for bathroom.
I’ve been using two of these Noklead hygrometers for less than a week. Both units show inaccurate max/min temperature readings. My indoor temperatures have known values of between max 17C and min 14C. One of these units showed an incorrect max temperature value of 24C, and a min temperature value of 4C. The other unit displayed an incorrect minimum temperature value of 5C. Current temperature and humidity readings, time and date, all look to be correctly represented. If you are looking to record accurate max/min temperature readings for the last 24H, this product looks unreliable.
UPDATE: After a month of use I have not seen any more issues with the max/min temperatures as described above. I have added two more stars to this review.
Really happy with this purchase easy and clear to set up and use and as far as I can tell it’s pretty accurate helping me to keep on top of the problems of condensatio
I bought this to have around the living room. It has a nice large display to show the values. The touch button to light up the display is nice and useful. Seems pretty accurate.
One thing I noticed is that it is best viewed slightly away from straight on. Viewing straight on, the display looks a little hazy but if you adjust your position to be off-centre it becomes clearer. This is a bit annoying but not a deal breaker.
The min/max reading for the temperature and humidity reset at midnight. It’s not a rolling 24 hr average.
The header says it all. I used this product to do a temperature profile of my home. This allowed me to adjust the program for the central heating system. I have made a 45% saving on my gas bill so the thermometer has paid for itself. The high/low memory function proved helpful allowing me to set the heating times for a +/-1 degree deviation over a 24 hour period. Clock and date displays are handy too.
We purchased this as we moved into an older home that had damp issues. Very easy to set up and use. Gave great accuracy in moisture levels that helped us enormously and the temp levels are very accurate as well! All in all, a great aid for a great price
It shows virtually the same temperature as my room digital thermostat which is very accurate. Please note from the picture they have the same temp but they do not always show the same temp – they sometimes vary by up to a max 0.3.
The digits are big enough but not as big as those on the HTC-1 which I prefer as I can see them from across the room but then again my HTC is inaccurate by 2 so I sent it back. The decimal digit on the Noklead is even smaller and very hard to see unless you are close up. This was a totally unnecessary design decision as there is plenty of space to have big digits.
It has permanently visible Min/Max, useful for me, as I need to know the room temp when I’m dough proofing during the morning hours. You reset the Min/Max by pressing and holding the button at the back.
I like the touch-sensitive light button, it is not something I’ll use often but good to have for the odd occasion.
It has the time and date which are very useful for me. The date unfortunately is American format -month/date.
It is not cheap nor expensive at 18 but I think cheaper thermometers are not accurate.
I will update on its reliability and battery usage.
