As described and as advertised.
6 pack so enough to stake up some tomatoes in the green house or other flowers.
Sturdy to provide good support.
We like the coil at the top as big enough for plants to grow through.
Can use ties for further support of the plants up the stake and/or at the coil.
Easy to put in the soil.
Coated to prevent rusting
Should last a good few growing seasons.
Great if you have a good house plant collection or even good for outdoor potted plants.
The stakes are made out of pretty solid metal that doesn’t bend easily. The pointed tips help it go into the soil easily and they really do support stems to prevent bending.
Although seemingly aimed at single stem support I’ll probably be using them in conjunction to support my peonies once they grow large enough to need them. Unless you really want to go stem by stem more of a cage design seems more natural, that said there is always one or two that escape.
These are as good as any similar supports we’ve bought. Another reviewer complains they’re a bit big and heavy for many indoor plants. We’d agree, but don’t feel that’s their intended use, despite what some of the images might suggest.
They’re perfect for supporting a wide range of single-stem garden plants and couldn’t be easier to use. The supplied clips won’t be suitable for all plants but that’s fine, we’re happy to use ties of our own, where appropriate.
The price is a little high versus the competition, at 15.99 for six, but that’s the only reason for deducting a star. I imagine the price will come down and they’ll be more competitive, in due course
These are very solid, well made plant stakes. They are perfect for keeping a taller orchid upright, or helping houseplants stand tall. They are taller than I expected them to be, so the plant I ordered them for is too small (until it grows a little more). But they are very solid, and would be ideal for my tomato plants later, and for helping a sapling stand tall until it is strong enough to stand alone.
These are sturdy supports but 16 does seem pricey (compared to the price of a cane and a piece of string). But I’m happy with them and they do look quite neat.
Slight concern over the length as by the time you dig into the earth you’ll loose a quarter of the length easily, so will depend on the height of your plants. So be interesting to see how they fair when my garden starts flowering in summer.
I hope you found this helpful. Please let me know if you did.
Pack of six metal plant sticks for indoor or outdoor use. Quite sturdy and a nice dark green colour so it camouflages with the plant and doesn’t look out of place. Good height for lots of plants that might need a little support. The product came with a small bag of sticky backed foam clips that I wasn’t really sure how they worked in conjunction with the stakes.
Despite their length these plant supports are nice and stiff. The ring in the top has a large diameter so should allow a large flower bud like an Amaryllis to grow though. The coating on the rod was well done with no missing areas. The pack came with some sticky backed plastic plant ties that I had no use for.
I got these for my various Orchids, and a number of outdoor plants – including Agapanthus – to help keep the stems upright.
My Agapanthus in particular are in a spot where they’re easily battered by the wind and the flower stems often suffer.
Each support stands at 60cm/2′ so they’re ideal for longer stemmed plants and they’re made of decently sturdy green coated metal wire. I’m not hugely strong but I couldn’t bend them without some real effort.
You’re also given 10 plastic clips which are ideal if you’re using them for thinner stemmed plants like Orchids.
For the current price of 15.99, plus a 10% off voucher, I’m pleased with them 🙂
