The CD player looks great & the sound is of good quality. The Bluetooth & Aux work very well when tested from my mobile phone. The CD player also has USB & headphone ports. The choices of how to play your music are many. However the lid of the CD player is hard to lift open. The players button functions apart from the usual play, pause, skip & volume take some getting use to & the radio function only features FM radio with no choice for AM listeners.
Possibly a bit overpriced for a CD player in this streaming age though it does the job it needs to do well.

I wanted a portable cd player to listen to music in my bedroom. After looking at a few and reading the reviews I decided to buy this one. The price is reasonable and it’s light to move around. I only wish it had a deeper base but for the price one can’t complain. I chose the black and silver which is quite nice PLUS a three years warranty come on this is a bargain. Highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this for my daughter. She bought some CD’s so this looked like a decent system to play them. Works well, doesn’t skip when carried and is easy enough to use. Sound is okay too. As you would expect for a cheap portable cd player. Has radio, Bluetooth and some other features like USB. Not used them, but I’m sure they’ll work as expected. All in all, it’s a decent piece of equipment. Oh, has headphone socket as well which you could also use as a line out into a stereo system and add a CD player should you need to. Over and Out! Rob 🙂

I bought this to listen to music while I’m in the kitchen, for which it is ideal.

It’s small, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

The sound quality is as good as you’re going to get for a product like this within the same price range.

As well as being able to play CDs and listen to the radio, you can also link to any Bluetooth-enabled device to listen to music from that.

There is also a slot to listen to music from a USB memory stick.

All in all, you get a lot for its size and price.

    I recommend it.

eally good quality, not too heavey. it came really quickly and i had no problems. the only thing that kept me from 5 stars is that the aux cord is kind of dingy and doesn’t work too well. the bit that you lift to put the cd in is a bit stiff too. but otherwise it’s grea

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our Usersdecent quality overall, the most annoying thing is that the ‘mode’ resets every time you turn it off. So if you only use it for cds for example, you have to cycle through the inputs every time you turn it on.
Also the lid is a little stiff/resisting. feels a little like you’re forcing it every time you open the CD hatch. But still does the job.

Great item despite these minor flaws. Worth it if you need an adequate speaker with CD, Radio, Aux & bluetooth options.

Bought for my Grandma, she uses it most nights with ease. No complaints yet (fingers crossed).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDid not like the fiddley little push buttons to set up and change functions, the CD lid has to be raised
manually and feels very flimsy , other than that, it is small and compact, the sound is very good on CD and radio, so for the price and with a three year guarantee, good value.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI would have rated this excellent as I love most things about it – great sound, good quality for the price, and I like the compact size – but I can’t say ‘excellent’ when I take into consideration the lid. Why does it have to be ‘forced’ open and then ‘forced’ closed? I can’t see that lasting long. It feels under resistance rather than a smooth closing mechanism, and should really be capable of ‘popping up’ with a press, rather than having to manually lever it up.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI got one to use with mains electricity and then decided to get a second one to use with batteries in the garden! I found that I had a lot of CDs I wasn’t using because I mainly listen to them in the car and I wasn’t driving anywhere during these Covid lockdowns. I didn’t have an up-to-date CD player, so I got this inexpensive Oakcastle one, partly on the basis of the favourable reviews, and was delighted with its performance! Now I’m catching up with my CDs I haven’t listened to for a year.
Addendum: the second Oakcastle CD player/radio is also fine, but the batteries seemed to go quickly, at least for the CD player part, although the radio still worked. (Well, no real surprise there, if you use it for hours and hours!) Be aware that if you are using batteries and it seems to malfunction, it could just be the batteries and it will work perfectly on mains electricity.
