This is a good, useful and safe-to-use slice-and-dice tool, but the printed instructions are not very good, so WATCH THE VIDEO that is in the listing, and you will get the idea.
Works very well. Seems to be sturdy and ought to be durable, but I’ll update this later.
It is handy and easy-to-use if you follow the instruction. Im not sure why but it is stained easily (could just be the carrots I use but it still leave stains after washing it.)
Very easy to slice vegetables and easy to clean, and space-saving. However, the conduit cannot fit even mid-size potatoes or onions. We have to cut them in half before slicing. We are still a big fan of this slicer but switched to their upgrade model with a bigger conduit.
Really cleverly designed device, very safe compared to our older slicer. The ‘chipping’ feature really doesn’t do much better than ‘fries’ in my view but overall it’s really quite impressive.
Downside being that It can be very fiddly to clean. They have provided a small brush to help but it’s barely adequate.
its so easy to use for slicing and shredding etc as the blade is so sharp it cuts straight through no bother and when all is done I just have to rinse under a running tap a lot easier than getting a electric machine out and a lot easier to clean I’m very happy with this purchase and cheap to
I am a huge fan of chopped salad. I lived in Cyprus for a while and I love Greek salad with chopped cabbage, cucumber and carrot dressed with olive oil, salt and lemon. This machine makes it so easy to make finely chopped vegetables. I also use it for onions and the various thickness setting makes it even better.
Sliced beetroot was amazing, I’ve made coleslaw and while I was trying the settings I discovered I could slice potatoes and make crisps!
Understanding the settings is a bit trial and error but I got the hang of it and it cleans quite easily – and stubborn bits easily removed with the brush.
The only thing that hasn’t gone too well so far is tomato. I imagine softer veg would be more difficult.
BUT most important, I will not be grating the end of my fingers or chopping them off as the blade is pretty much concealed when you are chopping and never comes into contact with your hand.
All is all, I use this most days and for me it’s well worth the money!
Hi, I’ve had many slices in the past, but none of them compare to this little beauty slicing with this makes it so much easier where are you can adjust from one mm to 6 prepping your food so much easier and I would recommend it to others. Oh one thing I really like about this your fingers are well clear of the slice
I bought it to cut potatoes for chips, my hands don’t work as they should, this was great for that, but I like thick chips, and the largest cut was still what I would call skinny or fries. Machine worked well, but not thick chip size.
I recently purchased the ONCE FOR ALL Mandoline Vegetable Slicer and it has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen tools. This veg chopper is incredibly versatile and makes preparing vegetables a breeze.
The slicer comes with 4 different cutter modes, allowing me to quickly and easily slice, julienne, shred, and grate vegetables of all kinds. The adjustable thickness feature is also very convenient, allowing me to get just the right thickness for each type of vegetable.
I was impressed by the build quality of this mandoline slicer. The blades are sharp and durable, and the device itself feels very sturdy and well-made. The non-slip base keeps the slicer securely in place while I’m using it, and the included safety guard ensures that I can use the slicer without worrying about accidentally cutting myself.
One thing I really appreciate about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. The blades are removable, making it easy to wash them thoroughly after each use. The device itself can be quickly wiped down with a damp cloth, making it ready to use again in no time.
Overall, I highly recommend the ONCE FOR ALL Mandoline Vegetable Slicer to anyone looking for a high-quality and versatile kitchen tool. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to save time and effort when preparing vegetables, and the adjustable thickness and multiple cutter modes make it a must-have for any home cook.
Fast shipping…as soon as I took the slicer out of the box I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. this is a well constructed, solid kitchen slicer/dicer. easy to assemble and once it is in position it feels very secure, helped by the “suckers” that grip your worktop, stopping any slipping or sliding around. after trying a few different cutting positions, I quickly became familiar with the slicing capabilities of this device. I found it easy to use, even though the instructions could be a Lot Better…just read through them, then use it, you will find it is pretty intuitive once you start slicing.
So far…I have cut Carrots, Potato, Swede and Lemon…all with Great Success…with the skin still on, I was very surprised at how thin I could cut the lemon…Incredible…! to sum up, I would say this slicer is the best thing since sliced bread…! I’m Very pleased I bought it. this is not the cheapest in the market place, but remember, “you only get what you pay for”… if you are looking for a Great Slicer that does the job, I don’t think you will get better one than this one…Highly Recommended…osie
Adjustments are easy and you can change your cutting very easily. No more sliced fingers and reduced waste. Only draw back is the length of your Julian slice is shorter. I hope their next design will give us a longer slice
Very quick and easy to chop things with this Multifunctional Vegetable Slicer, but because the chute delivers the food at an angle, you need to cut your carrots or cucumber into two inch lengths and position them carefully, unless you want oval slices. It also tends to get bits of chopped food stuck in it so you need a good jet of water or maybe use the brush that comes with it to get the bits out when washing it. Overall though, this is very good at chopping and your fingers don’t need to go near the blades so I’m very pleased with it.
Takes about 5 minutes to familiarise yourself with the settings (googling what julienne means) and then it’s easy as pie. I’ve had other cutters that you have to put your full muscle into to get them to cut. This one glides through with barely any effort. So easy. Will be so quick to make some healthy carrot sticks or celery sticks in the morning before going to work or some low fat sweet potato chips. Really pleased with the product so far.
I expect some of the bad reviews are people not understanding the instructions. To change to chips you have to rotate the knob a full 360 degrees until it stops. If you only turn it once so 180 degrees the blades only come out half way which is why people are saying it’s not cutting through things properly. Comes with a handy instruction book that explains the settings.
I was looking for something that would slice fruit and vegetables quickly and consistently. A mandolin was the obviously the thing I needed. However I find them really scary – so many reports of nasty injuries. This looked like a possibility and eventually I decided to try it if it didn’t work out, it was not too expensive! Well I have to say I was very pleased with the result. I got nicely sliced courgettes, the only problem I found was when I used the pusher, it made the courgette slant and I got elliptical slices rather than round ones but I can live with that. The main drawback with this item is the instructions – they are truly awful. I could not work out the way to adjust the blades to know if you were going to get slices or julienne strips I just went with the default setting and hoped I’d get slices! That worked, I’m not sure I will try to change the setting for anything else. The instructions are the reason I gave this 4 stars, rather than 5.
This arrived yesterday and I’ve used it twice.
My first trial was a small baking potato, which fitted whole into the chute. The chopper made short work of turning it into chips, it needed none of the elbow grease that I’ve had to use with conventional mandolines. The chips were very small, though, even on the thickest settings.
The second experiment was on salad, with half a carrot and a cucumber turned into juliennes, as thin as possible. This again worked well, but bits of carrot got trapped inside and were difficult to clean out (which is why I’ve knocked off one star – it’s not as easy as just rinsing under the tap). The carrot stained the white plastic but the instructions tell you what to use to clean it (I haven’t tried that yet).
The chopper and all its parts seem to be very well made and sturdily built – time will tell, of course. It’s far better than any of the other veg choppers I’ve tried, and probably less of a pain to clean too. It does take up a fair amount of storage space.
The 6 page instruction booklet is clear, written in (good) English and illustrated with photographs.
If you’re looking for a veg chopper, this is the one to go for.
