It does what it says. Its plastic and feels cheap but again its not expensive. Ive used a few times camping, it was great. Wish it had a charging indicator.
Missfallen? Nix. Super Lampe fr schmales Geld.
This is a really pretty LED camping lantern that is easy to charge up via USB. It’s easy to use, has decent light output and battery life, and you can also charge it via powerbank if you’re away from home for a few days. Would recommend!
Decent camping lantern:
Battery – quick to charge – decent amount of power and lasts a good time between charges
Brightness – not as bright as some others but perfectly adequate for reading or lighting the inside of the tent or having hanging under the garden parasol in an evening – you can change the brightness but even at the top end its still not super bright
Materials quality – build quality is good – its relatively well made despite being plastic and should stand up to a few dings hopefully.
This is a nice retro design suited well to the inside of the tent for camping trips.
The really good points are the fact that it is dimmable and seems to last for ages but I was rather hoping that it would be a bit brighter at the top end and more than splashproof.
Still, very useful for the camping trips this season.
Great for inside of a tent or something, or maybe a small meal after dark (assuming the bugs don’t bug you). Great battery life, very light weight, and easy to use. I do wish it had a bit less decoration as there are a lot of shadows you get out of this, but that might just be me. Overall a good product especially for camping.
This retro-styled lantern is great for camping. Rechargeable via USB-C, the light lasts between 8-85 hours (depending on how bright you turn it up). Practically speaking, it’s not really usable at the lowest setting, so probably 8-24hrs is a better real world estimate. The light source is a three-sided column of LED lights which gives more or less 360 light coverage.
To use the lantern, It’s a single-dial operation; click to switch on, then continue turning the dial to get maximum brightness. Full power is comparable to a 40w-60w incandescent bulb.
Whilst not waterproof (you can’t take it into a river), there is enough weatherproofing to take it out into the rain if needed. There’s also a small storage compartment in the top of the lantern. It’ll fit a small matchbox (I store the included USB cable in there – but there’s not much room for anything else.
Overall, this is a decent lantern, and will have no problem lighting up a tent. For longer camping trips, you can use a powerbank to top up the power via USB. And it’s really simple to use!
Practical, modern day functional, rechargeable and useful wherever you need some light.
It’s quite big but not as bright as I would like but still does a good job. Like the fact you can vary the amount of light.
Use sometimes at home when on my own to save a bit of electricity.
I like the oldy worldy design of the lantern. It’s easy to carry or hangup and has a stable base for sitting on tables or the grass. It casts quite a wide glow as you can see from the video. You do get a bit of a shadow pattern from the panels but it doesn’t detract too much from the light. The light is also dimable, which always comes in handy. I really love that it’s USB to-C charging. When we go camping I tend to take several power banks that will be able to charge it up. There is also a storage section at the too for cables. We have been using this for quite a while and are yet to have to charge it. According to the instructions it should have up to 8 hours power once fully charged. It works exactly as expected and is a good price.
A nice little IP4 water resistant camping lantern with a built in 2600mAh rechargeable battery. This light is well built and looks the part it’s made from plastic has 3 bright cob LED lights that can be dimmed up or down. The light it gives off is the yellow light that makes you feel warm not fast charging but charges from flat in around 4 hours using the USB C charging cable that can be stored under the lanterns top. This lantern is not just for camping Ideal on the garden table at night or for emergency use at home. Worth every penny and easy to operate
Like a LOT of items on Amazon these days this is a “non” Brand, and certainly not one I have bought before. Its a very compact LED Lantern, and charges with USB. I cannot say how long it took to fully charge, but I left if overnight and it sprung to life in the morning.
Although small it gives off a decent amount of light and is so lightweight it is easy to hang. Very decent indeed.
This is a nice looking cob led retro lantern that is super easy to use , it’s rechargeable with good battery life even on full power, but even at midway it gives off a nice glow and sets an atmosphere that is perfect for camping under tarp or in a tent.
It’s really easy to operate and control the brightness with the turn of a switch , it comes with a charging cable so no need for batteries, it’s waterproof too.
It has a hanging handle too , hang it from your taro or tree branch , I like the retro look , it’s not too heavy because it’s plastic , it’s quite well made though and for the price it’s a nice looking lantern.
It’s not the smallest but it’s easily taken on a camp or looks nice on a garden table or just to have in the home as an emergency lantern.
I feel this lantern is excellent quality, built well and is very easy to use. I like the size and shape of it and I feel the battery life is incredible. It lasts much longer than i expected it would and it’s very simple and easy to recharge when needed. I think the design and style is brilliant and I like that it has the handy storage space in the top. The handle is nice and comfortable for me to hold and is strong and secure. I feel the lantern will last a long time because it’s strong, sturdy and durable plus it’s waterproof! I’m delighted with the brightness of the light and that I am able to dim and adjust the brightness. I find the lantern to be nice and lightweight too and easy to transport. I think it’s very good value for money and I do recommend it. It gets a big thumbs up from me!
Vielen Dank fr’s lesen.
Beautiful design, very powerful.
Very impressed with this handy little contraption! It has a very attractive design. I love it in the cream colour. It has a handle on it to make it easy to hang.
The lamp can be charged via USB cable which saves costs on batteries. The cable even winds up and can be stored in the top of the lamp, this is god send as I’m useless with cables!
The LED light itself is so impressive, at its brightest it’s very bright and I love how it can be dimmed or brightened, if you want ambience!
The ad states that the lamp is waterproof and although I’ve not put it in water I can see from the seals etc. that it will certainly have water resistant qualities.
All in all I definitely would recommend and I feel it’s great value for money.
Once in a blue moon I buy a product that totally exceeds my expectations. Well folks, the blue moon has arrived. The Onite LED Camping Lantern is truly first rate.
The Onite LED Lantern is well made. It is manufactured with ABS plastic, which is very strong and impact resistant. It has a built-in 3.7 volt, 2600 mAh lithium battery that will power this lantern for several days. Like virtually all electronic products these days, this lantern arrived with a USB cable to charge up the internal battery. It does not include a power charger; hence, I used an old white 5 volt charger, which worked perfectly. When the lantern is being charged up, a small red LED will light up near the charging port. See one of my photos, where I digitally outlined the tiny red LED with a yellow circle. When the internal battery is fully charged, the tiny LED light will automatically change color from Red to Green. That is very handy!
This 8 inch tall lantern operated great after it was fully charged. The rotating On/Off switch makes a satisfying “click” when it is turned on, and a “click” when it is turned off. I was also impressed that the top of the lantern will easily come off if you rotate the top counterclockwise. It is a great place to safely store the USB charging cable. I am attaching a photo of the instruction manual for your information.
My camping days are over, but an LED lantern like this one is extremely handy if/when you have a power outage. During a power outage, lanterns are actually much more useful than flashlights. The key is to buy them BEFORE you really need it.
Summary: The Onite LED Camping Lantern is a real winner. It works great, and it is very well constructed. I rate it 5 Stars. Buy it.
Bought this for camping but my two boys love it so much they use it as a nightlight in their bedroom! It is super bright; but fully adjustable so can dim when needed! Great value!
A fantastic camping light but equally useful when the power goes out. We live on a new estate and constantly have power outages while they build more houses. This has come in super handy went in the evening so we have no power. A very bright light that is super easy to operate and not only that but is incredibly lightweight. It charges up in a couple of hours and the battery last ages. I’m really happy with this lamp and would definitely recommend.
Rechargeable LED Camping Lantern.
A traditional looking camping lantern with a twist. The LED light is super bright thanks to the COB (chip on board) technology. You charge the internal battery via the included USB-C cable. I really like how products are now switching to this soon to be standard way of charging electrical gadgets.
The lantern is manufactured from plastic, however it’s really strong and definitely built to last. I particularly like how you turn the lamp on and off. This is done by a rotary dial, this also adjusts the lamps brightness. This raised dial is easy to locate and operate in the dark, even with cold hands. The lantern as a wide and stable base, or you can hang from the metal handle.
Finally the top of the lantern can screw off, this is perfect for storing the charging cable or hiding small valuables.
The light is super – lots of light and you can turn it down if needed.
Much better than any of my torches.
I love the fact it is rechargeable.
I will be using it to walk down my path to my garage and then in the garage, which does not have any electricity – (was too difficult to install) – so this will be very useful.
It is on my little table at the back door, look good, and easy to get to go outside.
Very pleased with this lantern.
Such a lovely little lantern has a cable for USB charging and the light can be dim or bright. It’s made from durable material’s. It’s a great piece for my camping equipment.
As with all electrical goods these days this device comes with USB charging forgoing a standard battery set up. This is great if you have a powerbank on hand for long camping trips. It’s nicely weighted and gives out a bright light. It’s lightweight with a handle to hang up or hold.
It’s a nice build and reasonable at 24.99.
A nice looking modern LED camping lantern designed around an old-fashioned oil lamp.
It’s a nice size and easy to hold and transport. It has a stable base for standing up on uneven surfaces like grass.
The dimmer is similar to that of an oil lamp and is nice to use with a reassuring click when you turn it off. It gets quite bright at max, but useful if you need to see where you’re going in the pitch black.
The bars around the sides do cast a shadow though, unlike it’s shown in the product listing. This is a bit misleading. A common case of manufacturers using stock photos and image editing software to save time and expense instead of doing proper photo shoots.
If anything it is a bit plasticky. Some of the edges are a little sharp and there were a few cases where it’d not been cut from the moulding cleanly, but it’s not that expensive so not a huge deal.
USB-C charging, which I like and the port is sealed so should be fine to use in the rain.
Overall I’d be happy to recommend it.
This is a rather bright rechargeable lantern.
It has a simple twist on/off switch. It is supplied with a short USB cable for charging.
The top twists off the store the cable which is handy.
We have a few rechargeable lanterns but most are small affairs that the bottom of which lights up and so they don’t look like a lantern. This lamp looks like a traditional lantern (OK a plastic one, but the design is traditional) and as such is that little larger than the more modern ones. It charges via usb and the light is controlled by a dimmer switch allowing the level of illumination to be controlled. The battery life, thus far, is good, with the span of life dependant on the brightness. The specs show 8.5 to 85, but you are likely to be at the lower end. However, that, for me, seems more than adequate as we tend to use these in short blasts. The water resistance is against splashes and that needs taking into account.
As camping lamps go this is pretty good overall.
Easy to use, and comes with a USB C type lead for charging it. It took a couple of hours to reach full charge, and while charging you get a red LED that goes green when full.
The lead can be stowed away in the top too, which bayonet fits on with a quick twist. That means you should never lose the charging lead.
Operation is simple, you turn the knob (it clicks from the off position as you turn it) to your desired brightness level. The light is notably warm in tone and the brightest level is good enough to give light in a small to medium sized tent, but for larger applications you might want something brighter or perhaps two or three of these.
Quality is pretty good too, it looks & feels quite well made. I particularly like the ‘retro’ style of this, it looks cool either hung up or standing on a table.
I have to admit I’m not overly convinced I’d have shortlisted it at the price though, it’s currently listed at 24.99. Given the current range and prices of comparable camping lanterns it’s likely I would have overlooked this one when doing some ‘shopping research’.
That aside, it’s a jolly nice camping lantern and works well.
With the increased risk of blackouts this winter, I’ve tried to be a little more prepared and this has included items like this rechargeable camping lantern.
Mine arrived with a near full charge and from 0% to 100% charge, it takes approximately 4 hours and yields a usage time of between 8-85 hours, depending on the brightness settings used.
Operation is very simple – there’s just one dial on the front face of the lamp base and once turned on, you turn the dial clockwise to increase the brightness. The LEDs used are COBs which really are very bright one the lamp is turned up fully. It easily fills a room with enough light to read by. By contrast, at the lower end of the scale, you get a pleasant ambient light on the lower settings.
One of my favourite features is that the USB-C charging cable (supplied) can be stored in a little screw top compartment at the top of the lantern. Cables are so easy to misplace so having this feature is a real plus for me.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic lantern – it measures approx. 8″ tall, making it compact and easy to transport but it really gives out a lot of light!
This lantern looks nice and feels built to a high standard. It charges easily with a USB-C charger that is supplied, you just need to plug that into your USB port adapters and away you go.
The dial for turning the lamp on has satisfying click, and gradually increases in brightness as you twist it. While it does go quite bright and could easily light a room, it’s not going to light something far away like a torch would.
Though untested, it’s waterproof, with a silicone seal protecting the charge port. And the top it off there’s a handy compartment at the top of the lamp that comes off with a twist which allows you to store the charging cable and other small items you may need.
Overall, thoroughly impressed with this little camp light for the price. It would make the perfect addition to any campers arsenal, experience and beginner alike.
5/5
This lantern looks good anywhere, it is small and elegant and has good light intensity, it is rechargeable and light, and you can set the light higher or lower depending on your mood.
Depending on the intensity of light you use it discharges faster, but that doesn’t mean it loses its elegance.
At the moment it is on the windowsill in my conservatory and gives a soft and cozy feeling to the room.
I think it is perfect for all sorts of things, like camping, as a light to put in the shed at night, but I think it is too beautiful to miss.
The base of the lamp is the widest part. The weight seems to be concentrated low down. I think it’s a good, STABLE lantern. The on off switch feels nice and gives a good range of intensity. At its brightest it’s quite a bright lamp. I’ve got the light beige coloured one and I think it’s an attractive thing. Sophisticated and evocative of a different age. Good.
The ‘bars’ which run vertically around the lamp DO PRODUCE SHADOWS. These shadows are a bit irritating especially when the lantern is being carried.
The cover for the charging port is nice. I also like the storage compartment in the top of the lamp. The top cover, along with the handle, unscrews. It undoes very easily but there is a ‘tight spot’ built in to give a positive feeling of when it’s closed.
All in all I like this lantern. I think it’s nicely made too.
I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.
A nice portable camping light. Can be hung up. It’s light weight and rechargeable. I like the dial as you can adjust the brightness of the LED so great at night when you don’t want it so bright. Battery life was ok. On full it lasted 5 hours not the 8 it states but if you turn the brightness down you get more. It quickly charged so it didn’t bother me too much. Seems to be robust enough for every day camping or using it outside.
