Great cat litter that doesn’t give off any smell , hardly any mess and it smells very fresh and clean . After trying other ones this is a premium product and my cat thinks ots purr-fect !!
We are a multi cat household and this is the best product, believe me that we have tried many litters before settling for these pellets. Less mess and less waste as the used pellets can be placed in the recycling
My cat took one-look at this stuff and just pee’d all over it…
On this (v.specific) occasion that actually constitutes a win!
I always try to buy the biggest bag of these pellets (30L) as not always available.
Other reviews mentioned difficulty getting subscription due to the freq. stock issues
(C’mon #Pettex, get out there and start choppin’!)
Only improvement would be if they put a ‘rip-cord’ on one corner for easy-open/pour.
Other brands appear to have harnessed this convenience
(C’mon @Pettex, get out there make it rippin’!).
!
Good quality. I have bought it a few times now and it is good. The best price for wood litter and it always arrives a lot faster that it is supposed to.
I’ve purchased 4 of these large bags because they are brilliant value for money and it’s great to use! It’s last a long while and smells great! I would fully recommend!
Don’t like how it was very late but good quality product that’s why I come back just needs to sort out there delivery times better as had to go but something else untill it arrived so that was an inconvenience but here now thankyou
Would have given 5 stars but I can’t do a subscription for this item so I have to remember to come back every month and buy it instead of getting an automatic delivery like I do with their food
100% buy this product but buy elsewhere. My ‘s and myself are not happy and the litter tray is nearly empty.
The only little downfall for the cat was that bits of the wood also like to get stuck in-between her paws.
I have since been using this regularly having tried other versions that don’t match my original product that I cannot get hold of.
This product has proved more cost effective with purchasing 30kg. As a result I have bought in bulk to cover many months.
I have combated the wetness by mixing it with another paper based litter. It works but overall I just scoop the soiled spots out and replace.
It does a good job with smell control and absorbing, but absorbing is rather messy and wet. Unlike my other pellets I use to buy in a shop that where whitish in colour and larger.
These are not bad but more in price.
I would consider buying again as a no other alternative situation if my local shop still cannot get the 15kg bag in.
I rate this product a good 3 stars.
Hey series of good absorbency and my cats that prefer this one and this also has a much fresher smell to it. For this 30 L bag, we can have two kittens (which would be probably adult size in ordinary cats? as we have two large breed kittens) and this litter last them nearly 2 months. That’s a sieve and top up twice a day and total clean out after 3-4 days depending on if they are in their huge cat palace (as we call it), or indoors more. It’s biodegradable and easy to use, hardly any saw dust residue around the large cat tray (it’s a sieve type system litter tray, all liquids get soaked up by the pellets and fall through into a tray below). We also have a huge honey may ti catch any larger pellets. So the area around their tray is clean. There is no cat pee odour (and we feed our 2 on flat and shellfish). The only time we may get a feint wiff is if we are out all day and evening (v. rare) and don’t shake the peed on pellets through the grill. These turn to saw dust, and get shaken into the tray below. That’s with two kittens, one being bigger than a normal cat. Great value for money. However, should the price go up on this, as the other make did, I will look elsewhere and then probably buy in huge bulk.
I have no problem with the product itself. I have tried several brands of wood cat litter and this is better than most. One advantage is that when wet it clumps to a degree so removing soiled litter from the tray is easier. By contrast the Amazon Basics and Sainsbury’s own brand do not clump at all but turn into damp sawdust. The Pettex Pampuss is also cheaper than Amazon Basics: the former is currently selling at 10.00 for 30 litres compared with 17.58 for the latter.
However, I do have an issue with the long delivery time. My most recent order was placed on 23 January. The delivery window was 25 January – 7 February. It was delivered on 5 February, just within the window but nearly a fortnight after ordering. In this day and age this is simply unacceptable. It is especially unacceptable from amazon, a large part of whose reputation is based on quick delivery.
So reasons would Highly Recommend Trying Pampuss. 1.All cat grit cat gels and such all have that same cat toilet smell we try to avoid from the tray. Even tried the sheets for under the grit everything. Soon as touches pee it releases a smell. But there is then then crap perfume smell and as always the cat smell. Well with Pampuss i never notice The Famous Cat Smell. Its like the pine cancels it out? No idea, but it does!
2. With All Grit it never absorbs everything that comes out of my cat. Always the dribble in the groves of the bottom of the tray. The absorbancy with Pampuss is unreal. Ive yet to have a dribble and this is the 6th 30lt bag ive ordered for one cat.
3. With Pampus cleaning it a bloody breeze. Tuck the try in the bag tilt and let gravity to its thing and its all gone. Nothing stuck on the tray, nothing to maually have to scrub off. With grit clumping or not there is always some stuck to the tray itself meaning ive to use more time gloves and sponges to clean it. Pampuss cut my cleaning in half. Now with a tilt done set the tray down spray it with cleaner sit for 60secs and wipe with 1 square of blitz done, it never leaves anything behind. Life can be just that easy. I believe If you want also which i recommend also is you can recycle the litter just remove the dirt and its free compost filler!
Would like to note since not using scrubbing sponges to remove all things stuck like glue the cats tray is lasting long than usual which saves me time effort and money for a while.
Other reasons to add Pampuss is, with the cat smell/grit smell/ cat pee smell gone from the entire house with this one simple change. I am less paranoid about having family over, i dont feel so anxious that the home is dirty when its in fact scrub every where every day. I can now spot other areas of the house where my cat has marked so now she can be told off and keeping boundaries like this helps with a whole range of things.
So yeah could not be happier with a simple swap in all my life. You can tell by how much ive waffled on about it here but still. You’d be surprised
My cat likes to dig and bury, so I usually put a nice deep lot of litter into the freshly washed and dried tray at the start of the week and then daily separate the usable pellets from the sawdust. I’ve found, provided I use a good depth of litter at the beginning of the week, I don’t need to add litter during the week at all. Additionally, the tray really doesn’t need washing unless there’s been some kind of accidental poop contact. To separate the litter, I push all the litter to one end of the tray, take it a scoop at a time and sift over the empty end of the tray. I have a sturdy carrier bag (make sure there are none of those little holes in it!) by the side which I empty the pellets into from the scoop as I go. You end up with a tray with sawdust in it, and a carrier bag full of usable litter pellets. The sawdust can then be emptied into the bin, the compost, the garden, as you see fit because obviously it’s biodegradable. I agree with the comments where people say, it literally just smells something like a carpenter’s workshop, it’s that woody smell, you don’t smell urine at all. Once the sawdust has been emptied from the tray, I just pour the pellets from the carrier bag back into the tray, level it out with the scoop and it’s ready to use again. Nearer the end of the week you will see the litter level has gone down but there is still plenty for purpose. My guide is that I can’t see the tray through the litter, if the tray shows through, it needs more litter. I sift the remaining pellets at the end of the week, wash and dry the tray, then I pour the sifted pellets in from the carrier bag, add a good amount of new litter, mix it all together and the cat is perfectly happy with this. I’ve had no problems with her refusing to use her tray at all. So if you can spare the time, sifting the pellets from the sawdust is definitely the way forward, you can save yourself a lot of money by doing it this way. As I say, this 30 litre bag will end up lasting me just over two months. I don’t think I’d ever go back to “gritty litter” again! For info, I’ve added a picture of the sawdust you are left with after sifting, and a couple of pictures of the pellets which you are left with after sifting. As you can see there is nothing wrong with the pellets, even though the litter tray had been well used for number 1’s!
