It lives in the room with the black mould, and after five months over winter, I can confirm that the mould HAS NOT RETURNED!! So this instantly gives this device high marks!

The heat, the cooler, the filter… All do exactly what they are meant to do via the included remote. On the subject of the remote, it has a built-in magnet and it sits on top of the device, nice and safe when not in use or when you use the APP.
So from a remote-controlled point of view, it’s a 5*****. But I’ve had issues with the APP. I believe it has to do with my Samsung ZFold.

I’ve been recommending this to everyone for some time now.

It is a well-used filter that I use daily.

    5*****

I had this for three months now. And it’s overall a great product, however not without its quirks.

The build quality is excellent, as you’d expect from Philips and I find the performance very good – whilst I have no scientific ways of assessing the air quality improvement when using this device, I can tell that it does suck out impurities from the room – I had to clean the filter twice already and it’s been full of hair and dust, so I will take this as proof that it does clean the air!

However, I mostly use it as a fan, because well, it’s a very good fan! It’s not that loud, certainly not loud enough to bother me and the fan performance is absolutely excellent. During the heatwave last month it was blasting out at maximum speed and kept me nice and cool – the oscillation function ensures that the air circulates evenly around the room.

The remote control is easy to use and I like the fact that it’s got a magnetic base – this means I can just stick it up on the fridge door and never lose it!

The device has one flaw though – it’s the wireless Wi-Fi / Bluetooth connection. It took me ages to pair it with my iPhone app and then one day it just disconnected and stopped working? I was unable to re-connect it ever since. It’s a letdown, because when the app worked, it was great – I could control the device from my phone and set operating schedules or be alerted about drops in air quality – now I have to rely on the remote control only.

Overall, it’s a great performing device and I like it so much, I decided to buy another one with my own money, despite the connection problems.

It’s a great appliance and I can’t imagine living without it now that I have it.

This arrived well packaged in a branded box. The first thing I noticed was the weight, its very heavy and I personally couldn’t carry it (I have a back problem so I’m not as strong as I used to be). I thought it would be similar to a tower fan but the base is much wider.
I couldn’t get it out of the box,I needed hubby to unbox it for me but once it’s out of the box, it is easy to set up. The instructions are clear and along with the provided remote control you can also download an app, connect the fan to WiFi and control it from your phone.
The filter can be washed which is a good idea as it means no added costs.
Not only does this work as air purifier but it’s also a fan. It rotates like a normal fan but with the added bonus of having different degrees of movement to suit your needs.
I’ve got it in our bedroom and it’s much quieter than my previous fan but if your bothered by the noise (which shouldn’t be a problem) there is also a whisper night time function.
There are multiple function choices, a selection of speeds, timer and even the brightness of the display can be changed so that it doesn’t interfere with your sleep.
I’ve no way of testing the air quality, but I’m taking it on faith that a reputable company like Philips wouldn’t say a product was something it isn’t.
It looks expensive and hopefully it’s built to last, only time will tell but from my first impressions I’ve no reason to think it isn’t.

You could be forgiven for reading the title description of this product and thinking the fan would blow out cold air – it doesn’t do this, it cools only as a result of air movement. This should be worded better as it is somewhat misleading. The fan noise and sleep mode are good functions and the remote, while functional, is not as user friendly / intuitive as control through the app, which itself is good and informative, hence the 4* rating.

I clearly didn’t do my research as this is a lot bigger than I expected to be! I thought it would be a smaller fan I could have in the corner of the room, but it’s really quite large and takes up a fair bit of space. However, once I got over that aspect I have liked this fan.

The air purifying quality is nice, and it acts as a good little heater when it’s cold. The fan also works well though is more just a blameless fan rather than something that actually cools the air down – very similar to the Dyson. We also have a Dyson and this seems much the same.

Similarly to the Dyson, I’m not sure this is worth the money. If the fan cooled the air, rather than just moving it around, then it would absolutely be worth it, but without that feature it just seems a bit too expensive to justify it.

This fan/purifier is good, but my suburban semi is probably too small for it – this is for four bed executive homes with a Lexus on the drive. Not the fan’s fault though and it does a good job. The app is a bit glitchy and it will need a few updates before it is functioning as smoothly as the fan.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have been using this purifier and fan for sometime now, and I’m really impressed with it. It’s been really beneficial to helping us cope with allergies, including hayfever. It also does a good job of cooling, and is surprisingly quiet. We really wouldn’t be without it. Five stars.

I’m really impressed with the Philips Domestic Appliances Air Performer 3-in-1 Purifier Fan & Heater. It’s a great product that really does a great job of removing allergens, virus, bacteria, pollen and 99.97% of particles. The convenience of App & Alexa control is also a great feature.

The first thing I noticed was the amazing HEPA filtration system. It really does a great job at removing allergens, virus, bacteria, pollen and 99.97% of particles. This makes it a great choice for allergy sufferers, because it can help reduce the amount of allergens in the air.

The next thing I noticed was the convenient App & Alexa control. Not only does this make it easier to control the unit from anywhere, but it also makes it easy to monitor the air quality in the room. The app also allows you to schedule cleaning cycles, so you can make sure your air is always fresh and clean.

The Philips Air Performer also has a nice modern design. The black color looks great and the unit is very slim and unobtrusive. It’s also surprisingly quiet, so it won’t disturb your peace and quiet.

    Highly recommended!

I’ve always been a fan of Philips products, they seem to offer that “something extra” about their competitors and that’s no exception when it comes to this purifier, it’s simply next level in build quality and features! The app is intuitive and setup to your smart home assistant is quick and simple. The range of features offer something that covers just about everything you could ever need, it’s whisper quiet in the lower settings and we’ve found it ideal for use in the bedroom for overnight. Overall a fantastic item and definitely worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHaving animals and children I was keen to try this Philips 3 in 1 air purifier out in the hopes of having cleaner air around the house.
    Pros:
    – Controlled via an app – once set up all the features of this purifier are easily controlled via an app which is handy if you misplace the remote control.
    – It heats and cools very quickly.
    – It monitors the quality of the air and displays the readings on the app.
    – It checks air for fine inhalable particles, gas from household appliances & wood burners etc, airborne allergens, and humidity level. The app provides a little information on air pollutants and the what the different levels mean.
    – Various fan settings to choose from including oscillating.
    – It has a child lock to stop little hands from changing the settings directly on the unit just like both my two kids tried to do.

    Cons:
    – It’s much taller than I expected. When this purifier was delivered I was shocked by the size of the box. It’s quite a large unit that is noticeable in any space.
    – The instruction booklet isn’t great. Just use the booklet to scan the QR code to get the app and then follow the setup instructions directly through the app.
    – You can’t make full use of its features without using the app. The remote control is a little useless, to be honest.
    – The price tag seems quite steep. At 549.99 this is one expensive piece of kit.

Overall, this air purifier is impressive. It has some great features for checking and cleaning the air. How well it does this, i can’t tell if i’m honest. But it certainly looks the part and seems to be good quality. The price tag is off putting to me and had i not received this to test out i don’t think i would be willing to pay this sort of price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLike many homes right now, we’re struggling with high humidity levels. We also have two dogs (one, a husky) so our air quality isn’t the best. That’s why I was so keen to try this out.

    Pros:
This heats and cools as well as cleans the immediate air around you
It is so quick to both heat and cool a room
It can be controlled via the app, which gives you an overall score on the healthiness of your room
    You can clean the filter
I’ve not noticed any dent in the electricity costs since using this

    Cons:
This is an oversized model and is definitely noticeable in the room
It’s a heavy price of equipment
The app is tricky to navigate and you do need to rely on this as the remote control included is limited in its functions
I can’t seem to find any info on the cost of purchasing another filter – which isn’t helpful when you want to get an idea of future costs
That is an eye-watering price tag

Overall, I like the concept of it but you will need to choose one room and leave it there in position. This is not just because of its size and weight but more so for the data to work. It’s worth noting this is more air cleaner than fan/heater but it’s great to know to can multi-task. It’s also something you need to set up, leave to get to know your living environment, and for the best results keep on throughout the day.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good concept but quite tricky to navigate

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA nice slick 2-in-1 purifier and fan from Philips, however, I had a very rocky start with it.

When the device arrived, as other reviews mentioned, I was slightly shocked by the sheer size of the box. Imagining it was just a lot of packing, I opened it to find the device is not much smaller, so bear in mind if you plan to put the device in a room that doesn’t have much space. Luckily for me, our living room is larger enough for this device to work its magic.

The device includes a circular LED screen that displays the main functions of the purifier and fan. It can also be switched on/off from the touchscreen. It includes a remote that can be stored on top of the device, a really cool idea however the magnets aren’t as strong as I’d like (enough to hold the remote but just barely that). Then there’s also a way to connect via the Philips Air+ app, which is where the trouble started.

For about 20 minutes I tried connecting via my router, but always got stuck on the last part of the connection. I searched on forums to find that the app doesn’t like router passwords with special characters in them, so with this, I changed my router password (meaning I need to reconnect all my devices using the wifi), and voila, it worked!

So now connected with the app, I got to see all the features available with the device. It’s been easy enough to use the app and choose settings to my liking but also to allow it to run on autopilot. The fan itself can range from 1-10 on the settings, 10 will sound like you’re in a plane but is very powerful. The auto setting goes to 4 which is a very tolerable noise and does a good job overall. The app states it will notify me when the filter needs replacing but would be nice to show me what state it is in at all times so I can be ready for when it needs replacing.

Overall though, a very nice device by Philips, despite the few hiccups I’m excited to continue using this purifier and fan and see improvements to the air quality in my home.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe first thing that struck me when the Philips Air Performer 2-in-1 Purifier & Fan arrived was just how big the box was.
The second thing that struck me was just how difficult is is for one person alone to extract the machine from the box. Seriously, get two pairs of hands for the unpacking so one can push while the other pulls.
The third thing that struck me was just how large the Philips Air Performer 2-in-1 Purifier & Fan is, my previous air purifier which recently died after many years of use was a third of the size.

Once extracted from its box, the wrapping removed from the HEPA filter, batteries found for the remote (none supplied) and the accompanying Air+ application downloaded to my phone it was time to put it to use. The purifier can be controlled with the remote or the phone app which recognised the unit immediately once both were connected to WiFi and once connected I was prompted to download and install a firmware update. The app provides full control over the unit and also a lot of information relating to the purity of the surrounding air. The remote can be attached magnetically to the top of the purifier which is good as it’s less likely to be misplaced.

The fan has two uses, firstly to draw air through the HEPA filter so the air can be purified protecting you from horrors such as “bacteria, viruses, pollen, dust, pet dander, dust mites, mould spores, harmful gases, odours and other pollutants”. Secondly as a bladeless power fan to cool the surrounding air without creating uncomfortable gusts. In the first case the unit is very quite and there’s also a sleep mode which makes it whisper quiet for use in a bedroom. It’s not a lot louder when blowing cool air around the room. The power fan can oscillate in up to 350 degree arcs. My only criticism of the unit is that it cannot warm the air which would have been a wonderful addition for these cold winter days.

The Philips Air Performer 2-in-1 Purifier & Fan is a large unit which may be a consideration if you have limited space. If you have the room for it then you will be rewarded with having one of the best air purifiers on the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars Removes the nasties from the air you breathe.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is really straight forward to use straight out of the box.
First opinion is it’s nice and attractive looking, and bigger than expected.
Now – been using this just to circulate and purify the air in my living room since we got it. Haven’t needed fan function yet (U.K. winter)
It was easy enough to connect to my WiFi – once I had downloaded the app.
I’ve set it on a timer so on 7am – 10pm. It’s clever the AI – it automatically increases and decreases the fan speed depending on the air quality. I’ve attached some screenshots from the app.
Now – as clever as this fan is, and as clear as the instructions are.
It doesn’t tell u if u should leave it running 24/7. It’s good at telling u when the air quality is poor – but it doesn’t tell u what’s making the air quality poor and what I can do to improve that. Ok the fan sorts itself out increasing and decreasing speeds – but is there nothing me as the human can do?
    But – I like this gadget I didn’t know I needed.
The fan speed I have tried on max – and wow it’s powerful. So come summer I’m hoping it will be fab as a fan to keep the room, and my dogs, a bit cooler.
The final pic – I’m not sure where it gets that info from. From the local weather station, or from my device? Some things aren’t fully clear.
But – overall I do like and love this fan.
I haven’t cleaned the filter yet – but instructions look simple enough to follow to clean and change.
I can see this being beneficial if u do have airborne allergies. It’s a good bit of kit.
It isn’t even costing me much on electric at current prices to run – pennies a day.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI personally think that the Philips Air performer 3 in 1 purifier, heater and fan model AMF870/35 is very modern looking. The AMF870 Power cable measures approximately 160 cm in length. The remote is very responsive and lets you control all of the features at your fingertips, But you can also control it from your phone using the Philips air+ app. The display gives you all the relevant information you require, such as fan speed, timer, temperature of the room etc and the air quality which is represented by numbers and a colour bar. Also on the display is a PM 2.5 which is a scale for measuring real-time air quality. Its values vary from 0 to 500. The PM2.5 indication is connected to your Philips Air Purifier’s air quality light ring/bar to inform you in real time about the quality of the ambient air. The different colours indicate the following:* Blue: good* Blue-Violet: fair* Red-Purple: unhealthy* Red: very unhealthy. My air quality in the bedroom once it had done it’s real time testing which is approximately 16 m was red-purple, So I selected turbo mode which purifies the air quickly and within 5 minutes the colour bar had change to blue. The heat function works really well, Which this time I placed the AMF870 in our front room/dining room which is approximately 32 m and close the door and within 15 to 20 minutes these rooms was lovely and warm. The heat mode which can be adjusted between temperatures of one Celsius to 37 Celsius has no adjustable fan speed, But I noticed when I set it to 37 Celsius the fan speed increased slightly. The fan function has an adjustable speed between one and 10, Which at max speed has a good flow of air. Overall I personally think that this Phillips AMF870 is good with all of its functions in one unit, but I was rather disappointed in the lack of information that the manual provides, which has too many pictures, and not enough text to explain anything which meant I had to do some Google researching and go on the Philips support webpage. I hope you have found my video and review helpful.

when the box arrived it was a case of oh no what have I done now, I am well known for under estimating the the size of things.

this is big, you need a lot of room just to be able to unbox it.

Its a very smart looking machine and was easy to set up and get running.

the controls are easy to understand and can be operated via the remote or the app, I tend to use the app.

I have not connected it to Alexa so I can not comment on that function, personally I dont really see the point I run it in auto mode so it just works in the background and changes up the fan speed as and when it needs to. Its very quiet during normal operation and even with the fan or the heater running its not really that nosiy, we have used it with the heater on and been able to hear the TV without needing to increase the volume.

the heater is very good, its a nice boost, our downstairs is open plan and sometimes it can benefit from a little something extra though the heating option is not something that we use regularly, I can see the cooling fan being very handy in the summer.

I really like that you can set the degree of rotation you can even have a full 360 rotation if you wish.

I cant work out how much a replacement filter is as the phillips website wasnt clear about which ones fitted this model (i am guessing because it has just been released) but they appear to be around 80 which is a little bit more than I pay for my upstairs airpurfier but I get the impression that these filters can last up to two years so actually thats excellent value. The app also tells you the health of your filter with a percentage and also gives you a percentage bar to let you know when to clean it.

Overall I am really pleased and would definitely recommend.

Philips Air Performer 7000i is an effecitve device which has the appeal of the hybrid fan and air purifier combo. Using an open-faced design, it purifies the air while also blowing it back out as a fan, or circulating it through an air outlet at the back of the unit. As a fan, the device is powerful enough to adequately cool my living area. What has been the most useful has been enabling push notifications. If the air quality or allergy risk shifts significantly, I’ll get a notification on my phone of the change. While the app is excellent and allows you to control the unit remotely, schedule on and off times, and access a range of other features, the Siri shortcuts are buggy.

It is worth spending the money on. In part it is due to the efficiency of the device being able to oust two fans and an air purifier in one product. But, also the transparency of information through the Philips Air+ app has bettered my quality of life. The air actually does feel fresher. Since powering up the Air Performer there has been a noticeable change to the feel of the air in my home, even in large spaces. According to Philips, the Air Performer covers 70m2 which is Allowing for up to a 350-degree rotation.

Genuine replacement filters is on the expensive side but a singular filter should last a little under two years.

    What we like about it:
    * Dual action fan and air purifier
    * App gives great detail, and a simple way to remotely control
    * Efficient in all ways

    What could be better
    * Voice assistant integration can be buggy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have another premium fan which is a Dyson and this compares very favorably to that model, although this Philips version is a good decade younger and around double the price. This exudes quality.

Everything about it is impressive: its size, the lack of noise, the overall performance and just the sheer style of it.

It’s a doddle to set up. Even with the instructions which are the usual excruciating Philips hieroglyphics, this is extremely straightforward. Just plug it in, connect it to the Wi-Fi, download the app and away you go.

It’s got options for days, but the main ones you need are the fan mode (you can choose between auto, based on the ambient air quality, and any number of other modes, including sleep, which is extremely quiet, and your own choice of 1 to 10). You can use the remote control, which sticks magnetically to the top of the unit, or control operation from your phone via the app.

This is not a heater, it is simply a filtering fan which is designed to cool, monitor and cleanse the air. Living in England, this is only realistically going to be useful during the summer months, but I think it’s going to be a lifesaver in the bedroom when it’s baking hot at night.

This is a seriously expensive piece of kit, but it is gorgeous. I do recommend it if you’re looking to get a fan that is effective, cleans the air and looks amazing.

I’m only slightly dubious about the need to change the filter every 12 months — but I’ll cross that bridge as and when I come to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A big, beautiful beast!

Due to my illness, I need to have a fan blowing on me in order to regulate my body temperature. This has to so, day and night. However, a fan running in the bedroom can be a bit of a pain, especially if it drones or rattles. The other problem is that it can push a lot of dust and impurities around the room. So, this air purifier looks just the ticket.

It arrives in a rather large box. Inside that box is another retail box. Inside that box is another no, inside that box is the purifier itself along with a remote control and some paperwork. Thankfully, the unit itself is not as big as the boxes it came in and stands at just over 3 feet in height. Most of the height is taken up with the bladeless fan, which is very much like the Dyson one.

There’s a display and control section at the bottom of the bladeless area. There is only one button, and that’s the on/off button. The rest is made up with a display of all the function settings, air quality display, and temperatures. There can be a little information overload with this display and may take a little while to understand. Keep the manual handy!

Control of the functions can be via the remote control or via a mobile app. Yet again, the remote control takes a bit of getting used to and in some ways is overcomplicated. Using the remote app via the phone is a little easier and has a more logical layout. If you have Alexa or Google, then you can use that to control the purifier with your voice. It’s not the easiest to set up as the skill doesn’t seem to exist, but the app can find it and download it.

The purifier can work in one of three modes. The most obvious one is the circulation mode, which feeds the air through the back bottom vent and offers all the air cleaning facilities. Then there’s the heating mode, which is the same thing but with heat being added to the air. This can be temperature controlled. Finally, there’s the fan mode, which simple passes the air through the unit. This is the best mode for cooling you down.

A nice little touch for use in the bedroom is that there’s a night mode which keeps the fan running quietly. Also, the digital display will auto dim according to ambient light levels, which is great in the bedroom if lights annoy you.

Obviously, this device is not cheap. It requires quite an investment, but if you need its functionality, then it may just be worth it. You can’t put a price on your health.

Overall, just what I needed. I hope that helps.

This very tall but slim machine that is very easy to set up via a very impressive App .It is very simple and interesting to measure air quality and this will really assist as a health benefit, particularly for people suffering with allergies. The Purifier clears out all those horrible dust mites and floating pet hairs making the air totally clean to breath. I note the filter has a shelf life of around a year, so will need annual replacement. Also works very well as just a fan but it is the Purifier that is key for me, particularly when working from home.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs someone who suffers with a range of serious allergies, including dust and grass pollen, I’ve thought many times about buying an air purifier.

This spectacular looking air purifier by Philips is quite a large device. It comes with an instruction booklet and the initial set up is quite simple and involves removing the packaging from the filter and popping it back into the unit.

There a nifty little remote that will control most of the functions and it can be placed on the top of the unit where it’s held in place by a magnet. This comes with a battery already fitted.

The air purifier displays a clear LCD screen showing the setting, temperature and air quality. There’s an on/off button there and also WiFi connection status.

The Philips Air+ app is easy enough to install and a must for getting the most out of your device. For me though, I found it a little infuriating as the app on my particular phone, wouldn’t connect via WiFi to the purifier at all. I had to download the app again on my daughter’s phone to attempt to connect the device to WiFi. Thankfully it worked on her phone and once connected my phone was able to recognise the connection too.
Sadly, if you should unplug the purifier, it needs reconnecting all over again and if your phone is like mine and unable to perform the task, it becomes a bit of a pain. It would’ve been so much better if the unit had of been Bluetooth enabled instead of requiring a WiFi network.

Once the app is working however, it’s excellent at providing readings for the air quality, humidity and temperature. You can fully operate the air purifier using the app and also take advantage of the auto+ mode which pretty much let’s the device run as needed based on the current air quality.

The air purifier is whisper quiet when on lower settings. Higher settings ( it has up to 10 ) and turbo mode are noisier – much like a hair dryer. There’s also a cool mode which acts like a fan and is perfect for summer months as it’s quite powerful!
The oscillating feature is great and the purifier can rotate anything upto 350 allowing clean air to circulate more effectively.
Energy wise, it’s quite efficient and whilst I’ve been using the auto+ mode, it hasn’t made much of a dent in our daily consumption, even used over several long hours.

This is really an amazing device that has improved my allergies no end whilst using. When the weather warms up and grass pollen season hits, I have no doubts that this will be an invaluable addition to my living room – not just for me, but for my entire family.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works wonderfully - some annoying WiFi issues with app though

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPhilips Air purifier. I have been lucky enough to be able to review this air purifier. I suffer from pollen and dust, I regularly use different air purifiers and always have. This one is an high end model with lots of functions to make it easier to use. I have attached some pictures from the app to show you some of controls and information you can see.

Out of the box, was very easy to connect to the WiFi and link to the app in minutes. You will see mine advised to do a software update, again this was very easy and automatic after connecting to the WiFi and app.
It has an automatic feature which monitors the air quality and compares the outside pollution (I assume from location weather source) to ensure the fan is circulating correctly the amount of pure air.
The background data shows your internal temp and particles in the air to give an indication of when most needed.
The design is very similar to another popular version, the air does not come from the centre but from the sides and lower rear. This design does seem to give a much better air flow and cleaner result. The unit is modern looking user focused, even with quiet running and able to turn the control panel light off.
Unit comes with a remote if you don’t want to use the app however I feel you get the most out of it when you do.
There are 10 power settings a 350 degree turning circle of movement. The app allows for full custom schedule to switch on/off which is great to make sure your home is ready when you return.

It uses a filter designed to last one year, I looked for the cost of the replacement filter however could not see it for sale yet. Hopefully Philips will put one on the market soon.

Overall given the cost of the unit Vs the design and functionality of it, I believe it can justify it self when other leading brands are similar if not more in price. The quiet running and control make it far better than other basic models out there. Would highly recommend for anyone in the market for a good quality unit.
