Yes they are big , but they are easy to take with food just pop in your mouth as you are chewing your food and you will find they are soft to chew and tasteless. No problem.
I don’t know weather these will lower my cholesterol but having to take three a day I really hope so! These tablets are like horse tablets and like others I find them hard to take them unless I break them into three or four pieces.
I’ve been using this product for a very long time however, I never seen the full benefits as I was only taking one capsule per day. After taking two capsules for the last 5/6 weeks I had my cholesterol taken, and it had dropped 0.7, which is the most I have seen in years. I will continue to take this product and once I get down to optimal levels I will then just use one capsule per day as a maintenance.
My cholesterol level was 6.6. I love my food so to strike some kind of a deal with this, I’ll sometimes have one slice of toast with lots of lovely butter, another slice with a spread ( Flore, Benecol etc ) containing sterols. Mix and match a bit, balancing things out, layman’s logic. Regarding the pills, it’s one a day for me. Had some blood tests done recently for an unrelated issue and when reading off the results she mentioned cholesterol level – 5.3. I’d totally forgotten about it in truth, but it was a rather pleasant note, certainly better than being told ‘ your cholesterol’s high ‘ .
The tablets are quite large , if you struggle then you can break them up and swallow the bits. They’re cost-effective, too. No way will I pay the price of those one-a-day yogurty shots with plant sterols in them. Ridiculous price. So, my approach is don’t make yourself miserable by avoiding things you enjoy eating, just balance things out a bit and take something like one of these tablets a day. Not even sure if I need to be using stuff like the spread etc, but in case I forget one, I’ll have the other. Not in huge quantities either, it’s not necessary.
I thought I would try this product after reading a lot of reviews and deciding to experience myself. I bought this along side Red Yeast Rice and have taken them together for the last few weeks.
It is not a huge difference, but a subtle difference in how my body feels that for me makes these supplements worthwhile to my daily routine.
I felt a lot of unhealthy pressure in my system, particularly around my stomach & liver area. I feel like I have less vulnerability, not eliminated but space so along with exercises and a healthy diet that I can make a difference to my health.
So to conclude the affects to my physical health after taking these tablets along side Red Yeast Rice has been subtle but noticeable to me.
I will reorder.
The product itself it’s ok but it doesn’t do what is supposed to!I’m in Uk,women 38y old and my cholesterol in October was 6.1 and along with dieting tried this daily for 3 months,3 pills per day. After 3 months had repeated my cholesterol and SURPRISE!!it’s 6.1!!!Higher!So please don’t get fooled and look after your health. Also,I want to mention that my husband has tried it as well as me since October and he’s one stayed the same! So,I don’t buy this “they may work for someone but not for everybody!”.
So I had familial high cholesterol. Thanks Dad. Total cholesterol usually hovered around the 7.9 level despite all my efforts to reduce it without resorting to statins. Anyway despite having read the positive reviews on Amazon, I had little hope in the sterols working when I embarked on a course of 3 tabs per day 3 months ago. Oh ye of the lttile faith! I have just had my test results from last week. TC down to 4.8 and the all important ratio is 2.1 ! Triglycerides are 0.7! I am beyond happy. My GP when asked should I continue said whatever youre doing keep on doing it! So I shall…..
The good – My cholesterol lever was 7.6 and I was advised to start a statin. I didn’t want this and wanted to try something ‘natural’. The bad – they’re biggish to swallow but I take three at once. The verdict – My cholesterol is now 5.7 after 12 weeks of use.
Just a little bit about me, male 45, reasonably fit and healthy for my age. I live an active life, I dont drink but I do smoke socially. I had a work related general health test which is where I learned that I had high cholesterol, 7.4…high cholesterol is in my family, my mother was over 10 and is on medication for the rest of her life. So to be honest it was no great shock to me that mine was this high despite eating healthily.
I went to my doctors and he just told me to quit smoking and eat better, I’m already a great lover of porridge so that box was ticked however I started to introduce foodstuffs that lower or maintain cholesterol spreds and the like.
6 months later I had the test again, this time it had gone down but only to 6.7, progress yes but not enough.
After a bit of research and following advice I purchased these sterols. I was taking 3 a day in the morning religiously. I completed 1 course over 40 days, and got tested again.
Now I dont expect you to believe me as I cant believe it myself but my cholesterol level dropped to 4.2
I’m continuing with another cycle at 3 a day until I reach 3.0ish then I will switch to 1 tablet to maintain my levels.
Do what you will with that information, but it worked for me, I dont feel any different physically now to having a much higher cholesterol lvl, but I’m happier in the knowledge that it’s being reduced and managed.
I hope you have the same results.
4 weeks ago I had my cholesterol measured at 6.11. My blood pressure was quite high too. I’m 41, I like a drink most days, but I visit the gym 5 times a week for moderate exercise. A second blood pressure test one week later to confirm this high reading, kickstarted me into doing something to address both of these issues.
I decided to purchase these tablets in addition to making some changes to my diet. Including cutting out certain foods and concentrating on eating fibre rich food and other foods with similar cholesterol busting capabilities. To supplement this I have mainly taken 3 of these tablets each day.
A cholesterol test today has shown my level to drop from 6.11 to 4.45. That’s 27% in 3 weeks. I can’t tell you how much of this can be attributed to the tablets or to the change in diet, but regardless, the combined approached has definitely worked. My plan now is to carry on eating a healthy diet (although not so strict) with a view of keeping the cholesterol levels at bay and to re-introduce and eat in moderation the naughty stuff too. I will carry on taking a tablet a day also, as whilst I cannot quantify the exact effect, they most definitely deserve some credit.
