Update: turned out, the batteries aren’t pressing hard enough against the contacts and were not engaging with them. So I unscrewed the battery panel and stuck a thickly folded tiny piece of paper on top of each flat battery, to keep them tightly packed under the battery cover. Worked a treat.
Originally: It’s a lovely advent calendar, full of little Pokemon characters and a cardboard winter scene set up to display them. Said cardboard decs have a little switch at the back and 3 flat batteries included which are supposed to make it twinkle. They didn’t.
Obvs my child does not want to return the set as he is scared he won’t get his characters back.
But for a parent, who spent 45 (!!!) of their hard earned cash, is it unreasonable to expect that for this amount of money the item will work as intended? Feel helpless.
My son will love this when I give him to him. Great that it comes with a separate bit to put the figures on and it lights up and plays sounds! Decent price to!
Bought for my partner who adores all things pokemon and we wanted to bring some festive fun into our lives. Although a good set for the price we bought it for, the cardboard accessories do little to add to the appeal. Realistically though, you’re buying this set for some festive themed pokemon!
First of I’m not sure I would have bought this at full retail price, but for just over 15 is a steal for any pokemon fan in the house. It’s a good decent size and looks to be good quality, as it will be staying sealed for another 5/6 months wont know until then!
My 7 year old was thrilled to get so many figures in this advent calendar to add to his collection. There are 14 x 2″ figures and 2 x 3″ which also have posable parts. They are great quality and have a special, slightly iridescent finish, as well as a few characters having festive accessories in their design. The jingly tune and lights on the included scene are a really lovely touch.
My daughter loves this Advent Calendar. The figures are beautifully painted and accurate. I need to get this again next year- Hopefully they will have different characters. The Diarama is perfect to display the Pokemon.
