It is a good gift, looks cool but there was no instructions so you have to figure it out for yourself – luckily bought for my grandad and he enjoys that kind of thing anyway but can imagine some people not happy with that.
So of the connection points had to be trimmed. Ran out of string towards the end, possible I wasted to much whilst tiring the parts together. Only needed additional string for the over the top and the mast straining ropes. Looks go now it is finished.
A good model kit, value for money and it’s clear on building. I did need to use PVA glue, it does need sanding down but I am painting so needed to be done. A good distraction!
Great little ship, bought for my partner when the rona caused him to be in isolation for 2 weeks abroad. Kept him occupied for a day or so. Struggled putting the sails up but that may just be him not the item!
This has taken my son and I literally months to make and in the end we scrapped the instructions for stringing up the sails and improvised. In the main the pieces are nicely cut and fit well but because it slots together, there have been a few heart breaking moments when the whole things collapsed and we had to start again. Eventually the glue came out for the trickiest parts. However, now it’s done, it looks fabulous and we both feel very proud of it. Good for building patience and resilience as well as ships!
Very good product to do when in isolation however very hard to put together, especially the bottom. Had to buy wood glue to stick some parts together because it kept falling apart.
Received in good time and in good condition. Not sure if the note on the box saying it was suitable for a 9 year old was accurate. I, as an adult, struggled a bit, especially with the rigging.
My daughter and my husband spent ages doing this, really enjoyed it together. Has fairly complicated instructions, if u could call them that (!), trouble was didn’t have instructions for putting the sails on! They got there in the end and school loved it has it on there window sill now!! (It was homework for what they r learning!(
I bought this for my brothers Christmas present so not yet opened it however it is as I expected and sure he will love it. However the only thing is that my delivery date was for the 26th of November by 9pm so waited in all day for it to arrive the following morning. But it looks like good quality expecially for a Christmas present therefor pleased with my purchase
The package came quickly. I was suprised at the size of it. Thinking the size will be a bit large, I opened the box and to my disappointment, the kit took only 1/6 of the box. You could really save up on those boxes if you chose them accordingly to the size of the object. Anyway, the kit was great, even if the the instruction was slightly confusing. Managed to put the ship together in few hours. It was fun.
I love puzzles and craft so when I saw one of these in a local garden centre I was intrigued, the problem they only had the owl. So internet here I come. Amazon was where I came first and so glad I did they have loads. This sailing ship was hard at times especially the sails there is no guide on how to fit them and the picture is only so helpful. I just did the best on the sail as I could and it looks good to me. Other than that the quality is good but you have to be careful when popping the pieces out as not to snap them, also if you are buying for someone younger I would suggest an adult help them.
Good quality and size. Pleased overall but my 9 year old would not’ve been able to do it alone by a long shot!! Good job my husband is good with his hands, practical and a carpinter, otherwise not sure i would’ve been able to do it!
i found this sailing ship an interesting project, I’m 75 years old so fingers not so mobile, still I managed to complete the job after lots of time consuming searching for relative numbered pieces. The picture is not informative enough in it’s 2 dimensional format, perhaps multiple views of the finished article would help, if proper assembly instructions are not possible, although I can’t think why they shouldn’t be. I must say I enjoyed doing this one. One thing, I ran out of rigging cord and can’t get replacement in local craft/hobbies shops, I emailed the suppliers twice but have had no reply from them, perhaps a look at your PR policy is needed Sailing Ship – Woodcraft Construction Ki
It is decent product. Leaves you baffled for few minutes as instructions are not very user friendly. But once you crack it its not a problem. Pictures from all angles would help a great deal even if there are no instructions.
