IuI like these types of straps, the grip is very helpful as I have found with other brands my hands still slip slightly but these are perfect and are not completely stiff so do not haveto be broken in as much as others I have used
Very versatile lifting straps that offer additional grip support on a multitude of exercises. If you feel some of your lifts/exercises are limited by your grip strength, then definitely consider grabbing these.
I recommend going without the straps for the majority of your sets to help train grip strength, but chucking them on for top sets to ensure grip strength isn’t limiting progression elsewhere.
Also, for some people, it’ll be a nice positive that they aren’t branded with XxGYM_ExTr3me*BEASTMODExX compared to some of the alternatives on Amazon.
These are really good and sturdy. Certainly do the job.
Sadly they don’t fit as well for those with small wrists like me. As you can see the Strap buffers up to the black wrist cushion and there is still loads of room on me. That’s my only down side
Good quality but the material is itchy along the edges as they are kinda sharp.
Good price and they do the job. I’ve been able to lift much heavier than without them
I noticed as I was adding weight to my deadlifts, that my hands were a limiting factor. Also there’s the safety concern at the end of the second or third set, that I may drop the bar. It can’t be good for your form either way.
These straps are fantastic. Very comfortable, easy to put on, and easy to wind around the bar, even single-handed. The strap should go under the bar, smooth side to the bar, with the little rubber-bumpers on the outside. This makes it easy to slide left or right as needed, while giving excellent grip during the lift.
They make all the difference. Highly recommended.
I have only had these for 2 weeks, so I am totally unable to comment on durability, but they look strong enough. The near Preeme padding which runs across the back of your wrist gives comfort during use. I have never used straps in my workouts before and my deadlifts were limited to around 55 kg because of aching fingers and four arms by the end of the third set. These straps take the strain from these areas and within two weeks I have moved through the weights and I’m now Dead lifting 90 kg. They are a little fiddly to use until you get the hang of winding them round the bar, but that is nothing to do with this product and just using straps for the first time. All in all I would say a good strong and comfortable product at a good price. As I said before, I have never used straps before so can’t compare these with others but given the type of product, I don’t see what spending more would get you.
Thought I’d come back and write a review after all these years. I would add that the pair I have are so old that the logo and colours are different to what’s in the design now in the photos.
However I’ve been lifting with these regularly (1x a week) since 2012 with a month off here and there over the years and they have not let me down at all. I primarily use them for deadlifts and have been lifting around the 120-140kg over the years for quite a few sets and reps without an issue.
They’re as comfortable as you ‘d expect from the traditional style lifting straps – there willl tend to be a little place here and there that dig in to the bony prominences at the base of my palm but it’s unremarkable given that the sets are only 40 or so seconds. This is mostly due to having really small wrists so my workaround has been wearing wristbands under the straps. Withou the wristbands the actual gel/foam pad almost meet on the other side of my wrist.
I’d say they’re fairly easy to use although sometimes I find it a little annoying how long they are but I’ve just learnt not to completely wrap the whole load of strap around the bar. They’re also super reliable as there’s no stretch or give in them which is important if you’re lifting with less of a clench in our grip and more of a hook style grip.
Being a girl and not wanting to shred my palms on heavy lifts (and not having the strongest grip in the world) I decided to get some new lifting straps. Many years ago I had a pair of rough hide straps which I *loved* but lost and I was hoping that these RDX straps would be a modern replacement.
Well sadly they aren’t quite as good as the leather ones I once had, but they are still very good indeed.
Pros
On the plus side, the RDX straps are made from the usual high quality materials you would expect from RDX.
Like other RDX products they have tried to innovate and improve on the basic lifting strap design, in this case with rubber grips stitched into the strap, something I find to be *very* effective and reduces slipping.
Good length on the straps at over 20″
Cons
Not everyone is going to like the rubberised grip.
They don’t feel quite as durable as a basic pair of leather straps (though time will tell and I’ll update this review over the coming months).
In summary then, these are great straps which are very comfortable and provide superb grip but they might not suit everyone or be particularly hard-wearing.
Four stars (though may be five for some and three for others).
