This keyboard not only looks great, the keys are quiet and very responsive.
You can switch the led from solid to fractured (fades in and out).
Only gripe I have is I can’t change the colour (as far as I am aware) the manual isn’t in depth just a summary of Fn (function) key combinations.
But for the price it’s an excellent keyboard.
I have recently purchased this keyboard again as I now need one for home and work. I have been using this keyboard nearly everyday for the last 5 years and I’ve not had a single issue, the keys have not faded and the lights are still bright, hence now buying another for personal use. I have not used this for gaming but lets be honest if you are serious about gaming you are unlikely to be buying a keyboard for 15, however for daily use I’d recommend it highly
It looks good, it feels good, the key spacing is perfect for my huge fingers, I absolutely love it and the light function is just a welcome bonus. It just plugged and played and I have had no problems so far so I highly recommend
After that, while getting used to having a keyboard sitting on top of my laptop, I started to love how robust and springy the keys are.
the only downside is the USB connector for me isn’t that robust as the wires feel like they are pulling apart inside (it keeps powering on and off). To get round d this I’ve wrapped tape several times around a newly purchased keyboard and I’m waiting for a short extension cable to take the punishment instead of the keyboard cable.
I know that this is a gaming keyboard but I bought this as a work keyboard (so cannot comment on this from a gaming perspective) due to the mechanical feeling as I think that these are much nicer and better to use than a standard keyboard. The product is well packed and when opening is well covered and protected. It is plug in and play so easy USB connection and it is up and running, the lights start straight away and you can flick them on and off, something else that it tells you that if you hold onto FN & the lights button it goes from a constant light to a fading light which is nice especially in the evening. The lights are nice a clear and after a few months still going strong, this includes during the day in which I even sit right by the window and can still see it clearly. The touch of the keys is lovely and they spring back really nicely giving you a really comfortable feel when you are typing. I haven’t had any issues at all with this so would really recommend – and with a price like this how could you complai
Works well and feels fine for typing, definitely value for money. However, once or twice a day ever since I bought it, sometimes it produces multiples of one letter when I type.
(E.g. I type “These” and it lags and types “Theseeeeeeee” on the last e)
Sometimes it lags and doesn’t type the last letter, but leaves multiple spaces instead.
It only happens once or twice a day though and all I do is play games or do work, but this is something to consider.
I just got this keyboard today. Looks good when it lights up. However, the keys started from “N” towards the “?/” is not working. I tried several things but still no luck. Every other key works apart from the ones I’ve mentioned. If someone can contact me to see if there is a solution that would be great, or I’ll unfortunately have to return the item.
Thanks.
*UPDATED*
After getting in contact with the seller, they apologised and said that the think my new keyboard could be defected which is rare. So they said they will send me another one out which they did. The keyboard arrived a lot sooner than I expected and I can now say that all the keys are working great. No signs of defective keys and I’m happy with it, as well as happy with the customer service provided.
Would highly recommend.
I used this for gaming and coding and it worked surprisingly well. You can change the brightness of the keyboard using fn pg up or down and you can turn off the lights using the sun key below shift. You can also change if the keyboard flashes lights slowly or stays fully on by holding fn and pressing the sun key and the keys are nice and feel soft to type. Overall this keyboard is great but the reason why there isn’t full stars is because it would be nice to have more options to the lighting and not just flashing or still. Also only 4 stars because towards the bottom of some of the keys, the paint is a bit splattered and you can see it has been spray painted but from the top the board looks nice and aesthetically pleasing.
This keyboard is excellent for the price. The feel is similar to a mechanical keyboard, but it does feel a bit soft and of course doesn’t sound like a mechanical keyboard. But that’s exactly what I wanted. I work from home doing technical support with people over the telephone, so I didn’t want a noisy keyboard that customers could hear when I’m typing, but I wanted a keyboard that is good for gaming also. This keyboard is great for both situations.
To explain more about the feeling, it really does feel like a mix between mechanical and membrane keyboard. It doesn’t feel mushy or squishy like a cheap office membrane keyboard. The key presses are satisfying and definite.
The RGB is surprisingly good for such a budget keyboard, it has 3 brightness options, and also the ability to switch the RGB off. It also has 2 modes, always-on, or fading in and out (like pulsating). The RGB could be brighter, but the gradient of the different colours from Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink, Purple and Blue looks really nice.
Overall, for a membrane mechanical “feel” keyboard, this one is great and I highly recommend it for budget gamers and office workers alike. 8/10!
Purchased for kids to play Roblox on.
Good Value for money. Lights up as described.
Build quality ok for the price. Doesn’t feel very sturdy, you can kind of see how it was put together. I will see how it long it lasts.
The hole where the usb cable attached to the keyboard is not flush with shell and is loose, looks to of been a defect when manufacturing. I expect this to cause an issue further down the line see screenshot.
Another unit does not have this issue.
Overall for limited use time after purchase it seems to do the job and the lights work well so far.
Just don’t expect amazing build quality for the price. Good rating is dependent upon if the unit is faulty in next few weeks or month.
Recommend for now, if you are after a reasonable priced light up keyboard.
I have waited two months to submit a review, so this is based on more than just a five minute impression. At first I was very impressed with this keyboard, but over time a few ‘niggles’ have emerged which others may find useful to think about.
The light is not single colour, and some colours illuminate more clearly than others. The magenta area is noticeably harder to make out than the green.
I have found the top row keys (1/! 2/” etc) can be hard to see properly unless you are sitting vertically over the keyboard – the light does not reach the very top or bottom if you are at an angle and cuts off the top of the punctuation keys and the bottom of the letters. I like to lean back a little and find this a bit off-putting.
The keys themselves feel a bit spongy, and some have a noticable thump at the end of their travel, leading to a tiring experience – they are not responsive enough for very light touch-typing. I found them too dead and dull. They also jam a bit unless your pressure is strictly vertical – again, leaning back makes it harder to get a sure response.
For the money this is not a bad keyboard, but I cannot recommend it for intensive or prolonged use.
(I have found that the keyboard often does not respond after booting and has to be unplugged and plugged back in again to respond – this may not be the keyboard as much as the particular combo of keyboard and laptop. It may also be due to using a powered hub…)
I like it, but I am going back to a ‘normal’ keyboard and will get a desk lamp for lighting.
overall 4 out of 5
The keys require more effort to push, and because you need to bottom out, unlike a mechanical keyboard, it’s hard to describe this as a mechanical feeling keyboard using a Corsair K70 RGB LUX for a side by side comparison. However, considering the substantial price difference then I would say it’s a good attempt using membrane technology. A real positive is that it’s virtually silent, which is the main reason I wanted an alternate keyboard. My expectations so far have been surpassed when considering it’s only 15 (I’ve seen worse for double that amount).
The lighting is meh compared to what I am used to, and TBH I think I would have preferred a fixed white colour instead of this rainbow effect, but if you just want backlit keys to see what you’re doing in the dark then what is offered will certainly suffice.
I can’t say how long it will last, and will say that it probably won’t like being abused, but it does mention the keys are good for 5 million strokes.
Like others have mentioned they used the American style Enter key, but everything else is UK. This isn’t what I am personally used to, but I’m not finding it a problem when typing. Gamers who use cursor keys and include the Enter key in their configuration maybe more affected by this little snag.
I needed a spare keyboard after my actual mechanical keyboard broke and my usual spare dome keyboard also ended up being faulty so time for a new spare. It’s pretty cheap in cost and looks nice enough. It’ll do me until my next payday when I can pick up a new mechanical keyboard and if I have any issues I have a solid spare just in case.
So this is a standard dome keyboard that has raised keys and back lighting to imitate the look and feel of a real mechanical keyboard. It does an okay job of doing that but the keys feel a lit flimsier and slippery than your standard mechanical keyboards do and if you pick it up it feels lightweight despite the chunky looking build. The lighting looks nice and comes in a rainbow pattern which isn’t very bright but I don’t like it bright anyway, you can set it to breathing or regular or turn it off. No ability to customise colours or anything fancy like that. No programmable macros or anything that I saw in the manual. I think the key is to not expect too much from it.
For gaming the keyboard is a bit small and can be frustrating to use. I regularly mash the wrong keys by accident and typing takes some getting used to on this keyboard. I wouldn’t want to use this as my regular keyboard for a long period of time but as a spare it does the trick and it looks nice, it actually looks like a more expensive keyboard than it is so I don’t have to stare at a cheap looking keyboard for a few weeks until I can get a new decent mechanical keyboard.
So yeah as a main keyboard for a gamer I don’t recommend but anyone looking for a cheap spare or a keyboard for your kids first PC that looks nice then I would say this is a solid buy.
I’ve had this keyboard for around three weeks now, and I can easily say it’s the best keyboard I’ve owned! Granted, I haven’t owned many that I’ve really wanted to, and so I’m no expert but it works, looks amazing and feels great to type on too.
The overall design of the keyboard is slightly slimmer and less wide than a usual keyboard by the fact that the base has been reduced slightly in thickness, and there’s very little border around the keys, this, however doesn’t make it any less sturdy. The layout’s fantastic – all keys are easy to read and decipher even when the back lighting is turned off, and there are signal lights to show “number lock / caps lock / scroll lock” which are obvious and in a perfect place (top right-hand corner). The key to turn the back lighting on / off is easy to spot as showing a small sun-like symbol, placed in between the right-hand FN (function) key, and Ctrl (control) key.
The keyboard’s weight is decent, slightly more than I imagined, but lighter than any regular keyboard.
The colours don’t change or rotate, and you can’t fix them to one specific colour, but to me the full rainbow is what I was looking for in a backlit gaming keyboard, which looks good in full light, but looks even better in darker settings.
The only thing I had to get used to whilst typing on this keyboard, was the Enter key; it’s an oblong shape, so I had trouble adapting to not pressing a little above it while I typed.
On one final note, the wire is shorter than I expected meaning I had to find some extension cords to be able to plug it into the back of my computer, but it works completely perfectly, and that is my one and only downside.
For those worried:
– It came in good time
– It looks exactly as it does in the picture shown
– It’s well packaged and came with instructions to help you set up, along with contact information so you could get hold of the seller if need be (I had no reason to)
– Great quality for the price paid, would DEFINITELY use this seller again 🙂
EDIT – as a quick update, I have now had this keyboard for round about 2 years, and I still use it every single day without any issues. Still as good as the day I got it 🙂
