I ordered this set to help with refining the removal of excess wood from my wooden models prior to finishing off with a fine sanding.

Just what I needed for that interim step between use of a power tool and the final smoothing with sandpaper!

I bought these for filing miniatures but ended up using the larger one to shave a piece off my garage door to stop it sticking. They’ve been great for both purposes.

    Excellent selection of files!
I never knew how much I needed them, until now.
They get a lot of use and still work as if new!
The case makes it even better, for storing.
    Good investment!

I needed a new file and saw this. Well worth the money, a nice choice of files from intricate work to robust work and every shape you would need a file for.

This is a good quality set of files that will cover most jobs you are likely to encounter. The handles are comfortable and fixed in securely. The case holds everything neatly and securely and zips up when you want to move or store them. The only file that isn’t there is a big bastard file for roughing off lots of material but it is easy to purchase that separately.

I only needed a cheap set of files to work on some guitar parts that needed widening. On the first use the handle of the large round file came off entirely. I managed to glue it back on with Gorilla glue and it’s stayed put since.
I managed to complete the task at hand and haven’t had any other handles come off. Maybe it was a one off?

Nice set of files for the price, however two of the smaller files the handles were loose and fell off when removing from the case. overall the item was still usable for what i required.

Very much as it says on the tin! The set of files comes in a nice zip pouch, the files themselves have individual pockets for the tips and elastic straps for the handles to make sure they stay in place.

The files are of good sturdy quality, I’ve used mainly the smaller needle files for miniatures and they’re doing a great job. With care these should last a long time.

I have been battling on the old files all my life so when I saw these I thought why not, a good idea of mine for a change. they do the job very well not the best on the market but very close. they have done everything I wanted them to do just took that little bit longer than a moor expensive set would have done. still a good buy and yes I would buy them agai

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a VERY good set, ok it is not a 100 set to last a lifetime, but for someone who does occasional work such as filing down alloy items in the photograph they are superb.

I was going to buy a metal file, and another set of small files as I had broken one, then I saw this COMPLETE set, come on, how can you go wrong.

    Oh and they work perfectly.

The only small really annoying thing is the zip on the case, it goes too far in and is a real bugger to get back out when zipping up, a small price for a great set and cured with a few stitches.

5.0 out of 5 stars What more do you need

Arrived as expected and the files seem fit for purpose but only time will tell. What isn’t so good is the case and it can only be best described as being “cheap” and “nasty”. The zip on the case was already broke upon arrival so the case doesn’t close properly and the case itself probably wont last long overall.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGood item with a large variety of file sizes and shapes (flat, triangle etc) — which suited me as I wanted a small one, but I usually find I buy just the wrong size or shape to do the job. This pack cured that issue, probably forever! The wallet that is included is great too as I am usually trying to rummage around a drawer or tool box for the item I want. And, as files go, they seem to work well and my door now closes and locks correctly so I’m happy.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersIt’s about time I invested in a new set of metal files having always made do with odd stuff I’d just picked up over the decades. I find the smaller files in the set to be a most useful size as I’ve always soldiered on with ones that were too big for the task and got poor results as a consequence. Some reviewers who have denounced this set as not being as good as ‘such and such’ and ‘so and so’ must be a tad off the beat. For a set of files at this price you don’t expect the fruit from the top of the tree. You, maybe, want something that’ll help do the job for you and then get put away for another occasion, maybe weeks…. months…. or even years later in the humble domestic environments that the rest of us live in. These are definitely of a good enough quality to cover those tasks without any crisis for the laid-back D.I.Y.er that has no interest in the peculiarly alien realm of toolbox snobbery. Having stated that, the pouch that the files come in may only be for initial presentation purposes and you would be better chucking them into a more durable container as the abrasiveness of the files will soon see the pouch off

Really great quality at an amazing price! I checked out quite a few others and they were at least double the price, and offering less files, so this option from Rolson seems a bargain. Having now used them a few times, I am pleased to say that they are extremely well made, so I cannot see any compromises on quality for such an amazing price.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally high quality files set and has been put through its paces by me and the file ridges are still as sharp as new. Really happy with purchase and defiantly worth the money. Just one thing tho is the zipper is a nightmare to get started due to no stitching at the start of the zip so when you pull the zip the whole zip comes with it as there is no stitching at the beginning holding it against the wall. Easily sorted though !

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe file set was received promptly and the files provided are all of good quality as is the zippable case which keeps the files organised. My only thought is that there is a need for an intermediate size of file which could have been part of the set at the expense of a few of the needle files. Otherwise I am pleased with my purchase and will perhaps have to look at buying the medium size files as a separate set??

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGot these to tidy up edges and smooth thing off on my projects, the quality is not the best on the smaller files more so, on the smaller units (on the left part of the case in the picture) i would not put too much preassue as i can see them breaking very easily as they are not the best quality metal.

If you are a person who needs them for work or a serious hobby i would move on but if you are like me and will use them now and again they are great for the price and they come in a case.

If you are a weekend tinker or just need to smooth something off now and again these are up to the task.

Good value files. I have not used these yet but they appear suitable for general DIY and other types of work requiring a file. The addition of a zipped pouch is good as they fit neatly into this and it is useful for carrying around. Not a top of the range product but ideally priced.

By any reckoning this is superb value for money. The files look well made and are certainly fit for general purpose use. The handles are securely fitted and look good too. Obviously no file is indestructible and will wear out quickly if (ab)used on very hard material. It is too early for me to say what these files might or might not withstand. I have used some of the files on hard plastic filler and they worked efficiently giving a smooth finish and did not clog unduly.

The pouch is an important bonus as I do not really want files rattling about loose in my tool box, as they damage other tools not to mention each other. The pouch is well made of tough nylon with a freely running zip around 3 edges. It’s neither a fault nor any problem, but a little care is needed when inserting or removing the files as they are otherwise inclined to abrade the elastic securing loops, as files do.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersPackage arrived very quickly and well packaged, however the box it arrived in was unnecessarily large! Whilst this wasn’t an issue as postage was free, I felt that a lot of resources where going to waste in the sending of this product.
Nevertheless the files function well, and I managed to cut a key with the file set easily.
The pouch itself is durable, however the zips on the outside don’t zip up fully due to design, and the elsatic fabric used to hold the files in place inside the pouch look flimsy.
Overall a very nice set, very reasonably priced!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI’ve now purchased quite a few Rolson items, and have been surprised by the quality they give for their cost; this set of files is no exception.

There are a total of 16 files in the set, a big range of sizes, and I can’t imagine many jobs where there isn’t the suitable size available.

The files themselves come supplied with a zip-up carry case.

Pretty pleased with them, better than expected, and yet another good value product from Rolson.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersEverything looks good with these files i have used them several times and they are nice and sharp. I managed to break one of the needle filesb but that was me being heavey handed and there is a good selection of needle files so breaking one does not cause a problem.
