Living in a country where AC isn’t the norm, I wanted to get a fan to keep me cool during the summer after losing plenty of sleep to hot nights. This fan is amazing and I haven’t woken up sweaty and uncomfortable at all this year! Not to mention it doesn’t use a whole heap of electricity. It was super simple to set up as well – took me about 20 minutes max. Great value for money.
Excellent fan, the only niggle is that even on the lowest setting it absolutely BLASTS air… I used my previous fan for the light breeze while sleeping in the summer, and this is like trying to fall asleep in a wind tunnel. Normally the problem is the opposite! 5 stars.
Not loud, good strength, aesthetic.
Disappointed that the wood effect on the blades were absent at the back of the bladesthis was not the case with the smaller floor fan I bought from this style
Also, the vertical adjustable system has no groves for heights levels- might be tad too heavy for an elderly to bring it higher or lower.

Perfect and because the blades are metal they keep there shape so it is always perfect not like my old one where I had to keep bending the blades to get a draf

Sturdy & well made as you’d expect from the brand.
I got the wood finish one, which in my opinion looks smart.
Very easy to assemble, I had it up and working within 10 minutes.
It moves a lot of air on the high setting, i.e. number 3.
However it’s noisy so if you want one to cool the bedroom whilst sleeping I wouldn’t recommend it.
For use in any other room it does an excellent job.
I’m very happy with it; it cools my large living room nicely.
I think the build quality and it’s effectiveness justify the price tag.
Great fan, very powerful and looks lovely. Only downside is the noise! I had originally bought this for my bedroom, to use mostly at night, but it’s just too noisy for that. So instead it’s in my lounge where the noise isn’t so much of an issue. Assembly was a bit confusing, however a review on here helped and then it was very simple!
Thought I’d just write a quick review of this fan to say how good it is. Easy to assemble, no tools required. Really powerful and pretty quiet unless on full power, which you won’t need to use even though it’s 70 degrees inside.
The breeze from the fan can be felt at 12-15 feet away. The only complaint I would have is the power cord is a little short at 5ft.
Ok.. in London this week in July 22 is insanely muggy and hot. This beauty arrived today and I’m seriously impressed.
It’s only on setting 1.
Setting 2 is so fast we don’t need it on that, never mind setting 3!
We are delighted and we give 10/10.

It looks fantastic, and addition to a room that looks a quality piece of furniture.
It’s quiet and the motor sounds quality, unlike the rickity noisy ones we have had before.
No funny noises or rattles.

Great floor standing fan, it is a bit wobbly as I found the base would work itself loose after some weeks of moving around the differnt rooms as we needed it, used Blue Loctite Thread fastener which did the trick. Great amounts of cool air blown around the room.
This is a great fan, looks really good and solid. It was easy to assemble and the wind it produces is pretty good. It’s got a quiet motor which doesn’t feel hot even when touching it after being on all night. It rotates a good amount and the height adjustment as well as the fan angle adjustment is very good and pretty flexible. It has 3 settings which is where it falls a little short in comparison to another fan that I have which has 8 settings. The issue is that on the lowest setting it’s simply too much. It would have been better to add in a lower speed option. I think that’s the only drawback. In this July heatwave though, it’s definitely serving its purpose. Not had to take it to the max setting unlike some other awful ones had in the past. Definitely would recommend.
Brutally effective fan, even on the lowest setting, so if you want a gentle breeze wafting through the room, this isn’t the one for you, but if you want a fan to shift the air around in bucketloads, and is extremely good at cooling, this IS the one for you. Great design, easy to assemble.
I was a bit wary of buying this due to the reviews saying how loud it is. I went for it anyway and I’m glad I did. I don’t find it too loud. It’s loud on the third setting but I doubt I’ll ever use it that high as it’s like being in a wind tunnel. It’s a powerful fan! Setting 1 is powerful enough and easy to sleep through. Sturdy, easy to ensemble and looks good. Got another one coming to put in another room.
Quite motor but noisy due to wind produced, number 1 setting cools whole room, numbers 2 & 3 like a gale, blow your wig off into sunset, really powerful, best for larger rooms/corner, no remote or electronics/ basic but good quality. (Better if no1 was slower fan speed)
Can confirm with the others- it has both beauty and superb function. At the lowest speed it provides enough coolness on the hottest summer day of the year so far. Haven’t had to try the higher speeds yet. Plus it is very quiet. This will have to be a very important deciding factor for many, if the fan is next to the TV, as it is in our living room.
As for its looks, it is exactly as in the pictures- just super design. They call this model SCANDI, and I can see it looking quite at home in a modern Scandinavian interior (which ours definitely is not!). We bought the black and wood finish model. I’m guessing the white and wood version looks just as cool!
One reason for me writing this review- to say how impressed I was with the Russell Hobbs helpline- in spite of the fact I bought this off Amazon via a private seller (Electrical Shop). I had wanted to buy a fan from a recognisable name, and really glad I did. If they can make decent kettles, I thought, they are likely to make a decent fan. Plus the price point (60.00) was not dissimilar to other makes. It comes with a 1 year warranty but if you log on their website and enter your model’s Serial Number- you can extended the warranty for another year. Therefore another strong incentive. Wish now I had also ordered the Russell Hobs table fan too instead of the Oypla I had ordered at the same time.
Only one small screw needed to assemble fan as all slots together with hand tight fixings, no wobble and feels very solid.
Only point to note is, I was unable to extend the warranty as described with enclosed leaflets as no option in drop down menu on Russell Hobbs website and model number isn’t recognised, but as a established brand I hope nothing will go wrong.
Overall I’m very happy with purchase and would replace with same again.
The power is very good. We keep it on level 1 in our livingroom and it is very very efficient. It has 3 levels and the 3rd is actually pretty loud but what you hear is actually the air. It’s equally strong too.
We have paired this with a smart plug so we turn it on with Alexa really easily.
I bought it because it matched the colors in our room and took a chance but turns out it was a quality buy (it’s still Russell Hobbs). I have checked the rotation of the flow and it doesn’t make any noise either, although we prefer it fixed and not moving.
A suggestion for people whose fans make noises: please make sure you tighten all the screws and twist all there is to twist until firmly in place.
