This is the expansion you need, simply put it’s A2 speed means transferring games between my other drives is so much faster than my old A1 card.
It’s been a few months and it’s going strong, I’ve tested a few games on it now and they all work as though they’re running on the internal storage (load times are not noticeably different).
I got this for my Android based retro games handheld, No issues running roms straight from the card using roms for PS2,PS1, Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Snes, Nes and all the Gameboy flavours.
I always buy these Samsung memory cards. They are very reliable. I’ve never had one go bad yet. Bought this one for a retro gaming handheld. Works perfectly. Great price too. Comes with a SD adapter card if you need it, but I use a USB 3 micro SD card reader in my PC.
Good speeds for handheld gaming without breaking the bank. I have about 6 of these between my Deck and Legion Go – some set up for specific modded games – and I’m happy enough with the read speed. Installing games is obviously going to be slower than on SSD, but that’s the trade-off when using a card.
Bought for dash came. Initially the dash cam failed to recognise it to even format it. So did the test and formatting on the computer and did a bit of read/write data etc then formatting it on the dash cam …. It works now.
I use this in my outdoor security camera. I don’t like to pay for the cloud storage so I used this to capture footage around my property.
I prefer to buy a trusted brand, and this is good value for money. No issues and its been in the camera outside all winter. Playback nice and quick no lag.

The card wasn’t expensive and as it’s made by Samsung you know it’s going to last a lot longer than some of the other cheaper brands available for a similar pice.
Transfer speeds seem to be very quick and I’ve never had a single issue with losing data. I’ve also got the 512GB version in my Switch and that works just as well.
Having purchased and returned a rival branded 512GB SD card (which simply would not work correctly) I decided to try Samsung. I’m delighted to say that not only did it format correctly but it also verified with no errors (time consuming but after the previous experience worthwhile). I’ve now been using it for several weeks (both read and write) with no performance or data integrity issues. Might cost a few pounds more than some rivals but it is worth it if you value accuracy and reliability.
I tested it with the SD card reader embedded in my HP Pavillion laptop of 8 years ago.
It really writes at 80 MBytes per second.
Amazing.
Of course if you write multiple files or you want to make intense I/O as it was an SSD, you will see it is not, however it is a damn good approximation and extension of storage at a cheap price. Quality as this is Samsung. Highly recommended.
I use this 256GB chip in an adapter to increase the memory for a MacBook Air – it holds the micro-SD card in a special adapter that fits into the SD card slot on the right hand side of the MacBook.
It has the correct capacity – and formatted to MacOS in a minute. It came fully packaged in a tamper-proof pack.
Read/Write speeds are way above the V30 spec – I get 80-90 MB/sec for both.
I’m pleased with that performance. Durability will tell over time – that is why I bought a “big brand” chip even though there are “no name” generic options at half the price.
UPDATE – it works so well that I have got a second 512GB card and use it as additional memory in a MacBook using a special holder that fits it flush into the SD card slot. I can easily play 1080p videos from the SD card memory without a hitch. Using H.265 format I can even read and write 8K at 60 FPS from the Samsun card in the Mac’s SD slot.
If it fails inside 3 years I will be back to update my review – but for now I give this 5 stars.
My 78 year old friend got sold a 32gb phone by an unscrupulous sales guy. Needless to say it got filled up fast and became almost unusable. I purchased this SD card for her to see if we could salvage the phone, and it worked perfectly. It slotted in easily, the phone recognised the card immediately. We moved all her photos, files and videos to the card, and also some of her game data. The result was a phone with over 10GB of free memory. That should last a couple years more hopefully.
Great product, Samsung 256GB SD card enabling you to stream more videos & TV Shows or download more apps. Comes with an adaptor too in case it doesn’t fit your device but I didn’t require it for mine which was the Samsung A54 tab lite. Would’ve been perfect if it came with the small pin to open up the SD port as that’s a bit of a kerfuffle.

I bought this memory card to use in my dash cam as the product prerequisites of my camera for recording in 4k required that the memory card needed to be of a certain specification which this matched.
Of course being manufactured by Samsung you know it’s a quality product that will last and for the cost difference of a couple quid versus generic brands was a no brainer for me.
does what it says on the tin, there’s not much more to say about a memory card, I use this in my CCTV cameras and it works well for recording and playback.
I used this 512GB micro SD card to increase the storage on my surface pro laptop. The configuration i have only has a 128gb hard drive so space fills quickly! I added this card to increase my storage to something a little more decent. The first thing i did was create a directory in the main C drive of the laptop called SD Card, i then formatted the card in disk manager using the NTFS format option, then mounted it to the main C drive and the SD card directory. The card is now recognised by windows as part of the main C drive storage space. I was able to install Apps and programmes on the card which ran no issues at all.

Easy to use and has a really good read and write speed that is more than capable of filming 4k in my mini 3 Pro. 512gb might be a bit over kill as the total footage length it can store is nearly 13 hours worth on the card, so with this in mind compared to other brands which are more expensive it’s great value for money! I also like that it comes with an adapot so I can take the mini card straight out the drone and into the PC to download and grade footage
Bought to use in a new action cam that requires a reasonably high write-rate. Tested so far at 4K 30fps and works without issue. 512GB is as much as this camera supports and, at 4K 30fps, provides over 11 hours of recording capacirt. I’ve just bought a second identical card as a spare.
I needed a Memory Card for my mobile phone, because I was running out of storage. I needed a trustworthy brand and a card which can process data quickly. Samsung would never disappoint. Great quality, quick processing, easy to use – you just insert it in the SD card slot.

Great amount of space, works well with all devices I own, from my road angel devices to my switch and my daughter’s kindle. Possibly should get another at least. But all I am saying is. It works in lots of devices rather well. Great speeds and a great amount of space.

Bought two of these 256GB cards in the Prime sales. One for a Sony a6400 camera and the other for a DJI Mini 2 drone. These cards work great in both devices and record video at 4K 30fps easily. They are A2 V30 U3 and as you would expect with these specs, they are made to perform, and they do perform, very well! I am very pleased with these SD cards and would recommend them to anyone wanting to record 4K on their devices.

As an IT Professional, I’ve regularly used MicroSD cards for various purposes throughout my career. These days – if you have a smartphone, it’s likely you’ll need an MicroSD card to store your media. In my experience I’ve had issues in the past with cheaper knock-off brands, but you can always rely on Samsung original kit to be reliable.
This MicroSD is perfect for use in your smartphone, camera or other devices requiring mass storage. The capacity should be suitable for many users, provide good reliability, data transfer speeds and compatibility with most hardware. Some cheaper brands use a form of compression on their cards which can result in unreliability and reduced capacity, but I’ve never found this to the be case with Samsung original kit. Recommended, and good value for money at my time of purchase.

Ordered while it was on offer at 27.99, personally couldn’t really fault the value since some on the market where higher in price for smaller storage capacity.
Ive used the Samsung EVO in the past and never had an issue with the cards themselves the older EVO still works well so was happy to stay with the brand.
Out of the 512GB the card read able to read around 477GB of free storage once formatted.
Speeds of the card was very good i moved over a 50GB file within a few minutes while this card is not the fastest on the market it fitted my needs perfectly.
Overall good value, and reliable brand.
For 512gb I was skeptical something was wrong at the price I paid (about 30) considering that the next option I knew was legit was a SanDisk card for twice the price but it was infact truly 512gb.
The performance is about what I’d expect from an SD card with the highest write speed I achieved being 22 MB/s (if I remember correctly) but that seems to be a limit of my Steam Deck, not the card itself.
I use it as a card for the Steam Deck, and it’s performance is brilliant as I haven’t run into issues running any games on it at all, the only concern I have is that the card gets noticeably warm when downloading games to it but that could be a result of the design of the Steam Deck.

The problem is that the “free” adaptor cost money for sure – it needs to use the resources like any other device – this for sure make them little more expensive than it would be if not include the adaptor.
All the SD cards which I have been bought recently had an adaptor included, but most of them are left not used even once. Only one of the adaptor from my “collection” have been used for the purpose of the use of the SD card with my old Cannon camera but after I sold my old camera it is lying dormant. The production of the anything whatever small and simple costs money and perhaps even more importantly the resources and the energy, even if the CO emissions are minimal – altogether all those adapters which are not used by the most of the customers – they all are bad for the natural environment and because of this are not good for a human species too.
I actually need 1 or perhaps 2 adaptors to make a peace of the mind that I can read/use it when it may be necessary eg. If I will buy the vintage device than I may need the adaptor for it. Overall it is simply unnecessary for provide the adaptor with every single card and this is not about the this particular producer it is about the all producers who are providing the “free” adaptor which is in practice usualy the waste. Waste of money, time energy and resources. I am think that the SD card should be available as the alone product without any unnecessary parts – it should be optional and the software which is written for the purpose of the sale should have built in the option to choose from the only the SD card alone or with the adaptor, this way we can save the planet Earth if we’re going to think about the effects of any action all the time when we’re going to produce something.
