I bought this to use in the dash-cam for my car. It works very well – I have had no problems, no reformatting has been needed. The quality of the video is good and it is quick enough when copying files to my computer.
I always look out for these to go on offer as they are a good brand and seem to keep up with 4k video recording rarely buy anything else as have SanDisk in various formats Sd, micro sd in various gb sizes rarely fail if real with regular formatting.
I have had experience of a range of Micro-SD cards from different manufacturers, but the ones made by Sandisk stand out for reliability and accurate specifications.
The Extreme Pro is one of their fastest cards and I always look out for bargains on Amazon.
When I get a new card I always test its performance using the CrystalDiskMark program and this one passed with flying colours.
I have added a photograph showing the results. I should point out this is the performance on a thirteen year old Windows 7 PC. You might get even better performance with more up-to-date hardware.
Bought to use in my Insta 360 x3. What can I say. It works perfectly in the Insta and I have had no issues in reading or writing to this memory card.
Use a few of these for action cameras and drone footage. Never had an issue with one yet. The specifications on these particular ones are high and they are much more affordable now.
I’ve bought several of these from Amazon and have never been disappointed, very reliable and always 100% genuine cards. I use them in my drone and handheld video camera and they work great, and the free recovery software is great too (although hopefully never need it!).
The SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO is a high-capacity memory card designed for demanding tasks and high-performance devices. It’s often used in cameras, drones, and other devices that require fast and reliable storage. Here’s a brief review of the item:
The Good:
– **Ample Storage**: With 256GB of storage, you’ll have plenty of space for photos, videos, and other files.
– **Speed Performance**: The “Extreme PRO” label indicates that this card is designed for speed. It typically offers fast read and write speeds, making it great for capturing high-resolution photos and 4K videos without hiccups.
– **Durability**: SanDisk’s Extreme PRO cards are known for their durability. They are often temperature-resistant, waterproof, shockproof, and even X-ray-proof, which makes them suitable for various environments and scenarios.
– **Compatibility**: The card is likely to be compatible with a wide range of devices, especially those that require high-speed storage.
The Not-So-Good:
– **Cost**: Higher performance and larger capacities often come with a higher price tag. The Extreme PRO line can be relatively expensive compared to standard memory cards, but it offers the benefits of speed and reliability.
– **Overkill for Some**: If you’re not capturing high-resolution videos or using devices that require such high-speed storage, you might not fully utilize the card’s capabilities.
In summary, the SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO is a reliable and high-performance memory card ideal for photographers, videographers, and professionals who require fast and robust storage. While it might be overkill for casual users, it’s a great choice for those who demand top-notch performance and durability.
These are usually around 70-80 so finding them at 20-30 is a steal!
Tips for Christmas/Present Buyers:
– These can handle 4k Filming if using with a camera.
– The “extreme pro” is similar to the “extreme” however it has faster read/write speeds. Its quicker to copy files, load/ view files etc.
– The “extreme” also handles 4k but I’ve found that they are usually a similar price if there are offers on. The “extreme pro” for 30 is much better value.
– The other one you will come across if you are present shopping is the “Ultra” this one can’t shoot 4k video, only 1080p and has slower speeds than the 2 mentioned above.
Hope this helps any Christmas shoppers!
Top quality SD card for use in action cameras and drones for when you want high picture quality and top speed read/write performance. I have used these for years and they’ve never failed me. This seller has them at a bargain price and with Prime delivery next day, first class service.
Have a sony PS1 xstation (modded to play ps1 games off sd card) and decided to try a cheap card. Game sound would crackle and fmv would stutter. Got a sandisk extreme to replace it and games perform flawlessly now. Taught me a lesson to pay that bit extra for sandisk products.
I ordered these to use with my new Insta 360. I already have so many Cards from SanDisk. It is important to buy from a trusted seller. I have bought so many from eBay and realised that they are fake. I have ultimate confidence in buying from Amazon and I am sure that these will be exactly as good as the ones that. I have bought previously. These really are the premium accepted brand for all photography and video ography and vloggers out there. So don’t cut corners and spend a little bit more money and buy a product from a recognised manufacturer like SanDisk. If the data that you record is important to you and the photos that you’re taking need to be kept safe, then SanDisk is the only choice. I only use SanDisk an for the for the extra money these extreme Pro cards Are the right choice for anybody recording 4K from drones or cameras Because of the fast write speeds, that’s the thing to look for.
I found this card to be perfect for the Galaxy S20, which has the option of a micro SD card to expand the storage. Performance has been great no matter what you do; fast shoot photos/8K video/app storage, etc. Much better value than buying a phone with more built-in internal storage. Also safer, should your phone die, you still have the card to transfer/access any stored content.
SanDisk are my preferred supplier of SD Cards and I have used them in lots of devices over many years, with only one failure. This 256GB card was purchased for use with a GoPro MAX, which is the 360 degree version of GoPro cameras and this card capacity is the largest which this camera can handle.
When initially I put the card in the camera, it wasn’t recognised, so I formatted it on a windows 11 PC using the SD Card Association’s formatting software and then formatted the card again in the GoPro Max camera, using it’s formatting option.
All good and the card is working perfectly.
Fantastic card for use with a DJI MINI 3 pro drone. I tend to buy 64gb cards in case I get a fly away or it crashes into water – this means that if I lose data, it won’t be everything. I know some people recommend 512gb cards – but if I used one of these and I lost my drone, that’s a lot of data to lose! Smaller cards reduce the risk (albeit a little more expensive).
Write and read speed are great and I’ve not had any issues shooting 4k HQ video at 30 FPS. This gives about 2 hours of footage per card – more than enough!!
SD adaptor comes in the box, so easy transfer from drone to PC/Mac.
Do yourself a favour and get a few of these and pop them in your drone bag, just in case you leave one in the computer during transfer.
These are pretty much as good as it gets, if you need a fast microSD card, it’s as simple as that. For use-cases like action cameras, samplers etc., they’re ace.
Make sure to re-format them with the SD Association formatter (a free download, google it) as it can make a real difference to latency.
If you need a card for a continuously-writing application like a dashcam, I’d suggest buying specific high endurance cards. I tend to buy the Samsung Pro Endurance cards for this, which are reliable and good value. However, for applications where performance is the main requirement, these have become my default choice for a reason. Every now and then, I try other brands and lines, benchmarking obsessively, but these remain unbeaten.
When buying, have a think about how much space you need and look at the price per gigabyte. There are often value “sweet spots”, which can give you better bang for buck. In any case, the Sandisk Extreme PRO (crazy name, crazy guy) still represent reasonable value for what they are. Very much recommended.
