SanDisk micro SD cards are a tried, tested and trusted storage solution for my needs. My recent purchase of a 1TB micro SD card is the perfect choice for my new Samsung A54 mobile phone giving me a total storage of 1256 GB
The package comes in two parts – the microSD itself and a larger SD case for… well I don’t know because I’ve never needed it. Regardless, I bought the microSD for my Nintendo Switch storage issue. I decided to go all out and buy a really big storage amount. It really probably wasn’t necessary for me to buy this much storage but I play a LOT of Pokmon and I also plan to try and download some cheap games from the Nintendo Store for when I’m bored and want something different. Very happy with the product. Took me a while to found out where the microSD went in the Switch, but that’s the Switch’s fault, not the microSD’s fault.
Conclusion: you don’t need this much data for a Nintendo Switch. You can easily go a size down. But if you play a lot of games, it’s worth being in the knowledge that you won’t run out of space any time soon. I certainly don’t worry about my games all having to be archived any more.
Bought for a Raspberry Pi 3. Used new Raspberry Pi Imager to write OS to this SD card with no issues. System is now running MariaDB and Python 24/7 and I’ve had no issues. Excellent product for the price.
I liked how i only paid 12 for 128gb of storage, plus an sd card which is very easy to carry around and easy to install in the port! Overall, i give it an 4/5 stars.
I’ve been eyeing up a 1TB SD card for a while to use with a Mister. I’ve been put off by the horror stories of faked cards with much lower capacities and the relatively high prices. Although I was able to get this at a discount I was happy to pay more for the SanDisk brand. I’m glad I did as I had no problems completing a rather long winded full verification of the 1TB and then a successful writing of the image for the Mister. If you need a large capacity SD card I can recommend this one.
I purchased this for my sons nintendo switch, it does exactly what I need it to do. There are cheaper options available on amazon, but decided to go with what I know. Still, not a bad price at all, cheaper than what’s available in brick and mortar.
One of the pair I received went into thermal meltdown shortly after being fitted – burnt finger tips removing it. This was not a ‘copy’ – SanDisk recognised the serial number. Replacements sent as soon as problem was reported and defective put in the post for return – replacements work fine.
Despite what a lot of people say about A1 cards, this one will run any game absolutely fine on your Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Nintendo DS, or any other gaming device you may have.
I have the 512gb version and the capacity and read speed is more than fast enough for the latest and largest AAA titles, and the write speed is very quick also. I was seeing write speeds between 65-75mb per second when transferring my games to it from my NAS over wifi, so I imagine it could even achieve a higher speed with a more direct transfer.
I’ve had it now almost a whole year and it is still running Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Elden Ring and other AAA games very well. If you are a gamer, like me, then unless you can get the A2 “Extreme” version for around the same price (as it is currently 50% off at the time of my review), then I would stick with this A1 “Ultra” version, because you really do not need an A1 card unless you’re transferring large files very frequently throughout the day.
So if you’re maybe a professional and busy photographer, then yes, it might be worth looking at the next one up to save yourself precious transfer minutes. But for most people (including the hardest of hardcore gamers, like myself), this Sandisk A1 Ultra card will be more than enough, and I highly recommend it for both gaming and general storage use. The reliability and durability is also very good and therefore, I’d also be confident using it in a professional capacity.
One small point I’d also like to bring up for anyone with a Steam Deck, like me, is that Steam OS is very finicky, and it will need you to format the card into FAT or FAT32 before you attempt to format it inside the Steam storage panel. After that, it works fine.
I bought this so I can build up my digital library of games on my Nintendo Switch, fitted it into the slot on the console, formatted it and it was good to go, will hopefully keep my covered for the rest of the consoles life spa
I have to admit, I’ve generally stuck with SanDisk and Integral as my main SD providers, I use a lot due to all the handheld gaming consoles I buy / sell. On this occasion, for just an extra few pounds, I opted for an Ultra version to gain a little extra speed and it does make a difference. Don’t go spending extra if you’re only using this on emulation for older titles (8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit etc) but if you’re running games like PS2 and up then it’s definitely worth the extra money. Works a charm with my Pimax Retro Portal console.
A terrabyte of storage for my phone! For an oldie like me this feels like we’re living in the future. I tend to keep increasing my phone storage each year and copying over all my photos etc from the previous card and upgrading each time. I have photos going back a long time and I keep the old sd-card as a backup. For this sort of product I always buy directly from amazon just in-case there are any fakes out there and I tend to choose sandisk as for me they are a trusted and well established manufacturer. Others may be good but their storage hasn’t let me down so far so I keep buying the same brand. I recommend this if you want some serious storage. Make sure to google to check your phone can handle something this big but anything fairly modern should be able to.
Wow what good value for money and to add to the storage on my children’s tablets got two can’t say no at the price I got these for there be smiles at Christmas
Bought this for my son’s Nintendo switch seems to be working fine and twice the memory I would have got if I got the one that says Nintendo switch on. Always used san disk and they last years before any problems
Bought this on 25th November coz I was fed up seeing that annoying low storage icon at the top of my screen. Thought I could move some apps to it and free up space, as I’d tried EVERYTHING else and nothing worked. Managed to move 4 apps to the memory card, the rest couldn’t be moved. At all. (Believe me I tried!) I thought that would’ve helped. Nope. I’m still getting the annoying low storage icon!!
Yes, my phone is a little faster and doesn’t overheat as quickly, but bit disappointed I wasn’t able to move as many apps as I’d have liked.
Instantly recognised upon insertion in Camera BUT Formatting was required before it could be used
Luckily Camera Software did this easily enough, so it us Smiles all around AND I can record it all for Posterity!
As normal, i buy SanDisk, because i know ill never have problems with it. But if your unlucky type, keep the receipt, and you will get a replacement if not from Amazon, but 5 years from now, from SanDisk.
They are grea
Works great in a Raspberry Pi Zero 2w for a Media server with DLNA and web based video player.
Seems reliable enough and doesnt get hot.
Now I can stream loads of movies when powered from the car USB socket or a powerbank as the Pi Zero 2w uses next to nothing in power.
no spinning hard drive or expensive SSD / USB hubs needed, just a very small PC
I bought another disc from Amazon and it was not recognised by any of my devices and had to return it. Bought a SanDisc for not much more and it worked 1st time in all devices.
Too early to to say on reliability but so far it’s working great High capasity and good transfer and read speeds especially with video and raw camera files. Got mine reduces, think it was 27.99, real bargai
Good price but doesn’t come with the full 512GB but still has over 470GB, On first set up on my android phone it gets automatically formatted for use, so easy to use for not the most tech savvy.
I’ve bought this MicroSD Card for my Nintendo Switch as I was running out of Storage, but using this MicroSD Card has allowed me to install all the games I desire!
I even have one for my PC via an adapter because of how large and portable they are.
If you require any space, then this is the right product for you!
Bought these for use in 4 LittleElf security cameras (they install by pointing the camera ball right up and then inserting the SD card in the slot). Had them for a month of two and barely scratching a gig each camera. All the cameras are on maximum sensitivity and take short HD videos about 10-15 seconds a time so plenty of storage for what I’m needing. So overall 256gb spread across 4 cameras is plenty for day to day use.
Of course these cards can be used in other devices (that take SD-Cards) and performance may vary as a result depending on what you intend to use them for.
For the price these are worthwhile cards, I have no issue with them, they are the size advertised and are more than capable of the job I got them for.
