It’s a simple tool so there isn’t much to say. Either it’s a flimsy piece of crap or it’s built good and will hold up. Seems to be in the well built and great tool category. Nothing super exceptional about it but then again it’s a freakin pair of Pliers, not a iPhone. One thing I will say is it could be cheaper. Saw the same type of tool at harbor freight and looked like the heft and quality were just as good for cheaper.
While I certainly wouldn’t put these pliers in the same fit/finish/quality category as, say, snap-on, or even store brands like Kobalt (you can see light between the closed jaws), I would say they’re definitely serviceable and above average quality for their price class.
These are very sturdy, and the grip is great. I needed to fix a part that was coming loose behind the water control in my shower. One way to get to it would have been to disassemble the whole fixture, and I would have needed a bunch of tools I didn’t have. Another way would have been to hire a plumber. I figured this was worth a try.
I really had to get a good grip on the part, and these allowed that. It took a lot of patience, but it worked! (Wish Amazon sold patience.)
My husband is the tool person in the family so I asked for his feedback on these. He says they’re a good non-essential tool, meaning that you don’t necessarily need them in your toolbox but they’re great to have if you’re working in a small space like an engine compartment and need to reach something. The grip is comfortable, they’re easy to open and close and have good grip, they’re sturdy, and seem durable.
He says the price is right on these and, while they’re not something he’ll use regularly, he’s glad to have them when he needs them.
High quality double X pliers with comfortable rubberized handles. This type of pliers is great for reaching items down in a hole or deep in your engine compartment, especially if they are plastic or can’t be picked up with a magnet. These also provide much more grip than a magnet or pick up tool. You get a nice amount of leverage from the double X design, and I’ve been using these even when I don’t need a lot of depth because I am getting more clamping strength compared to traditional needle or long nose pliers.
I really want to focus on the quality of these pliers. This company, SATA, makes tools for other companies that put their name on them and everything I’ve seen from them has been high quality at a reasonable price. I expect these to last a lifetime as I don’t see how these could break or fall apart under normal use.
