It is value for money and was really cheap but like a date in Swindon it didn’t take long to go down. The strap broke the first time I used it and I replaced it, new strap pops off every now and then because the depression made to hold the pip in place is not deep enought. When I get home I will drill it out a bit or stop being cheap and buy a better watch.
Purchased 2, one for a friend, very comfortable to wear on wrist. Purchased a NATO strap because I was a review with one (black and blue stripes) waiting for strap to arrive but looks good with standard black strap. Very pleased with watch easy to adjust both time and date.
Nice looking watch but the strap is very poor. Far too small for men. The length of it is more suited to a child.
I’ve had a better leather strap fitted and now it’s all
fine. Also, the date window is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it.
This is a very well designed homage to military watches from the past, looks good and at 30 is excellent value. However, I doubt if it would stand up to front line military use. The luminosity is feeble and the snap on back is unlikely to prove waterproof for long. The strap lets it down and most buyers will probably want to buy a sailcloth one. I got one from Wrist Envy for 13, which looks good. Buy it for the looks, avoid harsh treatment and you have a bargain.
I do not like to wear my more expensive watches when on holiday and so bought this. It is so good it makes me wonder why spend any more money on a watch just because it is a posh/expensive brand.
Second one I’ve had of these so the review covers a period of over 3 years of owning. Cant fault the watch. I got 3 years from the first, by which time the battery ran out and the strap was scruffy. Cost of replacing both was around same as buying a new one. The strap is the let down. Its cheap and nasty – if functional. That said, for the money I’m probably being picky. I’d recommend and buy anothe
I am very pleased with the watch but the strap is way too short only just reaching the first hole. Because of the unequal lengths of the two strap sections this pushes the watch to the outside of my write. I did send a message to Sekonda Customer Support asking if a longer one was available but my email was ignored.
I bought this watch for myself, as my old digital watch was becoming difficult to read in anything but good daylight. This was no fault of the watch, but my aging eyesight.
I chose this for it’s very clear face and easy to read numbers and hands. It’s a great watch, and looked good when I first put it on. However after only a couple of days, the woven nylon strap started to fray and loose threads kept coming out of the strap in random places. It also took a long time to dry if it got wet washing my hands too.
I decided to get a silicone replacement strap for it (5.00 on eBay), and found one that looked very similar in texture and colour to the original (see photo). Now that is sorted it’s a 5 star watch. I don’t know why Sekonda don’t fit a silicone strap as standard for this watch, as it’s much more practical.
It’s a great watch, but loses 1 star for the low quality strap.
Nice cheap watch, well made but i wish they give it a watch strap that fits a wrist larger than a small child. An extra inch is all that is required in order to give it 5 stars
The watch is great. It has that clean, clear military look along with a metal case that will not suffer from paint that scratches off, which can happen with black military watches. But that strap? Cheap, uncomfortable and beginning to fray after less than two weeks. And the cheapskate link to instructions on the website? Link broken. Figure it out yourself. Worth having if you’re willing to tinker and factor in a new watchstrap. But until Sekonda provide a strap worth having and instructions that work, four stars is the maximum.
Previous people have commented, the strap is rather short unless you have thin wrists and is of poor quality. This was changed immediately, a shame for a decent watch.
The watch is quite large as are the numerals which are easy to see. Great for someone who needs glasses.
I would say it is not very luminous and I have not tried swimming in it so I cannot comment on that.
I am quite happy with it apart for the niggles above.
A good solid watch, good value for money bought to share out the wear on a 50 year old watch comfortable but the strap is a little stiff hopefully with use it will become softer. Bigger than I was expecting but not a problem. No instructions but was able to set up without resort to the Internet link. Would recommend.
This watch is ideal for what I wanted. It has a very clear face and hands that I can read easily even without my glasses, brilliant. It is luminous and whilst it will not light up the world it is sufficient for me to read if I wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if it’s time to get up.
It tells me the time and nothing else, which is what a watch is for, or so I thought.
It is supposedly water proof but I haven’t tested that and I don’t intend, at least not deliberately.
Other reviews a correct, the strap is horrible and needs to be replaced without delay. That’s why I give it four stars and not five
Wanted a “field” watch with blue dial and this fits pretty well. The watch itself is fine for the price, but the strap is very poor quality, replaced it immediately with a nicer one (which costs half the price of the whole watch though). The dial is easily readable, the crown has a very nice tight feeling when adjusting.
The lume on the markers is brighter than on the hands, which is kind of strange.
Feels a little cheaper than an equivalent Timex Expedition Scout, which is more expensive though, but has much nicer stock strap.
Overall happy with the purchase. The watch had both protective films on the front and back untouched.
I think it is one of the good options if you want to decide if a field-style watch is for you without spending much money.
