This is a lovely little set to build friendship bracelets on. Makes it so much easier to have a jig like this with storage underneath to hold threads. I would say it’s the best one I have actually seen. It seems pretty sturdy and the instructions if you spend time to study are reasonably easy to understand, it just needs a little time and practice. You don’t have to spend all your time to complete one in one go. You can go back and do little bits at a time as it is all there layed out to complete at leisure. At 19.99 looking at the size of the box I thought it was a little expensive but on studying what we have here I have come to the conclusion it’s a reasonable price for the quality of the product. If I had to buy more I think this would probably be my go to version.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe appeal of this particular kit is the jig/ loom and the way it encourages kids to not only be creative, but learn new/ relaxing pastimes that don’t involve electronics/ screens/ internet.

THis kit itself is a refreshing change: The instructions are pretty clear, and the quality of the jig is good. It also acts as a carry case, and there’s a selection of charms and cords included to help get started. You can, of course, add more as time goes on too, so this kit’s lifespan doesn’t end once the consumables are spent – unlike other kits we’ve had.

The variety of ties/ jigging and results is vast, and it’ll take my 10yr old (and her mum!) a long while to master – but they are spending lovely time together learning and making!

Everything you need is there except a couple of household items (scissors/ knife/ glue/ tape) but that’s nothing to worry about.

The only thing for me was the price point: Originally this kit was 14.99, but at the time of review it’s crept up to 19.99. That is a big jump in price, and to be honest at 14.99 it’s great – just right. But I’ve dropped a star from the review as 19.99 feels a little too expensive.

At 14.99 this comes highly recommended, so keep an eye out on the price!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersCurrently priced at 14.99. I opted for this as I used to make friendship bracelets when I was younger using embroidery threads and found it very relaxing. It was very simple in those days though – threads attached to my school tights or skirt with a safety pin and only one knot design!! I thought I’d like to do it again and develop my knots as a mindfulness activity and this kit provides a board and step by step instructions as well. It comes with threads, stickers, and elastic which can all be kept in the peg board. It’s well made, good for a Christmas or birthday gift and fun but I’ve dropped a star because it is for age 6+ and I found the instructions quite tricky! Having had a go at making the first bracelet in the book I’m actually not sure from the instructions whether I should have used elastic or coloured thread as the starting point! I think it is also probably quite fiddly for a little one. I’d say it would likely need adult help to make the bracelets depending on the child’s age and I’ve started with a fairly simple design compared to some of them! Overall though I’m looking forward to using it with my embroidery threads and with some patience and help kids will be able to make fun bracelets for themselves, friends and family. I think based on the quality of the kit it is fairly priced but instructions could be better in my view. You do need scissors and glue and they’re not included.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reminds me of school days!!
