I don’t mind paying for quality or a brand you have come to trust over the years. It never pays to buy cheap or you end up buying twice and these did and have bent slightly, however have still outlast the mistake of buying cheap previously
I am forever misplacing my “Garden Tools” particularly the “Weed Forks” suffice to say this latest is very impressive and is a perfect replacement. Thank you “Spear and Jackson and Amazon”. i have now cleared all of my flower and veg Beds.
Paid a little more than average, but the tool was quite a bit more than average. Used it for cleaning up neglected flower bed in heavys clay area. No problems at all. A high quality tool, at a reasonable price.
I have used this tool on ground that really needed more leverage than a hand tool can be expected to provide and it really did demonstrate how very robust it was. I was impressed. The handle is comfortable and the hanging loop a nice extra touch.
Bought these for my partner who has a couple of allotments. Not bent so far so are currently withstanding his brutish handling. Worth purchasing in my opinion for someone who gardens a lot.
Neverbend? That might be asking a bit too much – especially for this price bracket; but after bending the tines of a few heapo-cheapo forks bought for peanuts from supermarkets and the like, this feels significantly stronger. The advantage of this, in my opinion, is that you can tell when you are about to bend it, and can ease off without any damage. With cheaper forks, they have gone all curly before you know it, and they soon become useless.
I have put this fork through it’s paces, and am very happy with it. The only downside for me is that the bevelled end of the handle is not very comfortable: after digging a number of narrow and fairly deep holes for imperial lilies with this fork, I was getting blisters on the heel of my hand. One star off for that, but that is just my hand size. Also, if you’ve got one of those post-hole-digger tools, this wouldn’t be a problem.
Edit: a year and a half after my initial review, I have upped my rating to 5 stars. This fork is brilliant.
High quality and easy to use. It will probably outlast me! I’m usually “brand averse” but Spear & Jackson have a VERY long and very good reputation. This product lives up to all my expectations.
My last hand fork lasted me 7 years. They still in good condition and will now replace with my new one and pass the old one on to my son in law. Recommend to all
My last hand fork was a very similar Spear & Jackson which I loved but it’s disappeared somewhere in the garden so I bought this as a replacement. Very happy with the style and materials.
