Absolutely love this. Works really well and it’s completely accurate. It is simple to set up the app and link to the thermometer unit outdoors. Planning to purchase additional units. Totally recommend.
I used this equipment to monitor the temperatures in my garage, where I have cold water pipes and the external temperature. This gave me a clear indicator on when to shut off and drain down the water.
My garage actually went down to minus 4 Celsius at one point during the cold snap, in the past I would have been mopping up and fixing leaks, but not this yea
I have had the sensor for 2 months now and it works really well. It relies on you downloading the app and then blue-toothing to the device. It takes a few seconds to connect with the sensor when you open the app, but the great bit is it records the temperature all the time, so when you connect, it downloads all the data to your phone, showing you when the temperature dropped the lowest or spiked. Very please.
The only bug bear was my partner couldn’t use it as well, it will only connect to one app at a time.
I thought I would miss having a display constantly visible in doors, but I think having the temperature recording is of more use.
It works well, does what it should do. Linking the hub together was a little annoying due to specifics that it requires, but there were mentioned fixes which did solve it in the end. The interface on the phone takes a little getting used to, especially setting rooms and moving the meters to said rooms. Cost wise I guess is on par with others, if not possibly slightly cheaper, but still, I feel it’s quite expensive for what it is regardless.
Accurate good value sensors – I have nine sensors and when placed side by side all reported the same temperature and humidity! They come in packs of three and seem cheaper to buy in packs of three. To get the most out of them add a Switch Bot hub (either type) and in the Switch Bot app connect each sensor to the cloud so you can monitor them when out of Bluetooth range – very simple to setup. I have three in two fridges and a freezer and they work very well – was surprised how the two fridges varied in their temperature ranges and adjusted one fridge to stay colder. NB I replaced the supplied two AAA batteries in the fridge and freezer sensors with Energizer ultimate lithium AAA as these work better at low temperatures.
I really wanted something to check each room temperature, this really works well, I’ve left one into the garden and a couple around the house, you just need to remove the plastic from its batteries and search it from the app, it was really simple, so much that i bought another set the day after with the hub. At first I was a bit concerned because these were not found by the hub, I’ve checked after some hour and all of them have been found, without changing anything, I just opened the app, browse to the temp device and I’ve got a popup stating that the device can be added to the hub, really great.
I’ve got these all around the house and garden and am very pleased with them I would certainly suggest getting a hub for the cloud storage and the ability to check temperatures wherever you are.
I have one in the freezer that I wish I had paid more attention to. I hope you can see in the attached screenshot that things started to go wrong on December 18th, then began to fail completely on Christmas Eve! The new freezer arrived at the end of December when things settled down.
I bought the SwitchBot IP65 thermometer last July. I’m happy with this purchase. The product is small and light. It’s easy to carry around and measure the temperature anywhere. You need to leave the thermometer to settle in a place for some minutes until it starts to provide a more consistent and accurate measurement. This gadget is very easy to pair with the mobile phone the first time. After that, the mobile phone quickly connects to the SwitchBot IP65 every time that you switch one your Bluetooth. I mostly use this product outdoor. It has been exposed to intense rain and it has survived. Definitely, this product has showed its waterproofness.
We bought this set of three humidity and temperature sensors / loggers which linked to the app and worked as soon as we activated them. We are using them to log moisture in a wall cavity where we think a shower leaks into the wall. The unit we but behind a brick wall (in a cavity) can be read on the phone and data from it downloaded. Really useful. A unit put in our garage where a dehumidifier kicks in to measure and regulate conditions every 30 minutes shows up clearly on the app. Cannot comment on absolute accuracy but it is plenty for us. Very happy so far.
Transmission distance is very limited. Sender is only 4 metres away in a straight line with one door in-between and 75% of the time cannot connect. As this was a present its too late to return it..
Update:
Seller responded to the review by contacting me and offered a full refund.
Well done Switchbot.
The product is easy to set up and use. However, interacting with the chart on the app can be frustrating. The same gesture sometimes drags the chart left and right other times it shows the data point. Apart from that I am quite happy with the product.
I have alot of switchbot temperature humidity sensors dotted around the house aswell as multiple curtain motors. These indoo/outdoor sensors are well built, easy to set up, have good reporting accuracy and very good battery life. I have one in the airing cupboard, loft and even the fridge. The additional reporting options on things like dew point and absolute humidity are a bonus. I connect these to a switchbot hub and can monitor the data any time at home and away. I love that my raspberry pi running home assistant picks up these and other switchbot devices via Bluetooth so I get the reported data to monitor and play with in home assistant.
This is an excellent little unit for those interested in the temperature/humidity in their house/greenhouse. The performance (range) is somewhat limited, but that is to be expected given the price point. Can’t comment on battery life, but the App is easy to navigate.
I was always curious about the actual real temperature outside so I bought one of these. I see the temperature and think that’s not right, is it? Turns out it isn’t and the weather locally appears incorrect I knew they’d been lying to us! Seems to be a few degrees difference between local weather and this product and I’m more inclined to believe this.i left another temperature sensor from a different brand outside and it was pretty spot on with this. Setup was so easy it was unbelievable. It’s a small unit and I’ve left it somewhere shady. So far it’s stayed online and there’s been no problems. I’d love to have this device integrated in to apple HomeKit.
This helps me see what the temperature has been in the greenhouse, you need to be quite close to get the updated log, but it holds some memory so updates the stats when in range.
The app is easy enough to use too.
There are better versions out there but not for this price!
I would recommend this for that reason.
Great when they work, but when one out of a packet of three shows a steady 42.5C and 56.0%RH, it’s more than a little annoying. Attempts to reset the failed device proved unsuccessful. Opened a support ticket through the app and the initial response was fast and offered hope that the faulty unit would be replaced, but a few days later, silence.
Overall, I still think this is a great product with a lot of uses, but when one of three is faulty straight out of the box, it sours the experience big time!
Just download the app and connect the device to your phone. It’s super easy to connect and use and gives good accurate readings. I’ve placed mine outside to keep an eye on the temperature. Recommended
Great little devices to pop around the house and garden to keep and eye on temps. Works seamlessly with the app and ties in with my curtain bots to close them when it gets too hot.
I’m currently using a 3 pack of these hygrometer / thermometers in order to keep track of our households varying temperatures and sync them in with my other smart devices who can then in turn react to the change of temperature, so far we have it set up to adjust the heating, close curtains and even open an automated Velux window in the roof as and when it gets too hot.
The ability to react to temperatures is really convenient, but then there is also the ability to keep a record of the different measurements and know where you’ll need to make changes and when, it’s very informative.
It has replaceable batteries but those aren’t really a worry as it shows the battery should last around 2 years so we don’t need to think about it.
Next step is getting more sensors for alerts on our vivarium’s and utility room to ensure nothing is a miss, it’s great tech!
So far, so good. Using two of them for 7-10 days and so far they work well. Unsure if there will be issues with rain damage long-term. Using them without a hub which means you can’t access them when out of range, but I knew that when I bought them and that was all I wanted. Stores data since the last update so even being away for a few days means I can retrieve the data once I’m back. All in all a really well-priced outdoor Thermometer that syncs easily with the phone app.
The Bluetooth range isn’t great. A few meters at best. Functionally, it does what I wanted.
EDIT: I ended up adding a Switchbot hub to my setup to help with the bluetooth issue. This massively improved the range and also allows me to do other things such as turn the TV/Speakers on/off using Infrared and Alexa. I am also able to check the temperature by asking Alexa wherever I am in the world.
SwitchBot’s 3 pack wireless hygrometer and thermometer set proved a delight in its functionality and ease of use. The setup was a breeze, and the readings, accessible over a fantastic Bluetooth range, are accurate and consistent. Perfectly calibrated for indoor and outdoor use, these devices provide valuable insights into temperature and humidity levels around the home, and in the fridge. They can prove particularly useful for people with sensitive plants, valuable wine collections, or anyone keen on maintaining optimal environmental conditions in specific spaces. Plus, the two-year battery life and free data storage are thoughtful bonuses! I’m hooked!
I have mostly been using this to monitor the heat and humidity in my house and baby’s room and am really happy so far. It seems very accurate so far and the app is really handy.
These are good quality temperature and humidity readers, it can be used indoor and outdoor, great little device to use in my greenhouse and inside the house. Was really easy to set up and it comes with handy app, it compatable with Alexa. Good value for money.
I have this little thermometer in my fridge to monitor the temperature which is doing perfectly.
The great benefit of this devise is that in the app you can set temperature alerts and various others including humidity alert (great for cigar lovers)
Remember though that for this device to work you will need the mini hub, but once you have this you can connect any SwitchBot product to it.

I needed some way of monitoring the temperature in the fridge freezer. Sometimes we close the freezer door but it did not really close and just looked closed. The next day we found our freezer had defrosted. Now I get an alert on my phone within a few minutes saying the temperature has risen above what I have allowed and thus I go and check the freezer door. I have since bought one for the fridge door as well. This now saves the day.
I have used a well known make of temperature/humidity devices in my greenhouses for many years but they have proved unreliable, just stopping for no reason, and I have had 5 fail in total, one after only 3 days, and the firm is no longer in existence now (wonder why ?) and finding replacements is almost impossible – the last one I bought came from the USA and the postage alone was 18… ouch !
I can’t tell you how pleased I was (not to mention my bank balance) when I saw that these were available.
They are similar to my old devices in that they use Bluetooth and that I can get graphs for both humidity and temperature, plus alarms sent to my phone if things (temperature/humidity) get too low or too high.
I have these set up now for a few months and the readings do tie in with my certified thermometer and hygrometer.
The disadvantage of Bluetooth is that when you are out of range ( i.e out at the shops etc) the readings cease until you come into range again but with this system you can sync it with the SwitchBot Hub and therefore access the readings when you are out.. not that I can do anything about anything though… well at the moment anyway, although I do have auto vents on then greenhouses.
I haven’t coupled mine with the hub yet, but I will do so soon – but do note you don’t NEED to couple them with a SwitchBot hub for it to work, it is just an option if you want it.
TIP :
You must make sure that the sensors aren’t in direct sunlight though, and I found after several experiments using differnt things over the years, that covering them with a paper bag (remember those ?) works best, and also stops plastic from yellowing too.
Conclusion :
SwitchBot never cease to amaze me, as they are expanding their range of products with quality and more importantly accurate devices all the time and these sensors are no exception. I just LOVE them, and they look as if they have a great battery life too, whereas my other sensors, which took 2 x AA Lithium batteries and lasted 2 months at the most.
As I have said before, these ARE the people to watch as the range is really expanding with quality products that don’t cost the earth.
Right, so what do I think about this product, well simply put, 5 stars all day long and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
I recently purchased the SwitchBot Hygrometer Thermometer Wireless 3 Packs, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality and convenience. This device has proven to be an invaluable tool for monitoring temperature and humidity levels both indoors and outdoors.
First and foremost, the wireless capabilities of this hygrometer thermometer are outstanding. By connecting it to my smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, I can effortlessly monitor temperature and humidity readings from anywhere in my home. This feature has been particularly useful when I need to keep track of conditions in different rooms or areas.
What sets this product apart is its IP65 rating, which ensures its durability and makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Whether I want to monitor the humidity levels in my living room or check the temperature in my backyard, the SwitchBot Hygrometer Thermometer delivers accurate and reliable measurements in any environment.
The device provides a comprehensive range of measurements, including temperature, humidity, dewpoint, VPD (vapor pressure deficit), and absolute humidity. These readings are displayed clearly on the built-in screen, but I find the companion app even more useful. Through the app, I can access historical data, set custom alerts based on specific thresholds, and receive notifications when conditions deviate from my desired range.
Speaking of data, the free data storage and export feature of this device is a major bonus. The SwitchBot app allows me to store and review historical data, enabling me to track trends and make informed decisions about environmental adjustments. The ability to export the data is a valuable feature if I want to share it with others or perform further analysis.
The design of the SwitchBot Hygrometer Thermometer is sleek and compact, making it easy to place in various locations. Its magnetic back allows for convenient attachment to metal surfaces, while the included stand is great for placing it on flat surfaces. The replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery ensures long-lasting performance, saving me the hassle of frequent battery replacements.
In conclusion, the SwitchBot Hygrometer Thermometer Wireless 3 Packs has proven to be an exceptional solution for temperature and humidity monitoring. Its wireless connectivity, IP65 rating, accurate measurements, smart alerts, and data storage/export capabilities make it an indispensable tool for maintaining a comfortable and healthy environment. I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a reliable and versatile hygrometer thermometer.
Super easy to set up, and is a really useful thing to have around the house. Especially because you can monitor the temperature from your phone, and see the temp and humidity in 3 different places.
Nicely sized and looking sensors, so they arent too obtrusive when putting them around the house.
Overall these are great for the house, and if you have a greenhouse setup then this would be even better I think. Solid buy
Thanks to other reviews, I learned that I could use these without having to buy the hub.
The sensors pair with your phone via Bluetooth and the phone app provides all the information you need to get going.
From uboxing to full functioning sensors took less than 5 mins.
The downside to having no hub is that you cannot see sensor information if you’re out of Bluetooth range. For me this isn’t an issue, but be aware of this if you need anytime access.
Power: 2x AAA batteries (non rechargeable)
I’ll mainly be discussing my experience through HomeAssistant, here as the main reason I ordered these, were to test whether I could get these to work with HomeAssistant, without having to deal with additional trouble.
You do need to ensure that whatever you’re hosting your HomeAssistant on, does have access to bluetooth to work though – Which when running via Docker is a bit of a pain, but a one-time task if not already set up.
Note that many of the features that you’d get through the SwitchBot Hub and associated App give you plenty of functionality already and many of these are missing from HomeAssistant, which you could get if you were to write your own or scour GitHub for.
About the Device:
==============
* Great battery life and uses standard coin-cell batteries. I’ve obviously not had these for 2 years, so can’t claim they last up to that time; however, simple enough to replace and does warn you when low.
* Temperature accuracy is very good, but keep it out of direct sunlight or near a breeze. It’s pretty sensitive
* Humidity accuracy is also very good.
* Has other features that when paired with the SiwtchBot hub, allow for data exporting, push alerts for whatever you configure, etd.
The app is very well made and extremely intuitive.
For me, I like to use a single smart hub (HomeAssistant), but I can live with using this as I can set up automated exporting of the data and import back into something like Grafana.
Fun to play with (for techies) and very handy for everyone else.
Definitely recommend.
Ammazing Hygrometer Thermometer Wireless
easy to connect to the phone using a free download app
you require a hub for obtaining a continuous reading using a Wi-Fi if you are away, however this device is impressive, it tranfers all the reading as soon you open the app after a while.
I tested the device for a week and after opening the app i was able to receive all the reading in less than 2 minutes.
the app provides a data related to temperature, absolute Humidity, and more.
you have the ability to set an alram for the temperature, humidity, and more.
I mainly used it to record the temperature and humidity for cured smapels i have for my research.
very satisfied and perfect value Money!
Traditional Max/Min Thermometers have always been incredibly useful for gardeners. But they don’t give a timeline to tell you at what time(s) things are hotting up or cooling down. And how about knowing the microclimate in the various parts of your garden so you’ll know precisely where to position different plants, trees and shrubs. Now I know that my greenhouse warms up between 8am and 1pm, thereafter it gradually cools. I also know that the west-facing brick wall has a warm microclimate between noon and two hours after sunset. While the south of my garden is behind a brick wall that is always cool, but gives a good shaded microclimate for ferns. The house, which has its own heating as well as getting warmth from the sun is another microclimate ideal for growing Brussels Sprouts. These timeline Bluetooth sensors are so incredibly useful. You can also set alarms to warn you when temperatures are approaching a level when certain plants will shortly need fleece covers or bringing into the greenhouse to overwinter. And all of this without having to add the expensive Hub; just using the SwitchBot App. I’m so impressed.
