My 6mon daughter screams every time the car stops. I don’t think she can reach the foot part with the way her car seat lies. But I didn’t even put batteries in yet, and the dangly toys are enough to keep her chill.
My babe rides okay in the car during the day; but if she’s awake at night, it’s a whole other story. I have blacked out windows in my car so it’s probably pitch black, which is totally understandable why it would frighten her. I got the unit that has the remote so I can turn it on when she starts to get fussy on our drive.
It’s actually a bit of a rubbish toy as only has two songs – a jolly one and a relaxing one – but if your baby hates the car like mine does it’s great for buying you a bit of time. The remote control is handy as if they’re crying can switch from one song to another which gets their attention for a minute. My baby enjoys the lights and the two hanging toys. Really overpriced but worth it if you’re desperate like I was! My baby is 10 months.
This really helped my baby settle in the car. She loves the calm music (the upbeat music is a little jolty for her and makes her cry more). The one issue is that the little toys attached to it pulled off within one week. I would suggest that these are attached a little more securely, as little hands always find a way to them.
Unserer Tochter war es immer schnell langweilig beim Autofahren. Mit dem Spielzeug ist sie gut beschftigt. Sie wei auch, dass sie doll treten muss und dann kommt die Musik. Die langsame Musik hat sie manchmal in kurzer Zeit zum schlafen gebracht.
Ich dachte erst, das Ding sei zu teuer. Aber ehrlich gesagt hat es sich bis jetzt sehr gelohnt. Denn ein mdes und gelangweiltes Baby im Auto braucht man nicht unbedingt.
Taf Toys make very cute looking products and this is no exception. Designed to fit over the seat back for the little one to play with from their rear-facing car seat. There are hanging toys and a music effects for them to listen to. The colours are muted and unisex. The Penguin is friendly looking and really stands out. This toy is the perfect way to keep the little one amused when you’re driving them around and it’s great to hear the giggles and babbling from the back seat as baby plays.
I have to keep flipping the switch every time we get in the car to get it to work. Otherwise, my baby loves the music. And the night music calms me too! Haha! Lifesaver for both of us!
you have to keep turning The music back on using the remote which defeats the purposes of having this toy. The “night” song’s last a lot longer which make sense and is nice & soothing.
Good entertainment for the little one with a sufficient amount of activities, sounds and colours. The child has to activate it by kicking – which will likely be more random than deliberate for most small ones, but it works once it’s placed properly. It might need some adjustment depending on the make of car and headrest position. The remote to change between nighttime and daytime – or switch it off (press two times) – works well and is colourful and easy to spot.
It’s a very nice toy and it’s well made, however, it is also pricey both in terms of the toy itself and in battery consumption (3AAA for toy and 2AA for remote , which are not included, so do keep that in mind).
This entertaining little toy requires five batteries — 2 AAA for the remote control and 3AA for the toy itself. It fits on to the rear headrest support posts by slots in the flexible top of the unit — in my car the headrest adjustment slides easily, so it was a simple process. The angle of the toy can be adjusted to the child’s position within his/her reach by a soft Velcro-type strap.
In relaxation mode, it plays “night melodies”, with gentle piano music and also, a soft tinkling sound, while two dim blue lights on the penguin’s hat illuminate intermittently.
“Daytime music” is more lively, with a cheery little ditty – accompanied by a whistling chorus that is pleasing to a little one, but may irritate an adult after a time! Once activated, it can switched off only by using the remote, so you won’t want it sliding out of reach if you’re on a long journey!
The child can activate the music and lights by giving the toy a little kick, but our four month-old is a little young to grasp the idea. However, he loves the music and reaches out happily both for the dangly rattle-fish and the shiny mirror.
I have deducted a star from an otherwise very good product because of the numerous plastic clips holding the toy tightly to the cardboard backing strips, which made it fiddly to unpack.
This is a great toy for keeping kids occupied in the car. Although my baby is still quite young to fully appreciate the toy, I’ve definitely noticed her investigating parts of it and attempting to engage with it – a great distraction for her at times!
I love the remote control feature too that allows you to trigger certain elements from the comfort of the front seats. Perfect for when a meltdown is imminent and you need to direct their attention elsewhere! The toy is also really reasonably priced, so I would say it offers good value for money overall.
The Taf Toys Penguin Play and Kick Car Toy is a beautifully made toy perfect for rear facing babies. It is easy to attach to the headrest and adjust as well. It is made in lovely pastel colours, has a mirror and crinkly fish so it provides some visual and aural interest for your baby. Music and lights are activated by your baby’s kick. Although it is a lovely car toy and you can keep your baby amused for a good while, not least with the use of the remote control which you use for the music, you still need to provide 3x AA and 2xAAA bateries. For the high [price, they could have been provided I feel.
Despite some initial fiddling, I managed to set this up in the car so it hung from the rear head rest for baby to see and enjoy. I did find that my headrests didn’t watch the size of the loops so that’s why I had a fiddle. Other cars it might fit better!
WE loved the addition of a remote control….it was great to be able to click the button from the front to create the lights and sounds in the back.
The toy is charming and certainly helps give baby something to look at. Very useful.
This is not a cheap toy by any means but quality wise it is well made and certainly different to other toys we have had in the past for this reason.
this did keep the little one easily entertained once they figured out how to make all the whistles and bells work so to speak. Pricey but does keep the little one occupied and amused.This is really simple to fit in the car and get going and is well packaged so makes a lovely looking gift for someone.
the reason we have dropped a star is it gets very battery hungry so this is a cost you need to bear in mind before buying this.
the remote works well and makes changing the music easy enough but the music will drive you mad, saying that though i dont know one kids toy that doesnt have annoying music.Bright and engaging and certainly fun for little one this makes a great car toy.
I think this is a really brilliant product. I have never seen any toys specifically designed for the back of the seat, and it stays in place perfectly well. It’s friendly, bright, clean and safe and keeps everyone relatively quiet and entertained for the duration of a reasonable length of journey. There is plenty to do with it for an infant, although toddlers may grow bored of it more easily.
Loving the subtle colours of this delightful car toy which fixed easily to a large headrest- make sure you adjust the car seat close enough for the baby to kick out at it and activate it-Its a soft gentle character that can also act as a travel companion to look at for a little one
This is a lovely toy and our little one loves it. We regularly pick up and take and bring her back to our house. We also pick up her sister from school which means waiting at times. This toy was very easily put up and is very eye catching As soon as she saw it she was reaching for the mobile toys and we used the remote at first but she soon learned to kick. She loved the hat and chuckled loudly. The music does I am afraid quite irritating after a time but we solve that by changing the music. My friend’s kid who’s my expert tester is absolutely in love with this – she loves having a kick and hearing the music, and playing with the attached toys. The added remote is a nice touch, to change the style of music for day or soothing at night. I am not sure just how many times I want to listen to the music in this, but hey I’m not the target audience! And it’s a bit rubbish the batteries aren’t included. Still pretty decent.d
