The Boys (2019) – Season 03 [Blu-ray] [2023]

Just an amazing series. You have a love/hate relationship with the characters. I don’t normally laugh out loud at movies or series but this made me. The way the movie is set is also cinematic and of the highest quality. Would recommend for anyone, top class.

This series got me hooked from Series 1 episode 1, it has exciting sets and action but the most important for me are the flaws in the characters and the company and general observations about the serious flaws in society that are difficult to discuss let alone resolve. All this in a big budget show with unlimited power and potential.
This could be very very dark but feels geared towards naughty teenagers so it reigns itself in with good guys and humour, even so, some of the perversions are rather perverse so much so the violence or disturbing scenes inertia seems to be the extreme craziness.
The ‘conscience’ or ‘ethics’ concerning images get sort of reigned in or ‘edited’ by means of something even more visually disturbing happening to close that scene.
Basically this show could be much better as it has rich scriptwriters and very good effects and could be absolutely anything which is good because they leave enough storylines at the end to fill another 10 series no problem.
I can’t explain, yes big dramatics and stories but it really is the ‘small’ hang ups, bickering, put downs, ego’s and the odd funny here and there that are probably the glue that holds this show together .. for maybe quite a while.
