Great piece of equipment. I have used this on a few cars at work now and they have found the faults no problem. Super easy to use and pretty resilient.

I don’t have much luck with cars my engine management light is often lit and before devices like this, I would pay a garage to read the car and tell me the code. I have owned a couple of units like this now but this one is more advanced giving real-time data that assists in tracing faults and a direct option to look up fault codes. It supports many vehicles and makes things very clear using a traffic light system to alert of fault codes within the car. It also comes with an evap test and o2 sensor tester which most units like this do not. The lifetime updates are nice as well give me the confidence I can use this on cars I buy further down the line. Just beware everyone will be asking you to now scan their cars for them
Best bit off kit I have ever had really recommend this item for anyone diagnosis on your car and test the battery etc very hand neat and tidy and to carry about . Glad I got the chance to have one all thanks to Nathan gates
I’m not a mechanic, and I usually panic if any messages show up on my XC90. I’d trawl the car to the garage and pay at least 75 for the privilege too, just to be told that I’d need a fuse replaced or to top up on coolant (the fault messages aren’t that obvious on the Volvo!)
I bought this on a whim because I was having light troubles, and it arrived quite quickly. I was able to find the plug in port and the instructions were very easy to follow.
Turns out, I have a defective relay for my rear lights. It was extremely easy to identify once I’d got the scanner plugged in. It will still cost me a fortune to fix, but at least I know what I’m dealing with!
I really liked the option on the scanner to be able to view the emissions system of my Volvo as the MOT is coming up and I’m always scared of it failing on that.
My favourite feature is being able to clear the codes. I have been trying to clear off the messages about my lights for months, and now I’ve been able to take it off and stop the distractions while driving. I’ve also booked my car in to sort out the relay switch, so it’s been really good and saved a couple of quid! I can also update the software if I need to check the other half’s car too, there’s always a newer car coming into the house.
This is a portable device to keep in your glovebox, with a handy LED to help me locate the OBD slot – it’s fiddly, but I can see what I’m doing. My brother wants to borrow mine, but I think I might get him one for his birthday if he’s lucky. I don’t want to get rid of mine.

And for the most part it does, everything it promises to do it does perfectly and cannot complain there. However there is one observation I need to outline and say. This machine not only appears to be completely incompatible with JLR products but can actually cause more harm than good. It completely immobilised a 2016 Jaguar XF by causing catastrophic gearbox faults and engine faults (causing the car to refuse to start or even recognise the key remotely) just by scanning for codes, these were rectified with the aforementioned snap on machine due to the errors only being ‘communication errors’ from all modules to the ECU but without the snap on machine the errors would be permanent until a garage or dealer looked at it and figured that out. I tested again on a 2019 Range Rover Sport and same thing so I’d assume all JLR products are off limits for this machine.
For most cars I would say this is perfect and cannot recommend more highly however if you have a JLR product please avoid using this machine with it.

TOPDON AL400 it is impressive, I am positively surprised of quality and performance for the price, it is not simple cheap code reader, IT is well made, good quality and software friendly reader which has no issues to reads or delete codes, used it with both my cars and my neighbour car and we we positively surprised. Highly recommending the product.
Purchased this code reader as had good reviews and was good value for money. Arrived in good time and I used it on my van as had lights on dash come up intermittently.
Read the fault no problem and was able to fix it myself with a new sensor and clear fault.
Also a really handy light at end of plug so you can see where you’re plugging it in .

I bought this to leave in my glovebox to read codes on the go. It is very easy and simple to use and the built in torch saves struggling to find the obd port in the dark, have had generic non branded code readers in the pas and you can definitely tell the difference
I was a little dubious about ordering this online as i normally purchase all of my garage equipment face to face but i am really impressed. Arrived on a courier in 48 hrs and then got to work on clearing the faults on my l200 after repair.
Unit is user friendly, quick and very robust and cleared all my faults in seconds. Not much more to say really but the battery charging check function is super handy as well
DIY user and this will stay in the tool kit hopefully for years to come !
I wanted something easy to use but can still do the job of some of the really expensive obd readers and this is it.
I previously had a cheap Bluetooth devise and that couldn’t read the fault I was having with my van as accurately as this does. Has paid for itself straight away saving me having to go to the garage.
There’s also the other side of this obd reader which is the battery tester, to have both with one machine is great and comes in a handy carry pouch.

I had a problem with my car so bought this to see if it would diagno the problem. It worked well and enabled me to reset all the faults. It also let me know what the issue was before I had to go to a garage so I wouldn’t get missed informatio
Good quality product. Does exactly what it says in description. And the ability to tell you the fault code and what it means. Also the led light to show up the dark areas where the scanner is normally located is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
I had a svs warning light on my dash so I brought this for my Vauxhall insignia 2015 plugged it in and it told me it was the fuse replaced fuse warning was gone very impressed how easy it is to use.
Excellent build quality and design easy to hold and use and I love the addition of the light in the obd connector that will come in extremely useful if need to use it in the dark.
I’m sure over the coming years this reader will save me a lot of money.

I’m extremely chuffed with the overall built of the unit, it feels extremely well built and not cheap and brittle like my previous unit.
It’s so easy to use as it is literally just plug and play. I have so far tested it on my personal cars at home (Audi A4 and Renault Clio!) as well as my work car (Ford Fiesta) and it has worked perfectly. Tomorrow I’ll try it on the work trucks a Ford Ranger and an Isuzu cherry picker but I foresee no issues with either.
This unit is great if you’re wanting to diagnose your own faults as we all know a garage will charge upwards of 50 just to run a diagnostic so using once has already possibly saved you that initial garage charge.
It arrived well packaged and very fast.
Overall this is a great product that I would highly recommend to any DIY home mechanic.
