DOES EXACTLY WHAT I NEED IT TO DO, FROM CLEARING CODES TO EXPLAING ERRORS THAT MY VEHICLE COMES ACROSS! COMES WITH A CASE OF ITS OWN AND PROVIDES THE ABILITY TO CHECK MY BATTERY CHARGE AND OUTPUT. CANT COMPLAIN, DEFINITELY GONNA BE USING A LOT!

This code reader works very well. I do a lot of my own mechanic work when possible, so this is a really nice thing to have. It seems to throw codes accurately and it is very easy to use/navigate. Overall, I’m happy with its performance.

This unit comes with a monitor, carrying case, & 2 cables – one for the battery attachment and one to connect to OBD (on board diagnostic) port. It’s rechargeable and has a usb_C port to plug in for charging. It’s not a touch screen, buttons are used to navigate. It’ll read in both English and Metric units.

When connected to the OBD port, the unit will link to the car and determine the car model. You scroll through the menus to see data about the car’s performance. It will tell you the codes if the car is registering an error. This reader worked fine for my VW Tiguan when tested. I didn’t have any messages on the dash and it confirmed the car showed no error codes. You can also see the engine performance data, which is useful.

I haven’t had a need to connect the battery cable and try it, so I can’t speak to its performance yet. Overall, it seems an ok unit. The screen reads ok; it’s not super hi-res but good enough and the navigation between screens was fine. Handy tool to have for those who are mechanically inclined or want to know what’s going on with their car if a dash light comes on.

    Handy car diagnostic tool.

It’s a nice little unit but it could be better. Unit feels decent but lacks any weight making it seem a bit cheap. Has plenty of features but when it comes to reading codes, it lacks any real information. I like that it comes nicely in a compact case. Overall great as a spare scanner to keep in the car and for checking the battery.

You don’t need to be a fully qualified mechanic to use this but some general knowledge of cars is required although this is not a alternative to visiting a garage for a full service.
Every time my car starts to go wrong my anxiety rises and i get into quite a state worrying about garage bills
Obviously this can’t do the work for you but this is my peace of mind knowing the fault then i can then budget for the incoming garage bill.
Great large lcd display which is easy to read, appears well made with the size and weight of this.
The battery indicator has been priceless for me, with 2 cars buying a new battery or 2 isn’t really a option but with this tester i can tell when this is a necessity or just a flat battery when 1 of the kids have left something plugged i

This is a big step up from the budget range of ODB readers in terms of quality and it’s a good battery tester as well. The case is good and solid and you store the cables in there for either the battery croc clips or the odb interface and both are well made and easy to connect.
Without tempting fate I don’t have any error codes to test the odb function with that but it gives all the function readouts of the available engine management modules and they all seem accurate and change at the right times so I can trust the readouts.
The battery tester is good, I have needed this a fair bit with van battery trouble and it gives a good and accurate reading and has been telling me quite consistently what a terrible battery I have.
The screen is nice to read and it’s large as well so holds more information in one go, the menus have been easy enough to navigate and I haven’t had any trouble with it at all.
As a basic odb tool you won’t be able to do much more than with a cheap and cheerful reader but this certainly is better quality and easier to read all round.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality reade

This 2-in-1 car diagnostic tool combines OBD II code reader and 12 volts battery tester in one device and it is an excellent price considering it does both. This will not fully replace testing that can be done at a car garage, but it can certainly give you a clue as to what is wrong and how to correct it. Good piece of kit.

I found this code reader really easy to use. The navigation was simple with a nice big screen. The codes made it simple to understand for someone who has little experience with cars.

I’ve gone through a couple Bluetooth OBDII readers, and I’m never quite sure if the free apps they work with will adequately and correctly read/diagnose the engine codes, so I appreciate the surety that this device provides in knowing it’s pre-programmed with the info. I was not expecting such a nice case to be included, and really appreciate that as an unexpected bonus. As noted by other reviewers the battery tester functionality does provide a degree of readings, but I’d say within a reasonable range, so I’m not concerned about the accuracy. Overall a solid OBDII reader with a nice case and added battery tester, so great to keep in the car for when it’s needed.

I’m not a professional mechanic but I would rather work on my car myself when it’s possible. The check engine light came on in my car so I decided to give this a try to see if I could diagnose the problem to fix it myself. When I plugged it in I found out it was a bad O2 sensor which was easy for me to replace. I probably saved more than the price of this scanner by using it that one time so for me it is well worth it. I’m sure some of the more expensive units will do more but this one works great for my needs.

Very happy with this. This 2-in-1 code reader and battery analyser is a must-have for car owners. It provides accurate readings and is easy to use. Highly recommended for diagnosing car issues.

Not to be intended to replace a proper garage ODB scanner but this certainly could help the hobbyist mechanic and it certainly will help with many error codes. The screen is large and user-friendly, with easily understandable icons and menus that facilitate smooth navigation. Establishing a connection is very easy find your port plug in and away you go, and the scanner even offers live readings, which enhance the overall experience.

The battery health indicator is something that isn’t included on some similar models and probably useful to all.

The scanner effectively provides data on common error codes found in vehicles, although it does not offer manufacturer-specific values.

All things considered, this scanner proves to be a reliable and efficient tool for diagnosing vehicle issues. Just do not expect a full comprehensive companion but for the money why would you?????

This is a good robust 2 in 1 battery tester and 0BD2 scanner , diagnostic tool with connection cables and good quality instructions.

It reads and displays quickly and clearly , definitely a useful gadget to own whether professionally or personally, a good way to get some quick performance diagnostics of your car and check battery before a long journey or just to check the overall basic health of your vehicle.

It’s rugged build quality means it’s durable and can take knocks and drops , definitely built for a mechanics environment it looks basic but built to last.

You don’t have to have excellent knowledge in cars to use it either it’s instructions are good and you can check on numerous data and info of the car .

A very handy battery tester and gadget.

This code reader unit comes in a nice protective hard shell case which carries all the leads, instruction manual and the reader itself.
The display unit itself is very lightweight, it has a very large and easy to read screen and navigation around the menus was very straightforward and it connected to my car very easily.
I have to say i dont know a great deal about these things but I can see it being very useful in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.
A recommended buy for those who know how to use these to its full potential.

This is a good scanner, a lot better than my current 3-year-old one. The screen is big and easy to read, with the icons and menu good to navigate. Connection is easy and it also includes live readings. I like the addition of a battery health check, which is great to check the status of your battery. Includes a nice carry case. It provides data on the common error codes found in the vehicles, but not manufacturer-specific values. A little heavier than I thought it would be, but on the whole, a good scanner.

I’m no expert when it comes to OBD scanners and this is the first one I have owned. It’s super handy to have though and finally allows me to get some idea of what is wrong when my warning lights come on. It’s quite big, bigger than I expected but it’s not very heavy. It’s nice that it doubles up as a battery tester. Pleased with it.

This unit is good for basic code reading on your car, most protocols are covered but not manufacturer specific.
I had no codes on my ford but it read the vin and sensors fine.
The case is sturdy but the whole thing is very heavy due to the battery testing and obd cables and a weird old style serial port adapter.
Screen could be a bit brighter but inside the cr it was ok.

My first impression upon opening the bag was that it looks pretty decent. The scanner unit is super lightweight like its hollow inside. I decided to test out the battery feature first since I was most curious with these feature considering this was a low price for a scanner/battery tester combo. I tested on my own vehicle with known good battery. The results were pretty generic with available CCA, SOC and SOH. Its good data that gives a basic idea of battery health. If a battery is very low on charge this unit will not turn on. The code scanner pulls basic generic DTCs from Engine and Transmission modules only. Its other feature that is useful is the I/M readiness to check if a vehicle monitors are ready for Emission Inspections.
Overall it does what its intended for on a basic level.

I finally got around to giving this thing a good test and can say it does what it says and presents in a large screen making it easy to read. I like the long OBD cable as it allows you to stand next to the car and run through the readouts rather than get down close to the floorboard. The unit self monitors and alerts you if you have done any steps wrong and allows you to go back and redo. The hard case and well written instruction book make this fairly easy to use even for beginners.

My only complaint is that to do a printout you have to provide a type C usb cable even though the instruction book says one is included. Small point I know but it should have been part of the kit for the price. Speaking of which there are other solutions on the market less expensive, some even using your smartphone to do the heavy lifting without cables using bluetooth.

This is a really good OBDII reader pus it has extra battery health functions. I already had a reader, but I chose this when I saw the focus on battery health. Our aging car has been having boot problems where it often doesn’t open. We first thought it was random then realised it worked directly after a drive. Using this reader enabled us to work out whether we had a drain or if the battery was just rubbish, turns out the battery is good, but we do have a parasitic drain. Testing straight from the battery gives a much more accurate reading that it does by reading through the car’s ecu. The OBDII functions on this are very easy to use, no mucking about with phone apps or disconnections. The DTC library makes working out what a specific code refers too easy. As well as reading trouble codes it can also clear them, handy if you have done work your self and the dash light remains on, it does not clear air bag lights and some dealer service only lights. I am using on a Nissan Primera P12, but it will work on most cars. It has a very handy carry / storage case, I will be keeping this in the car in case of problems out and about as it can read live data, great for if we go into limp mode etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well. Great for battery taesting as well as diagnostics.

This car’s battery analyzer combines an OBD II code reader and a 12-volt battery tester.

It can quickly read and check engine light trouble codes, freeze frame, live data, and I/M readiness. This feature is handy for identifying engine problems early, allowing you to address them before they become more serious and costly. The device also allows you to erase error codes, which can be a real lifesaver when it comes to resetting the check engine light.

Another major benefit of the battery analyzer is its ability to read battery voltage, internal resistance, CCA, SOH, and SOC. This offers a comprehensive view of your car battery’s condition, allowing you to quickly pinpoint any issues and ensure that your battery is functioning optimally. The analyzer is compatible with all types of 12V lead-acid batteries up to 2000 CCA, including Regular Flooded, AGM Flat Plate, AGM Spiral, GEL, and EFB, making it a versatile tool for any car owner.

In terms of usability, the battery analyzer is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. The large, easy-to-read screen provides all the information you need in crystal clear clarity, while the interface is straightforward.

Overall, it is a handy, cost-efficient tool that any car owner or DIYer can benefit from.

Got this OBD2 Scanner with Battery Test Function, and it has quickly become an essential tool in my car maintenance arsenal. This 2-in-1 device combines an OBD II code reader and a battery tester, making it a cost-efficient and handy gadget for all car owners and DIYers.

One of the things I love about this scanner is its enhanced OBD II functions. It allows me to easily read check engine light trouble codes, view live data, and even check the readiness of my vehicle for emissions testing. This has saved me both time and money by helping me identify issues that I can fix myself before taking the car to a mechanic. Resetting the check engine light is a breeze with this tool too.

The battery testing capability is another standout feature. It provides comprehensive information about my battery’s condition, including voltage, internal resistance, CCA, SOH, and SOC. With compatibility with various 12V lead-acid battery types, I can confidently check any battery’s health.

What impresses me the most is the universal vehicle coverage of this scanner. It supports OBDII / EOBD-compliant cars and light trucks from all brands made since 1996 in the US, 1998 in Canada, and 1998/2001/2004 (gas/diesel) in the EU. The multilingual interface, large colour LCD display, and built-in DTC database make it incredibly easy to use and understand.

Although it doesn’t read ABS, airbag, or TPMS systems, and doesn’t reset oil service, it provides outstanding value for its price. The device comes with a one-year warranty, and the premium storage case ensures portability and protection.

I highly recommend the OBD2 Scanner with Battery Test Function to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile diagnostic tool. It’s a game-changer for car owners, offering convenience, accuracy, and peace of mind.

This is about 3 times larger than I had been expecting it to be, so fantastic if your eyesight is failing! Fortunately it comes in a nice hard carry case which houses all the accessories, making this a one stop shop for electrical issue diagnosis (short of getting the multimeter out!).

I didn’t really have any issues with this product, everything worked as it should, but the massive size did to be honest put me off a bit. I think for most this is a bit overkill also, and I reckon the Bluetooth version would work better for most (albeit without the battery tester).

All that said, this is a nice bit of kit that’s easy to recommend.

My neighbor has a jeep that had a bad part on it.. He had it previously diagnosed, and then he had it fixed.. I hooked this up to his jeep to see how well it would work.. It gave the same exact error, which is good.. But since he got it fixed, we went to delete the code from the system.. Clicking on to erase it, it came up with an error that said that it could not erase the code.. We tried it again, and got the same error.. but then we went into the section to read stored error codes, the error code was gone.. So it did erase or delete the code, but said that it could not.. Small glitch..

I then hooked it up to my car to check the battery.. When I did, I noticed that the numbers did bounce around a little.. For example, it might say that the battery has the capacity of 421 CCA, then do a rescan, and suddenly it might saw 443 CCA.., then rescan, and it might say 432 CCA.. Not a huge difference in results, but enough to say that it does vary a little.. I had this connected to the same spot, all 3 times in a row, to the battery terminal connector.. The voltage was more steady than the resulting CCA number.. So basically, it does work, but it just gives you an average or about number to go off of.. Expect that results can vary slightly.

I have another one of these, that is another brand, but I personally like this one better.. The reason.. It just feels a little better made, with a better screen setup.. This one has additional features, like checking the battery.. But most of all.. The cord on this one is a bit longer.. I think close to a foot longer.. Than the other one that I have.. And that extra length does come in handy.. This one also has a much better and more detailed manual than the other one.. For the price, I think that it is fairly nice..

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBottom line: This is a basic OBD with a separate battery tester function. I’ve got a few complaints, but overall it’s intuitive and easy to use. However, individually you can find these two devices in the $20 range, so this combo is convenient but expensive.

    Review:
A normal OBD will tell you your voltage, may give you indications of battery problems. But this one actually tests your battery, which is a nice additional feature.

However, on battery tester mode, it must be plugged into a USB power source to turn on. There is no option for the unit itself to be battery powered. I found this disappointing, I would have liked for it to be more portable and easier to test my motorcycle, riding mower, etc, without being near a power source (or carrying around a power bank).

For me, on OBD mode this basically does two things – read codes, clear codes. Sure there are additional features such as live data, but I suspect most people are like me and will primarily use those two basic features.

My nicer OBD does a whole lot more – advanced code reading, SRS, transmission codes, ABS monitoring, battery monitoring for shutdown procedures (to help identify drain), reprogram the battery after replacement, and pairs with my phone so I can get see all the codes and data (no need to print/save, etc). To be clear, this Veepeak OBD2 Scanner Car Battery Tester 12V, Automotive 2 in 1 Check Engine Code Reader & up to 2000 CCA Battery Analyzer OBD II Diagnostic Tool with Premium Carrying CaseVeepeak model does NONE of those things, so be clear what you’re getting.

But for a basic code reader this is fine. It boots fast, it’s easy to read, and it’s intuitive. I do like the carry case quite a bit, definitely classes it up and protects your investment. Just be clear that this is a budget model, by a generic import brand, and you are paying extra for the convenience of having a 2-in-1 device.
