Modular transformers for continuous service

Modular safety transformers for continuous service, intended to power devices and circuits with very low safety voltage.

General characteristics

The double isolation separating the primary and the secondary allows you to limit, in the powered circuit, damage resulting from accidental contacts with electrically active parts or masses that can go into voltage in the event of a fault of the insulation.

The overload or short-circuit condition may damage the appliance but does not determine the hazard condition for users or adjacent parts.

This is a continuous service transformer, make sure you do not buy a discontinuous one or it will not power the doorbell. The nest doorbell battery requires 10VA to be wired, which this transformer provides. I paired it with the ring din rail enclosure and it fits perfectly.

Needed a transformer for Eufy wired door bell with camera. This transformer was recommended from Eufy website and it’s working perfectly. Delivery to NZ was quick and I got the product as mentioned.

The item was larger and heavier than other bell transformers that I have installed and it was wider than the standard double pole so I used a large adaptable box to house it. Not the perfect scenario but it not in relation to any issue with the product. The product worked perfectly, appeared robust and was a reasonable price.

I was having issues with WiFi on my doorbell. Fitted this and it’s sorted it. It is over spec on voltage without any load 32v but fine at loaf of the doorbell 24 – 26v

Good high quality transformer suitable for continuous use. Installed to hard-wire Arlo video doorbell to avoid frequent battery removal / recharge. Transformer output 24 vac with minimal heat and no noise indicating excellent construction.

As an electrician this was very easy to install into my DB, it uses 3 ways in DB. It works perfectly and is completely safe, no such issues of overheating/fire/smoke etc as mentioned in some other reviews. This is perfect if you want to wire up a smart doorbell such as a Eufy hard wired 2k version which requires 24vac 30va. All in all it is perfect for this job. Also another very quick delivery by Amazon.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThe Unifi Protect G4 Doorbell is by far and away the best consumer video doorbell on the market, and with no ongoing subscription costs, beats the heck out of Ring, Nest & Eufy offerings. Unifi Protect depends upon local video storage – I much prefer this model over the ‘someone else’s computer’ cloud-approach. As of right now though it’s targeted at the US market and for US doorbell chime voltages (16 to 24v AC) so requires a bit of thought to work in the UK.

Not wanting to miss out here in the UK, and having just moved into a new house which happily had a mains supply near the door from a 30 year old faulty alarm system, I was able to chase in a cable and fused spur switch and fit a 5/6-way DIN enclosure and a Honeywell D117 electromechanical chime box. There are limited 240v mains transformer options available that would fit this setup but the Vemer 30/24 can supply both 24v AC and 12v AC, so along with an AC relay, I was able to supply the Unifi Protect G4 doorbell with 24v AC and the chime box with 12v AC.

Everything works a treat, no sign of the ‘instant smoke’ referred to by other reviewers; one has to suspect user error in those cases though manufacturing faults could also explain it I suppose… though surely they are tested before leaving the factory? Mine seems perfect however and has been happily supplying my video doorbell for a week or more with no problems. A bit pricey but recommended and it should last for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Transformer for Unifi Protect G4 Doorbell - limited options in the UK but works grea

Only one of my doorbells requires 24 VAC with 10VA…… I have two…. originally I used my legacy PSU which worked ok at daytime…. but at night, when the IR illumination came on…. it ran red hot…. and when operating the either doorbell they rebooted….. I then swapped to a 16VAC 8VA I had spare… this worked just… but also ran hot…. upgrading to this 24 VAC 30VA PSU meant that both video doorbells run fine, at night with IR illumination powered, and the PSU itself is barely delectably warm… which means it is well within it capability. To operate a video doorbell properly with IR illumination (plus continuous ONVIF recording to NVR) you require a properly sized AC PSU. There is no way a wire free battery powered one could even function with the same level of performance.
