As a charging station, it’s ok. It charges the Occulus my kids have fairly quickly and easily. It can, sometimes, be a pain positioning the controllers but that’s a minor quibble.
The main detracting point is that it uses a small magnetic ‘dongle’ to charge the VR headset. This thing is very small and very easily lost and, obviously, without it the charging station may as well be a brick. To replace it can cost 15 or more and it is, as I’ve said, absolutely essential.
This is a good cheaper addition to the vr headset.
It does charge very well and quicker than expected.
The only downside I have with this is the magnetic charger connector for the headset. And is actually fine and really easy to use if you leave the small charger part in the headset. But If like my son you have a battery pack headset strap you have to take it out and it’s tricky.
But this will net effect everyone all in all a good produc
First let me say I really wanted to like this product, I got a venom PS5 controller charger bundled when I purchased my PS5 and it has never let me down in two years.
If you read some of the reviews here you would run a mile straight to another dock, however I like the company and I wanted to reward my experience with their previous product with some brand loyalty. However due to the reviews on here my expectations were low to start with but I thought worst case it can just go back if it’s as bad as people make out.
The unit is compact and fits nicely in a small space which is exactly what I wanted. I’ve seen these huge wide docks that are supposed to be a “centrepiece” I just want to charge and store the device not display it, so the size is ideal for me. Everything fits snug and you can balance an elite strap and still charge the device.
The rechargeable batteries are good quality and hold the charge well. You have to fiddle with the controllers in the charging ports to get a decent connection but once it’s in it charges fast.
The headset charging is where the issues lie. The magnetic connector was facing the wrong way out of the box. I turned it and it felt loose I suspect this was damaged before sending out. It is now facing the correct way but it doesn’t feel overly stable.
The little magnetic dock that goes into the headset itself is tiny and I imagine you will have to keep it in there permanently for fear of losing it. There should have been at least one spare in the box for this inevitable situation.
Nevertheless despite the loose charging cable connector the headset does charge as expected and in a reasonable time.
You will need to plug the USB into a plug and then plug it into the mains. If you just try to charge it via a USB port the three peripherals will not be able to draw enough power from it to charge and the charging lights will flicker.
So do I recommend the product? Well yes i do, there are some docks that are just plastic docks with no charging that cost more than this. You can’t argue for the price but the durability of this headset charge cable and the thought of losing the tiny connector worries me.
I’m happy with the purchase allbeit with those caveats.
Received well but late, but that was the carriers fault.
Item is sturdy and of good quality, batteries fit well as do the covers, holds the controllers well and looks good
The quest 2 sits perfectly in its charging slot, the cable does extend slightly to aid connection as it is a magnetic connection, the actual connection can stay in the quest unless another product needs that slot.
I would recommend this, I have also purchased their docking stations for my Xbox controllers also which are too, of good quality for the price
This works a treat, I have needed up leaving the USB C in the headset as not to lose it as it’s a magnetic to connect to the headset and will be easy lost.
Controller batteries seems to last a decent amount of playing time.
With the pro headset I do find the balance is off and doesn’t always charge
Very mixed reviews when it comes to these types of chargers, however so far so good, it is quite annoying getting the the components in the slot correctly for it to charge, you do have to wiggle it around a bit, other than that no faults as of yet.
