Disappointed that the test switch didn’t work. Took it out of the packaging to find the batteries were flat and expired in 2022! Hopefully this unit isn’t old stock! Put new batteries in and it works fine but it’s worth checking this when you first get it.
Bought this for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it! Really easy to use and set up. Can connect your phone via Bluetooth, we put karaoke songs on via you tube. Easy for my daughter to understand how to use as well. Lots of fun features like voice affects, changing the music and mic volume. And the disco light on the top is great. It’s fairly light weight so easy to move around. It is battery, but does have access for mains. Doesn’t come with a mains cable but we had one which fit from another device.

I would definitely update age recommendation as it is well used by the whole family (from a two year old). You may need to help little ones to hold the mic but they will enjoy singing regardless. I personally love the karaoke too.
You can sing along to tracks from your mobile phone (or tablet). We connect to karaoke via bluetooth and find songs either on spotify or youtube.
You can connect up to two microphones although this set comes with only one.
The settings are fun too (echo, male, female voices). You can play applause at the end of the song. It comes with the in-built disco lights.
I would recommend this product – we love it!
This takes batteries, I would’ve prefered something rechargable personally with the amount it gets used but the batteries seem fairly long lasting considering. You play music through your phone with this and when singing along you can change some hilarious voice effects, tones, volume etc.
A great machine, perfect for parties, all of my children love this and can happily recommend for children and adults!
The instructions don’t come in paper form to save from printing paper which is sensible and appreciated. The paper instructions can also get lost easily, in this way you can always have the instructions at hand.

When I read the instructions I followed them in order to work out how the karaoke worked. The karaoke wasn’t working and I wasn’t sure why. I tried to change the batteries despite the batteries provided by Vtech were working as I tried them with the battery tester. It still didn’t work.
I, therefore, decided to call the customer service.
The first time the operator suggested I buy branded batteries like Energizer or Duracell. I bought the Duracells, nothing to do with making the product work. I called then the customer service again, the second operator did not even know what product I was talking about, asked me for the name twice and I heard that she was looking for it on the system. When she heard that I got it from Amazon without giving me any help of any kind she told me to try to contact Amazon to try to replace it.
Fortunately, I am quite tenacious and I kept trying until I found what the problem was: I had to insert the microphone provided. So simple! And so disappointed the customer service is not as prepared as I imagined.
My children and I have a lot of fun. You can adjust the volume, the echo, you can change the voice (girl-boy) which is very funny, and you can put effects on the voice. Music and tracks can be obtained from the radio, from the Bluetooth obtained from the mobile phone or tablet. In addition to this, it has a lovely light which reproduces the disco light in a small way 🙂
Overall, therefore, apart from the customer service which I found highly useless, the product is really fun and excellent.
