This mini saw is ideal for cutting balsa wood, thin bamboo and plywood ( up to 3mm). I am going to save a small fortune in craft knife blades.
VERY RECOMMENDED to model makers of the kind of materials I use.
I’m am miniature painter; mostly 28/32mm up to 75mm and I’ve been making do a junior hacksaw and small “hobby” say which actually had course teeth.
This thing is in a different league altogether!
The blade is very think with a nice fine pitch.. ideal for finely cutting resin minis from the risers or perhaps for conversions. I only use this on resin and plastic and it’s excellent!
This is very sturdy and well made but very light. Depth of cut is 11mm so only for small jobs.
Unfortunately there’s no blade cover/sheath supplied but I use the cardboard retail packaging (just cut-down a bit)
It’s a little pricey but you pay for quality. Do it, you won’t be disappointed!
I bought this to use in constructing a wooden model sailing ship. It cuts easily and precisely hard and soft woods. It is not for other than “miniature” woodworking but for that purpose it is excellent.
Cutting is excellent but I’ve had it for about 6 weeks (?) now and there’s rusty finger prints appearing from not a heck of a lot of use. Metal is somewhat lacking but apart from that it’s been great.
I work for a company producing Resin based miniatures and scenery pieces. I was so impressed by this standard tool in my workplace that I bought one for myself, for my own hobby use.
It has very specific uses, do not deviate from them, and this tool will last for a long time. We have had one in our workshop in daily use for coming up to 12 months now, and it’s still cutting as well as when we started using it. Soft woods, resin or plastics. Do not mistreat your saw, and will last an age in hobby use terms.
I’m glad that I bought this , it sharp, easy to use , comfortable in the hand and just right for modelling. Bought this after trying to use a cheap Chinese saw which was a disaster.
It’s great shame but both the blade and support were rusty, not just a little bit either, much more attention needs to be paid to finish AND packaging on this produc
Unbelievable piece of kit, sharp as a razor and cuts through model kit plastic like a hot knife through butter… the spine on the blade keeps everything nice and straight. Absolutely recommended..!!!
THE Modellers Saw,Razor Sharp, cuts pretty much anything too!.Width isnt too deep though,as you can only cut up to top of blade with most things i find.Ive not needed to get any other saw since.
Used for cutting bathroom wall panels, made accurate cutting so easy. The only negative aspect was the depth of cut being 1mm short meaning that I had to turn the panels over, poor me. A really super tool.
