First and foremost, love this company and their products. I have had their “Tommy” tripod for over a year and love it’s sturdiness and the quality of the product. But recently my travel tripod decided to try to swim the Pacific Ocean and fails miserably. As such,I found myself needing a new travel tripod. I decided to go for a trusted 3 legged thing product and saw this one and couldn’t believe it fitted all my needs. My favorite feature on this is the built in leveling head which helps to cut down on the weight even more than I expected. I know that travel tripods trade off on stability for size & weight reductions, but this one feels sturdy and with the addition of spikes is even better in the field. I don use the carry bags except if I have to fly somewhere,but this one is quality. Now I just need to get some Clawz to perfect my needs on these. Also their packaging is just another level that makes it fun to recieve and open this product. Final point to make is, these products punch way above their price point. Easily as good if not better than tripods twice the price.
Absolutely love this tripod, I have about 12 tripods in my arsenal as a professional full-time photographer & filmmaker and this is my favourite. Perfect for travel or jobs where I have to hike to get to the shoot. Incredibly adaptable, the legs all unscrew and can become either monopods or can be screwed together to make one long mic boom arm or boom arm for the DJI Pocket camera to go on the top and get almost aerial shots in places where the drone isn’t allowed.
Really well made, comes with a good sturdy bag and lots of lovely accessories available. Absolute genius piece of kit and I wouldn’t be without it.
Very expensivebut you get what you pay for. This tripod I paid for super light weight and super amazing engineering quality. The fluid head is smooth as glass and the locking mechanism would be at home on a Swiss time piece or a museum of modern art. The legs lock quickly and securely with a quick 1/4-1/2 twist.
Caution: the rubber feet need to be securely screwed in and have a tendency to wiggle and come loose keep an eye on these. Three Legged Thing also sells additional feet for this tripod (at a premium$$$). Love the table top mode for macro shots/vloging setup.
