I use this to empty a 100 litres of water from a water butt inside my flat when I do a100 litre water change in my Oscar tank every two weeks, this does this at just the right speed .The next one up would have been hoselock pump which would have been way to fast and double the price. Just see how long it lasts.
Really easy to set up and go, best pump I’ve used so far for emptying my lazy spa, only had around 1cm depth water left and only took around 40 minutes to empty (which is quick!)…….very quiet too.
This was bought to empty a hot tub as it was a struggle to get down to the usual draining part. Worked really well but took a lot longer than I thought it would. This was ok for me as i could leave it for quite some time and my usual small diameter hose fitted it easily giving me a long draining length.
Used this to empty the last 12″ or so of my 14′ above ground pool, as the bottom drain had stopped for some reason, and I wasn’t in the mood for climbing in and emptying it with a bucket. Took around 8 hours in total, and automatically cuts out if it gets to a certain temperature, which it did a couple of times. No problem with that in my opinion. Usefully comes with a hose – many of them don’t. At 40, less than I’d expected to have to spend on a pool pump. Definitely value for money.
Emptied a 3m x 2m leisure pool in six hours. Best thing is that filter inlet is at bottom of unit so it was able to get nearly all the water out other than a small puddle. We are very impressed as I also used the pipe with chlorine/bleach water in to reach up to a pergola with a canvas cover which had got a bit of green mould on over the winter. I was easily able to reach up with 5m pipe and pour water on canvas so impressed it can pump up to that height really well. Early days yet and although a five star unit I will re-review this when it’s had a longer life as a pump living in a new water feature.
We are not sure we have the correct item, as it says it is for cover removal of water and we wanted the submersible one. It does the job, but does not look like some of the pictures show
I bought this pump a month ago as i have bought a free standing bath but not got the money to have it plumbed in just yet.
The bath is pretty deep. I used the pump an ran the hose into the toilet an switched it on. It pumped out the water pretty quickly. Another reviewer said that it completely emptied her tub. It left about an inch of water but this wasn’t a problem for me. I used a super absorbent cloth an a small bucket an just soaked up the last inch of water using the cloth an it was completely empty in a minute. I’ve used it again a couple of days later an it pumped out well an only left about half an inch of water. I am very pleased with the performance of this little pump. It definitely is serving its purpose for me right now, enabling me to take a bath whenever i want with only the smallest amount of water left behind, which i don’t mind soaking up with a cloth. I think its definitely worth the money and i would recommend this pump. I’ve cut the 16 foot hose to a 4 ft length an have the rest 12 foot which is long enough to reach my garden to water it. The electric cable is super long so that adds extra length with the hose to reach outside.
Delivered next day.
Using as pump for house plant irrigation system. This was the 3rd pump tried other two priced around 20.00 did not have enough power to support 10 supply points, should have known as they were only 20-30 watt pumps, this one is 120 watts
This pump comes with a range of fittings so it was easy to connect to a hosepipe. It took about an hour to empty my 1,000 litre hot tub. Far quicker than gravity especially as the hosepipe went up a slope.
After a more expensive model failed to work I thought I’d try this one. Works perfectly and though may not be as fast it’s good value for money.
Used it in a 1200L hot tub.
Who this cos? I’ve got a massive pool and was having trouble emptying the bottom of it and it was too heavy to tip up to empty out. So I bought this and oh my god it’s worked just brilliant. I just leave it to run. It does take a couple of hours but it works very well
After a decent summer we had the polar and was also using our hot tub all the time, so we decided to make sure that we could carry on doing this next year and empty to pull out properly before closing it down I’m packing it away.
This pump basically sits right at the bottom of the pool you turn it on and then it pumps all of the water straight out through the top hose ensuring that nothing is left in the bottom except for a very slim amount of water so it does pick up almost everything but not quite everything.
It has a little philtre underneath it that stops it from picking up any debris like leaves or anything else like that that may have been stuck in the pool right before shutting it down and when running runs really quietly up until it’s managed to empty the pool and even then it stops itself due to a little trigger that means that if it’s got no more water running through it that it will shut off.
I would have liked the ability to be able to attach a hose to the bottom in order to suction out and use it as a normal pump but that’s just being really picky so apart from that it’s a fantastic pump.
When opened I had my doubts but I needn’t have worried it may be small but it works great, it emptied my pound which holds 6000 litre plus of water with no problems would highly recommend this 120w pump
Ideal for the purpose I purchased the pump for, emptying my hot tub. Good selection of fittings easy to set up. Comes complete with hose. Thermal cut out works well to stop damage to pump when water level to low.
This is a lovely little pump and seems well built with a good long power cable and nice and long outlet hose that comes with it. I’ve used it to empty my 6ftx3ft paddling pool already and the pump rate is a bit better than having the tap full on – takes about 45 secs to fill my 9 litre watering can and I could easily fit my watering hose to the outlet instead and use the water on the garden directly so I’m very happy. The one improvement for me would have been to have an in-line on/off switch because the only way to switch it off is to unplug it, which is a bit of a pain. Other than that I’m pleased with it so far. Can’t comment on longevity as I only got it today but so far, so good!
Great little pump if your not in a rush. If you want faster draining times then go for a more powerful/ correctly rated setup. But this serves well for what we need. Comes neatly packed, self protection built in when running dry or hot and comes with varying attachments. You may need a longer hose for longer distance emptying but this is value for money
I’m currently building a retaining wall in the garden and being in the West coast of Scotland, it rains a lot. I keep it covered and can only work on weekends so the rain builds up.
I bought this (80w model) after my drill attachment pump packed in. I left it unattended and the hose had shifted, burning out the motor. This is much easier to use. Drop it into the deepest part and leave it to run. The brass attachment fitted directly to a 15m garden hose (13mm I think) which runs through to a drain, no issues with suction. It’s never having to pull water from much height anyway. I am worried about leaving it alone so I’m not sure how it’ll deal with running dry. I read it’s supposed to cut out when it heats up, I’m sure I’ll find out later.
Only issue is the stated suction p/h. I filled a 42l bucket and it took 4min 46 seconds to drain. I could be wrong, but I worked it out as being roughly 529 litres per hour (double check that yourself as I’m s*** at maths) – only 3000 short of what they claim it does.. But I have time and this was cheap so I don’t care.
Perfect bought to empty my aquariums on water changes and to refill, perfect works very well basically sucking up a bucket of water leaving only around 10mm in the bottom that’s pretty good, manages to push up to 2meters with no issues worth the money.
A brilliant pump which combines ease of use with tremendous suction power. I use the pump on my 240 litre aquarium for water changes and it can remove 3/4 of the tank’s water in under 5 minutes. It has made water changes so much easier.
