Bought this for my holiday as an experiment. I wanted a cheaper ‘version’ to play with when out and about on my paddleboard or snorkling. Well first day I dipped it in the water in the wrong case. Fortunately I realised and got it out quick but it was soaked in sea water. But to my amazement after one day in rice and another out in the sun it dried out and worked. Super easy and fun to use.
Video and Pictures quality like on real GoPro Hero.Long time battery.Comes with all accessories. Value for money. Would reccomend to anyone whos thinking about buying action camera on a budet.
Used for a trip to the arctic circle. Used with chest strap. For someone like me who isn’t fussy about top quality images and just wants to capture fun action moments, this does the job. Struggled to find detailed instructions for accessories but I figured it out. Great value.
I was a little hesitant at first to purchase this item. BUT I’m so glad I did buy it!!!
I’ve used it quite a few times now and the accessory kit and extras you get with it are great! I couldn’t believe it did 4K capture, but the quality is always great when I go back to edit my videos.
If you are looking for a starter “Go-pro” which is a great price and value for money. I’d recommend this! plus 2 year warranty when you register it on their website!
The camera is not up to the quality of others such as GoPro but you are not paying the premium cost. It does the job for which it is designed so it represents good value for money
Nice little camera does the job great and does fit on my honda cbf 125 with the waterproof case youtube helped with the attachments, i will say the wifi on the camera is slow when trying to watch a video back not sure if everyone else has this problem but still works great for the price over all happy
Bought this little camera for a recent trip to Vietnam. It is a brilliant camera and the videos turned out so well – for the price it is an absolute steal
Did the job. Neat and compact. Mine didn’t have a wrist strap so I had to improvise and make one after accidentally letting go in the sea! Lots and lots of brackets and attachments for various uses. May seem daunting, but actually set up was relatively easy.
It arrived quickly and well packaged. Setting up is a bit of a nightmare so patience is required. Product seems quite well thought out and engineered. We’ll see how well it works as I want to film my Koi underwater. Will just have to wait while I Finnish setting up as this review is part of the set-up
Used it to record dog training sessions, bought some extra batteries to make sure I have plenty of power to record through the day. Easy to set up and swap batteries, picture and sound great, spot on.
Fabulous camera comes with so many extras would recommend. The pictures were amazing mostly underwater diving and swimming in the sea. The quality of the video was fantastic and didn’t disappoint and captured all the fun we had swimming with fish. Easy to connect to the Wi-Fi and watch the videos. I would definitely recommend this camera to capture memories
Bought the camera and SD card package for a trip to Spain with the family. Absolutely love it, brilliant for the price.
The 4k isn’t brilliant but the 1080 works perfectly and gives a good quality video.
Easy to use and comes with every mount you could need plus a remote. Very boisterous 8 year old has used it and not broken it. Wouldn’t waste money on anything else!!
I bought this as a friend recommended it he has several and used them almost daily for filming live music from interesting angles on the stage. The results I have seen from him have been very good I had been looking for one for a while but did not want to spend a huge amount of money for something that does not produce video at a much superior quality for the cos
Ok so i have seen the glowing 5 star reviews and the terrible 1 star reviews. Also people saying they where basically bribed with free gifts for 5 star reviews, all I can say is this is my honest opinion after 3 days use amd I wasn’t even offered any free stuff 🙁
FIRSTLY, I would of given this camera 5 stars. The only reason I didnt is because there is hardly any info that comes with it. Basic little handbook. Everything I know about this camera is from watching you tube videos and independent website reviews.
The camera is as described. For 50 quid it’s perfect. I’m not a pro but I don’t think it’s 4k but for 50 quid like I said its perfect. The video quality is decent playback quality is decent. Sound with case on is muffled. Sound with case off is good. For 50 quid it’s what I expected nothing more nothing less. Like I said I’m not a pro.
Bought it to take on holiday. Mainly to use in water. Tested it out at home over 3 days. Batteries are fine they charge good, each one last about 40 mins. Use a 32gb sd card nothing bigger. A proper one not a cheap one. Also the app works fine i saw alot of reviews saying it doesnt work. Wierdly It’s not on the play store, so I had to email support and explained i cant find the app. They where really quick to respond via email and very helpful. They said it is under maintenance and will be up soon, but they could email me a direct link to download the app, which I did and it worked first time for me. That was a major reason I wanted the camera. The fact I could just take my footage from the cam straight to my phone.
I haven’t used any of the accessories, there’s loads of them. I bought a floating handle for underwater use and a selfie stick separately.
All in all I’m very happy with this camera, for now. We shall see how it goes.
I will be going on holiday soon and updating this review after extensitive use.
I think it’s worth getting this out of the way first: this is not on par with a current-model GoPro. If you expect that, I think you’ll be sorely disappointed. However, that isn’t the point of this camera and I think the price point makes that clear.
So for the camera itself. I am definitely happy with the quality. Whilst the camera does do 4k, I tend to stick to 1080p at 60fps for 720p at 120fps. At 1080p you get a nice picture and 60fps means the footage is smooth and you can even grab frames for photos if you want to. The 720p @ 120fps is great if you want something in slow motion, it is prefect.
Operation of the menu and camera itself is very straight forward, with only four buttons to navigate and select menu options, even in direct sunlight or underwater I have had no issues operating it. One thing that took me a while to get used to is that when the camera goes to sleep, you have to press the button once to wake it and then again to start filming. This caught me out a couple of times because waking it up plays a beep, I wrongly assumed that meant it had started filming. Again, not a massive issue, just something to remember.
Battery life seems very good, I haven’t yet been using the camera during one session long enough for them to run out, as the camera comes with two batteries I tend to swap them when convenient rather than when one runs down too low.
I found that you can’t tell whether the case is on or off, it doesn’t really make a massive difference to the quality of the image. Possibly the colours are a little bit flatter but if they are, not enough to spoil the footage. It does however effect the audio, being that it is more muffled but I would expect this and it’s not ruined, just not crystal clear.
I have one slight comment about the case and that is that the plastic that makes up the lens seems extremely soft. I unfortunately dropped the camera from about 50cm and even though it didn’t land directly on the case lens, it bounced onto it and there’s now a deep scratch. Luckily, it’s out of the vision of the camera lens so it doesn’t actually matter, but something to bear in mind. I think I might see if there’s additional cases available.
The accessories that come with the camera are great, there’s almost everything you need to use the camera in any situation. Although I did also order one of those yellow, floating handles for surfing, coasteering and the like. Literally my only negative about the accessories is that the thumbscrew was so tightly screwed on, I had to use a pair of wrenches to loosen it initially! You can probably see from the photo, it was so tight the plastic had slightly deformed. I assume that they are tightened with a machine for speed and it was just slightly over tightened. Once I got it loose, no problems with the thread, it works perfectly.
I bought this camera with the view that the footage would be “okay”. I got more than that and I’m very happy wit the purchase, to the extent I am strongly considering purchasing a second.
So overall, would I recommend this camera? Yes I would, with a couple of caveats:
1) Don’t expect professional grade footage, that just isn’t fair at this price point
2) This feels more like a “snapshot” quality camera, the kind of thing you might take with you phone’s camera, but underwater. If it was for once-in-a-lifetime memories, I would be investing more money in a different camera. This is perfect for regular events.
