The cable functions fine for me (4k 60hz). The connection seems secure, but there is no lock as I have seen on some other DP cables. It is a lot thicker than I was expecting (I should have paid more attention to the pictures) which makes rouing the cable neatly a bit challenging.
Recently rearranged my desk so I needed some longer display port cables for my monitors to reach. I looked around at different brands but the amazon basics brand was cheaper so I decided to go with this.
The cable is quite thick compared to my old ones but that hasn’t caused any issues routing it through my cable management on my stand or under my desk.
Performance works as expected no issues there. Nice to know it’s future proofed for the future too. I use it with a 4K 60Hz monitor and it works great.
Simple black display port cable. I got 2 of the 1.8m ones, for the price they are great. Note these cables lack the latching feature you find on some. Personally I think a latching plug system is a bit of a liability because I’d rather a plug came out if pulled than fall apart or even worse wreck the socket it’s attached too. The plugs are molded so should be less likely to fall apart as the one supplied with my monitor did.
Would recommend.
I have just recently upgraded from a 2070 Super to a 3090 and my old DP cable could not carry the signal to my monitor. I bought this cable and it works well giving me a clear 1440p resolution at 144Hz both in games and in Windows/MacOs. I was rather surprised by how thin it was compared to my old DP cable which was better ruggedised so we will see how long this one lasts.
Nice cable, quite a chunky boi – but fits in the connector on the back of my monitor no problem. Picture clear as you’d expect – though I’m running at standard 1900/60Hz resolutions, not at the 8k this cable claims to support. Hopefully it should be good for any future upgrades too.
This cable is a good monitor cable that I wanted to work in “deep colour” and be accurately calibrated. It was fine for that purpose (2K not even 4K, only at least 10-12bit colour). The cable is on the higher diameter variety and I have an old VGA cable about the same. It isn’t as inflexible as some make out. Note the plugs do not have the tiny sprung loaded claws that you release with a button if you want to extract the plug from its socket. It means they are easier to pull out. Seems OK hanging vertically down out of my monitor socket. You may see this as a plus or minus. Maybe that’s the basic bit.
A star off as the cable and plugs are without any markings. If I were to look at this in years to come I won’t have a clue it is an 8K cable. Also the address label was stuck on the box on top of the product labelling which gives the spec of the cable inside. I can’t peel it off without tearing the label beneath to check what it is I have received. Basically I’ve got a fat black cable that works.
Dear Amazon – please stick your delivery labels on the opposite side to the product label on Amazon Basics product boxes. Thanks. Or put a little label inside the box or get your cables marked
