Consiglitissimo.

I love this bag/case as I used it and I worked really well when you are staying only for a couple of nights but I do like the idea that you can extend the case part of this back pack.

There is ample room and a good selection of compartments for all your travel goods.
I used this for a weekend trip to Munich and it offered more than enough room for my luggage and travel items.

I used this to travel on Lufthansa (carry on).

The multiple handles allow to carry as a case, backpack or with single shoulder strap (all provided).

This is a great backpack that converts into a small suitcase. I have had a similar one for 40 years and the buckles finally broke so I bought this as a replacement. It is a very good backpack for carryon and is with ing most airline carry on regulations

Holds its shape well. One main compartment plus padded laptop sleeve at rear and large documents and oddments compartment at the front.
    Size seems perfect for Ryanair.
Carry handles on top and side and the shoulder straps store in a pocket too.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this as a gift. It was well made, well thought out cabin luggage complying size wise with most airline regulations. Has hideable ruck sack straps; 2 carrying handles and 2 removeable shoulder straps. Better option & better built than the “Cabin Max” I purchased some time ago – so I bought another for myself.

I bought this after a lot of research and deliberation, and I couldn’t be happier with the bag.
The bag is deceptively compact, but holds a lot of stuff. I used it for a 7 day trip and it held everything perfectly (included a laptop).
Pros : Compact, Easy to carry, Spacious
Cons: Noting really, but it would have been nice to have a water bottle slot.

While the bag is sturdy, would not recommend carrying glass containers.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI love this bag. I had another brand of cabin bag which was far too floppy and awkward to carry around by the handle. It was also not easy to store bits and pieces and get at them easily when travelling. This bag is quite different. It is sturdy and extremely well made and there are many pockets and sections to put your clothes, laptop, books etc. The front pocket is great for the smaller items such as tablet, passport, pens, money etc. It is surprisingly well made.

Exactly as advertised. I haven’t used it for a trip yet but I will be doing a practice packing soon. We’re trying carry on only and this will hopefully carry half of our clothing. Lots of compartments and compression straps to keep everything organized.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI’ve had this for a few months now and gotten a lot of use out of it. It’s a good alternative to a rolly bag which can be annoying sometimes. I prefer this backpack as it’s as big (or even bigger) than my cabin rolly bag, you can travel hands free and no need to worry about what type of ground you’re walking on (or up down stairs etc).

It’s actually slightly bigger than expected. it has a compartment for laptops and a couple of other useful compartments. It’s comfortable enough to wear as hand luggage although I wouldn’t recommend it as a backpacking bag as it’s not really made for wearing all the time and after a day becomes uncomfortable if you’ve got a lot of heavy stuff in. I travel a lot and almost never check in luggage, just carry hand luggage. This bag is really good for that because it’s big enough to fit everything I need (whether for a weekend trip or even 2-week beach holiday – I tend to pack light) but small enough that it fits the cabin bag regulations.

I also like the red colour. It has an extra handle so you can wear it as a shoulder bag, I haven’t used it myself but imagine it canbe useful for some people. All in all I recommend it!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI just received this and I was thrilled to be able to order it as a Like New Warehouse deal for $16 less than regular price. It is an extremely well-constructed backpack and quality-wise stands head and shoulders for the most part above the Cabin Max Metz identically priced backpack.
It has additional features even as compared with the Cabin Max Tallinn – the more similar of the Cabin Max options.

The AmazonBasics carry-on features a side carrying handle, chest strap, waist belt, stowaway shoulder straps and a carrying strap. It also has an expanding zipper feature. The Metz has none of these features. The Taillinn has a side carrying handle, but none of the other AmazonBasics extras besides this. The AmazonBasics material and stitching is far superior. Of the three backpacks, the Metz has the sloppiest stitching and the smallest top carrying handle.
There are at least one if not two potential deal-breaker(s) for some travel, however…The AmazonBasics weighs in at 1.7 kg (3.75 lbs). I took the Cabin Max Tallinn and put it inside the Cabin Max Metz because we may need to bring an additional backpack with us and the two together weighed 1.7 kg. The AmazonBasics also appears smaller size-wise, but I have not as of yet measured it. Compared to the Metz, though, it was definitely smaller.
Ryanair has a carry-on weight limit of 10 kg (22 lbs). While this may not be an issue for most airline travel, it could make a difference for those who want to maximize size and weight and stay within certain airline carry-on guidelines/restrictions.

This backpack seems very comfortable and sits very well on my back – probably more comfortably than the Metz does. The fabric is of a superior texture and quality and it is rubberized on the back. All the fabric raw edges are finished at the zippers and everywhere. The Metz has raw edges next to the zippers. The AmazonBasics model has very good structure unlike the Metz which is floppier (especially in large black with green trim model). The Tallinn is currently not available on Amazon, but also has very good structure. There is a Cabin Max Metz Extra with some of the features of the AmazonBasics model, but it is more expensive.

Bottom line – the AmazonBasics backpack looks like a fine piece of luggage and seems very solid and it is a good investment overall. It is twice as heavy as either the Cabin Max Metz or Tallinn and smaller than some of the Cabin Metz models, however. (the Metz models vary in size – prints appear to be smaller than some of the solid colors)

I am happy to have purchased this backpack and I will use it – most likely just not for our 17 day trip to Europe.

    Happy Traveling!

Bought it for Rs.1600 in Lightning Deal and made payment via AmazonPay so got additional cash back. Even if you purchase this bag for Rs.2100 it’s worth every penny according to me. I may be wrong but if you look at the quality and space you are getting in a well organized manner then I must say that if this bag is not cheap then this bag is also not expensive. A great bag for Week or 2 Week or 3 Week travel if you travel alone and do not carry too much items with you. Also good as Hand Carry in Air Travel. Packaging was also topnotch as usual by Amazon. Thanks for the deal.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersQuality is excellent. The material seems to be very high quality and thick. This makes the bag about 500 grams heavy, since it isn’t flimsy material and is designed to last.

There are a lot of quirky little straps to ensure that the bag maintains structural integrity – like the clips on the side. This means you can put in a hell of a lot of stuff inside, and still not worry about the backpack weighing you down since it can be packed up compact.

The backstraps are sealed in a zipper. What i found great was the quality of the zippers. Very high.

No complaints, but good value for money

Great value for money - high quality materials and zippers

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love that this is super light and can roomy, take a lot of items.
This has a zip all the way around so that the case can be expanded to take more clothing. It also has a zip front compartments that takes quite a lot.

I was expecting this to be a really bright leary red but in actual fact it has more burgundy tones to it, and is a really nice colour.
I did find some of the clips that secure it quite stiff and difficult to use but that may be because it is new. Instead of a rucksack this is more like a traditional suitcase that has been adapted to be comfortable to wear on your back. The big advantage is that you can get a lot more in this than a traditional rucksack.. because it is squishy it can be squashed down to comply with airline rules on baggage size if taking in your hand luggage.

Looking at the quality of the seams and ditching this is pretty good, and to be honest I can see nothing basic about this at all

In all I think it’s a pretty good travel backpack. A bit like a very lightweight suitcase you can carry on your back.

This all purpose Travel Backpack from Amazon Baasics is great for anyone like me, who regularly carts a laptop case and work bag around. This large backpack has a laptop sleeve and several storage compartments, making it an all in one solution for moving your stuff around. Of course it will then be quite heavy, and if it’s not going in the boot of the car, then it has substantial shoulder straps, to keep your hands free on the move. The Backpack will also come in handy for weekends away, and a spot of hiking…happy traveling:).

I was really impressed with this backpack, it is really thought out and just a brilliant design. The material is thick and robust, the zips and straps are really strong, and there are lots of support straps to keep everything in place and stop the material from ever splitting open. It is really well made.

There are lots of zippered compartments and various straps (fold-in shoulder straps, a long side shoulder strap, a long thin strap that connects with I don’t know what, and lots of straps to go across the body and across the zips). There are built-in handles at both the side and the top of the bag, and the whole backpack extends considerably in size with the zipped extension.

The backpack is comfy to use, as the shoulder straps are wide and padded and the whole of the back of the bag is padded. The support straps that connect across your waist and chest also help make supporting a heavy load easy and comfortable. The brilliant thing is the shoulder straps fold away inside a pocket when not in use, so on an aeroplane they wouldn’t be sticking out and getting caught up in other people’s luggage. And the whole backpack is quite light, so on arrival at your destination it would be great for taking on your days out as a normal bag, without the need to bring another bag.

Really useful, and easier to manoeuvre than a wheelie case.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThe difficulty in reviewing this specific item right now is there is no price in place – this will change. I’ve had this before with AmazonBasics products so I can only give a broad overview, but minus the context that price would offer.

First thing to say is that this bag surprised me. When you think ‘basics’ you kinda think junk. But when I have received AmazonBasics items they have always stood out as very decent, as it is with this bag. It is larger than I expected, flexible and very well put together. I have a very nice quality carry on case already, but it really does skirt around the edge of being refused. On some airlines I reckon I’d be lucky to get away with it. The problem is that while it is sold as ‘carry on’ there are many variations on the theme that you can never be 100% sure! So really the only safe bet is to go with something mid range to smaller. That’s where this bag fits so well.

It is compressible if needed with the strong side straps allowing some decent pull and then holding well. But if you think you’ll get away with the full capacity then it expands well and fits in quite a lot of stuff. There is no doubt I’ll be taking this on my next flight to Berlin in a couple of weeks and there’ll be zero anxiety about being challenged at the gate. I pack very efficiently and so I reckon my five days of packing will fit in no problem.

There are lots of inner pockets to keep things separate and so easy to find. Padding isn’t great but the only vulnerable item I sometimes carry is my laptop and that has its own padded sleeve. Position it smartly in the case and there’ll be no problem. If you have a very small laptop or a tablet then there’s a rear side zip entry that it can go in. You always have carry on with you so protection is less an issue clearly than with cargo bags. Papers, etc that may need quick access can go in the outer zip sleeve.

The colour is actually finely judged. It’s red and so it could slide easily into the garish, but it is more subtle and doesn’t shout out. The backpack straps are OK and you can wear the pack for a decent amount of time if it’s not too heavily filled. I’d say they lack padding for longer use but generally they are appropriate nfor this class of bag. Certainly wearable easily enough for a typical journey. All the zips are substantial.

Overall I offer a solid 5***** recommendation, but do consider this score may alter depending on price. At an estimated 30 or so I’d say it’s hard to go wrong for those occasional long weekend breaks or business trips.

UPDATE: Took the bag with me to Berlin for a five day trip and absolutely ideal. The shoulder straps were fine, the bag easily took my clothes and computer equipment with plenty of spaces for the smaller, easy to get to stuff. Zero problems in the overhead lockers. Just all-round a pragmatic, easy to use travel case.
