Needed a USB C to USB 3.1 cable that would work with my SSD for storing PS4 games.. Went into several local stores and wasn’t able to find one. This cable was exactly what I needed and works extremely well.

Didn’t realise that all USB C leads weren’t the same until I bought a vehicle that used Android Auto. Turns out that you need a cable that not only charges but is also capable of data transfer. This cable works fine and was a good price, so very happy with the outcome.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought a new Samsung S23 Ultra mobile phone and when using my old lower wattage cable, my new mobile would not connect to Android Auto in the car. After reading multiple forums someone suggested upgrading to a faster speed transfer cable and voil it worked. Not only does Android Auto now work but the charging speed has also increased. Excellent quality and excellent price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWell it might be me, probably is, but I didn’t realise the difference a cable can make!

I had been using some old type C cable I found in a box to connect USB 3.1 CF express card reader to a named USB 3.1 port. Transfer rate was rubbish – probably not surprising for those of you who know how stupid I was being.

OK now getting 10-20x the transfer rate from 40meg/s to around 500 average, call that a win.

Oh, you wanted to know about the cable not my stupidity. Well its a cable – feels solid and well made – tad stiff but that might be unavoidable given the cable and shielding spec. To be honest I do not know what else you might want – best few quid I’ve spent in a while.

Go ahead and buy – can’t think this will be a disappointment to you – and of course the rock solid Amazon return warranty.

    As per the headline.

First-time use was to connect a desktop PC to my newly-assembled portable USB-C SSD so as to check what was on the old SSD, transfer off what I wanted to keep, and then completely remove all the partitions to make just a single one, and then to reformat it, etc.
The cable appeared to allow all that to be done without any real issues, or to take an excessively long time to that.

Therefore, so far, I’m happy with this cable.

I purchased a rechargeable light for outdoors. It needed a USB C cable to charge it but most of the cables I had wouldn’t work with it, even though those cables worked on my Pixel 6 and other devices.

This cable just works so will be left with the light. So don’t bother with expensive cables as Amazon Basics are quite good despite the name including “Basic”.

Initially did not work for syncing, I don’t know why but now works ok for both for charging and data transfer. I can only assume some debris was in the usb port on my phone. The default cable is too short for me 0.3m, I did not realize I needed to have selected 0.9m. I don’t recall this being clear on the ordering page. The cable itself seems good quality.

These are nice quality and good of looking cables. However, I was using this linked to a synthesiser and had all sorts of issues with noise due to the cable not being in the slightest bit shielded. So great for linking or charging peripherals but don’t use with electronic instruments when recording audio!

Got this on offer as went very cheap. Purchased as you can never have enough USB-C cables (that are higher speeds anyway). It’s my fault but the version I purchased is extremely tiny and I don’t really see a use-case for cables this small – it would only just reach the floor from a plug socket so not very handy for me personally. However, I would 100% purchase longer cables in this design – very strong and very sturdy, good luck breaking it as it seems extremely hard to do so!

A* for Quality. Only voted down in stars due to my misconception on how long this cable would be and struggling to think of an actual use-case for something like this.

This cable was to replace a genuine Sony usb c cable that started degrading. The package came prompt and was just in a plain cardboard box so doesn’t look all that impressive.

The quality of the cable feels really good, it’s got a good thinkness to the cable premium feeling nylon braid and good quality connectors. To compare the feeling of quality to other cables people may be familiar with I’d likely rate it in the below order.

    Sony usb 3 Original.
    This cable.
    Apple usb Original
    Samsung usb Original.

Obviously I can’t compare the use Vs apple cable but compared to the Sony original cable I’d say this is more durable and thicker but doesn’t feel as nice to touch or as flexible. The speed of data transfer is negligible and can’t really comment on which is better.

Compared to the genuine Samsung s8 and s10 original cable, this cable is far superior in everything except flexibility. This feels more premium, more durable and sturdy and the transfer speeds are sometimes 8x faster showing how good this cable is.

As for the charging capability this works without any complaint and I didn’t notice any improvement or reduction in charging performance over the originals.

One complaint I did have with this is I have 3 phones it was to get used on but can only easily use it on 2. On one of our devices a Sony Z2, the cable doesn’t seem to go in far enough with the case. The connector is just slightly too bulky and can’t be used efficiently without taking case off.

I would buy it again, I’d likely go for a smaller or longer cable as I feel this is too long for in car use but too short for anything other than charging whilst not using.
