For the price it’s ok it’s much smaller when you receive it than I thought it would be
I’ve put a small cctv camera on it which is really too heavy for its leg span but it does the job ok
This tripod is well build, made of metal and has a solid construction. Although the legs are extendable, there is no way of locking these and therefore this limits the weight the tripod can handle with these extended.
I’m absolutely delighted with this tripod, I bought it to take on holiday with me and use it with my phone mount which I also bought here. Its all metal construction is really sturdy and surprised me as I was expecting something made of plastic for the ridiculously low price of 5 and a few pence! It’s small size is perfect for travelling and will fit in a pocket or small bag. Used in conjunction with the aforementioned bluetooth phone mount, I now have a great solution to use my phone’s camera instead of carrying around different pieces of tech and my full size tripod.
I thoroughly recommend it not just for holidays but where a smaller but stable mounting is required, ie hobbies, groups etc. Five out of five. 🙂
Good value for money and appear sturdy enough.
To be used for a photography project and to be modified to hold small backdrops for macro photography.
Would consider buying again if needed.
Will you be disappointed by its size when you open the package? The four inch tripod expands to five and a half inches before peaking at seven and a half inches. Its weakest point is the plastic handle to tighten the ball and socket mount. I will be surprised if doesn’t break sooner rather than later after which you will have to improvise with something (preferably metallic). I attached a mount of my own for a mobile phone/light source/reflector etc. It should be sturdy enough for compact cameras but not DSLR type cameras with lenses.
Final verdict: I am glad I bought it as it meets my needs when I do those little desktop pictures or when I am out and about. Its durable, portable, and fits in my pocket without being a hinderence. The only problem will be people wanting to borrow it. It is a few pounds well spent.
I bought this tripod for my Gosky 12X55 monocular in order to take steady long-distance photos whilst attaching my smartphone to the eyepiece, whether doing this from a window sill indoors or in the great outdoors. This little tripod is excellent for this purpose for three reasons: the telescopic legs are sturdy and stay firmly in place (my previous tripod kept collapsing due to the weight of the monocular and phone); once screwed into the monocular base, it stays firmly in place and there is zero wobble (unlike two other tripods I’ve used); and collapsed down, it measures 11cm X 3cm, which means it takes up hardly any space in my bag whilst travelling. Obviously, as this is a mini tripod, you need a high surface to stand it on, but this is more practical whilst on hikes than walking around with a full-sized, three-foot camera tripod. I totally recommend this.
It is light, reasonably stable for such a small tripod and effective.
Does the job for the few occasions where I need a tripod.
Light and easy to carry.
My camera is small. Not sure how effective this would be with a bigger and heavier camera.
Recommended.
You can’t really argue with the price of these but be aware that if you’re likely to want the alter the angle adjustment, the screw isn’t very secure at all.
The AmazonBasics lightweight Mini Tripod is surprisingly functional for the price. It’s light and strong and can be used in a range of heights from 112mm (4.5″) to 178mm (7″). It is conveniently designed for packing away.
The screw-on attachment will fit any camera or webcam that uses a 1/4″ screw-in connector, and that’s pretty much all of them, including the Logitech webcam range. You can also use it to attach a mobile phone holder such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071XHYG5R/ref=crt_ewc_title_oth_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1NY92AVJG8AQH or pretty much any other tripod attachable device.
The legs do not lock in place, but have enough resistance to do the job and can easily take a load of up to a kilo (2 lbs) even in the fully extended position.
Yes, get it. You can’t really go wrong.
I bought two of these because they were cheap and well reviewed, and I thought I might need something for a project I’m thinking about which involves my go-pro type camera. That said, based on some other reviews, I wasn’t really expecting much. However, now I have them I think they are great – sturdy, even with the telescopic legs extended. Standard screw mount for cameras or small studio lights or whatever. Great value for money.
I bought a couple of these for my GoPro and another compact camera to get multiple angles of video. They’re very light and fold away so easy to transport. They do wobble a bit in the wind; guessing they’re not designed for outdoor use. Indoors on a flat surface they are fine.
Absoulutely fantastic for the price, when mine arrived i did experience the issues that some others have had with the legs not all folding out to the same degree but 30 seconds with a phillips screwdriver loosened the bottom plate, i manipulated the legs a couple of times then tightened it all back up and voila, a great little tripod thats perfect for desktop use in my case or to even take and about with a camera
