My son needed this for exercises for hamstring issue. He’s said it’s been great size and strength wise. He’s been able to use for physio suggestions and feeling the benefits.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis… Is a resistance band…
    It works.
If youre looking for this product then you already know what you want and expect from it.
It is a functional resistance band, feels exactly the same as any other resistance band but was the cheapest at the time i was looking

Im 5,11 /12.5 stones, slightly shorter than expected, luckily not a issue as i hang it off a ring to add extra length so i can get my feet in the band , i can easily do 4 sets of ten unassisted but just to push those extra sets and reps so i build my numbers without aid…

I work in a gym and have used many different types of these bands. I can say these bands are fantastic for the price, highly recommended for mobility or resistance training.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got this to try and learn a muscle up. It’s good for learning the correct movement. Haven’t been able to do a muscle up yet tho.

Update: I eventually Keane hoe to do a muscle up with the band. But then I didn’t do it for a while and now I can’t do it again lol

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought the second strongest band for pull ups and face pulls (for rear delts).

Aided pull ups are good for all types of folks, whether you can do 1 pull up or 30 pull ups, there’s still a place for them. I usually use them as an accessory to unassisted pull ups, it allows it to widen my grip. I’ve also used these for face pulls, I find them to be the perfect resistance. They are slightly too weak for tricep extensions though.

Whoever would have thought that there would be money in giant rubber bands? I didn’t, which shows how much I know, or didn’t know in this case. Because you can’t move without tripping over the things, and their popularity over the last decade or so has been steadily increasing. Which is no bad thing, since they’re actually a rather good idea when you know how to use them. Plenty of websites that can give basic details on that front, and relatively light resistance training makes for a good simple workout, which most people can work into their daily routine without taking up too much time, space or money.

So, here we have a straightforward resistance band, with up to about 35lbs total, simply finished in cherry red. There isn’t a great deal to be said on that front, since it is what it is, which is rather simple. However, it’s well priced, the band seems quite durable (no sign of any distress on mine), well-finished and can be folded into a fairly compact loop, which is more than can be said for a few. Length is reasonable also. All in all, a solid product, and if you haven’t tried one before, it should make a good buy. They’re well worth using, and many are surprised at the effect these things can have on basic fitness levels. Recommended.

Basic but very handy. Comes without instructions so if you haven’t used one, I recommend exploring YouTube. Surprisingly strong, I can see it for use not just by exercisers but in the rehabilitation of atrophied muscles.

Quite a good band with a nice amount of stretch but a good amount of light resistance which is perfect for easy exercise that isn’t going to really strain the muscles too much. Is quite a thin band and rolls up into a small size for easy storage.

Didn’t come with any instructions but thanks to social media, websites and YouTube it’s easy to find instructional images and videos that give you a good idea of how to use these.

Will be great to use in my off-gym days.

Acquired for my son who is keen on improving his fitness and at the low end of the resistance range this seemed a good starting point. His main comment is that this is easy to use, the band is thinner in width but thicker in dimension than a previous band I have used and I found that it wasn’t as comfortable to use … he on the other hand found this worked well and he is interested in getting others in the range as his fitness improves. He has used some bands with ‘handles’ in the gym that he found helpful but this is a good starting point at a reasonable price.

The actual band is good quality and the rubber has a good resistance to it.

it was a little disappointing not to receive any instruction on how to use this correctly.

If you were wondering the correct thing to do is attach the band to the bar with a simple loop, and then pull your shin through the lower part of the band so you can use the force from the band to help you with your pull ups.

It does do this well but you’ll need to work out what kind of resistance help you need before buying this.

This all being said, this is a high quality item at a good cost, so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it if you know what you are looking for.

This arrived rolled up in a small polythene bag with no instructions on its use. Fortunately there are loads of web sites that give instructions, just google resistance exercise band. As for hazards, you will just have to guess, apart from suffocating in the tiny bag.

One daughter commented that it is too long and too thick. The thickness gives the high resistance force, of course.

As an exerciser, this is compact enough to travel. You can do chest expander exercises, curls and any number of other exercises without your own gym or even visiting one. About the only thing you can’t do is run, though there are several walking exercises that involve a figure of eight around your spread feet and hands.

One star deducted for lack of information.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWell, I’m not going to complain about the lack of instructions – there’s a just so many things that can be done with them, ideal with the initial help of a sports instructor (or YouTube). Any one looking for these would know what they are for, and there’s loads of resources out there. If Amazon tried to give instructions they would fail – too many possibilities, too many languages.

What’s important is the quality, and these are superb. Therefore they get my five stars.

Note – I received the green bands, which are one up in strength/resistance from the purple ones shown.

This Amazon basic Resistance band is (as it’s name suggests!) a pretty basic and simple rubber resistance band that you can use for training and fitness. I went for the 40-80lb band and I have to say compared to the other band I have in this range, this is a lot easier to use and exercise with. It is great for bicep curls and is perfect for training Pull-ups as it takes a little of your weight off so you can perfect your form and gain the required strength. This seems of good quality and the thick rubber looks like it will last a long time and be very resilient. Resistance bands are perfect for where space is at a premium and clunky dumbells aren’t practical, they are also great to chuck in a suitcase and use when away on business trips. Compared to other bands I have, this looks very good quality for the price.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

A no frills resistance band. Supplied in a plain packing. The product is well made and does what it should. The edges are well finished, no frayed or loose bits. The addition of basic instructions with some suggested exercises would improve the product further.

This is a really tough feeling exercise band. It has great resistance, both myself and my husband had a go and were impressed by the amount of force needed when using it. I would have preferred an exercise guide to help with ideas for exercises – not much good if you haven’t used them before. Nice colour too – purple!

    AmazonBasics Resistance and Pull Up Band – 1 1/4″ W – Resistance 40- 80 LBs

=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===

    * AmazonBasics is a good, solid range of no-frills products and all the ones I’ve used in the range so far have done a good job
    * Well-made and good value product with no-frills packaging (curled in a coil held in place by a matching rubber band, sealed in a plastic bag and posted in a padded envelope)
    * Resistance bands are versatile pieces of kit for exercising in a variety of settings using resistance and body weight either on their own or in conjunction with other equipment (such as a pull-up bar); they take up little room if you’re using them at home or taking them with you to the gym or on holiday. They can also add variety to an exercise regime that’s got a bit staid and mixing it up can help you make gains when you’ve plateaued.
    * This is a strong resistance band, essentially a big rubber band, aimed at either the higher end of strength training or, if used for pull-ups (chin-ups), people who need a lot of assistance in order to complete the exercise.

    === NIGGLES ===

    * There are no instructions on the Amazon website as to how to use the product, and not even any proper product description such as what it’s made of or even its dimensions!
    * Is this the right pull-up band for you or should you choose another one in the range? Hard to know, because that depends on how many pull ups you can do unassisted now (starting from 0) and how much you weigh, but there is no chart given here to tell you. Perhaps instead you can go to the gym and use an assisted pull up machine and see how much weight you put on the machine, because these bands come in resistances of 65-175 LBs (blue), 50-125 LBs (purple), 40- 80 LBs (green), 30-60 LBs (grey) and 10- 35 LBs (red). Who knows? It seems this is a piece of kit to be bought either by people who know exactly what they’re doing or who are willing to take a punt that it might be useful.
    * Rather than the green 40-80lb resistance band, Amazon sent in error the purple 50-125lb one so my comments relate to that product instead

For sale at the time of writing this review at 11.13.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic product, but no information in the listing or packaging about selecting the appropriate one(s) for you

These are really strong, thick resistance bands that won’t just easily snap (of course, the user has to check for cracks as time goes on). I do some weight lifting and these bands have added some much-needed variety to up the game. The length is also good allowing me to use them while seated, squating or standing. Easy to carry on vacation and do some muscle excerces.

Fabulous. A tough, strong band, good length, and well made – no fear that it is going to snap ping back into your face. Can be used seated or standing – or as I will be doing, wrapped round your ankles while you use ‘nipping to make a cuppa’ as an excuse to build up leg muscles!

What a brilliant idea! An aid to exercise that is economically priced, easy to store but so much better made than those stretchy plastic sheets the physio gives you that perish all too soon. There are lots of ways you can work on your muscles with one of these, it is a really good material to pull on and you can just sit in a chair working at your repetitions or stand in the corner of the room regaining or improving your muscular development.
This is a good way to recover from an injury or even to just develop muscle tone that you haven’t had before and will last a substantial amount of time before you have to replace it. I am really thrilled by this product and am looking forward to the difference it will make.
A really well made and great value product!

Very pleased with this. It’s a pretty thick band, sturdy and easy to grip. It’s strong enough to provide full support on a pull-up bar. In general bands are a great exercise aid but I won’t bag on about that here, just safe to say this is quality product and at a reasonable price.
